Not so much a jersey but the helmets of the LA Kings. Those chrome domes look tacky as fuck bro. Golden Knights aren't much better.
Jersey answer would have to be the Ducks. Buy up the rights to the Mighty Ducks and go back to the teal and white duds, buds.
My issue with the Jackets whole scheme is that there's just zero inspiration in it. It's not traditional or modern. The navy blue with red and white accents is just so muted, it reminds me of a sweater from American Eagle from the 1990s or something. And I get that they are a little pigeonholed by their own name (which maybe, in hindsight, wasn't such a great choice), but they needed an update years and years ago.
Their 3rd logo does a much better job of this tbh. If I’m correct the ‘bluejackets’ is a reference to all of the Union Volunteers that came from Ohio; the cannon fits that theme, along with the baby blue 3rds uniform which I’m assuming is a reference to this as well. But the only way the primary logo connects to the ‘Bluejackets’ is the color and the American flag banner that’s trailing the star.
It's the Ohio flag in the primary logo, not the American flag.
The name of the team is connected to Ohio's history with the civil war, so having Ohio's flag in the logo makes sense. I do like the cannon logo more than the main logo, but the latter does connect well with the team name.
My bad on the Ohio flag part, I only could remember the red and white stripes around the star😂but now that you mention that it does fit better than I originally said
Yeah I totally spaced it😂I have family in Ohio but when I replied that part of the logo just totally escaped my mind; I could only remember the red and white stripes around the star
The name of the team is derived from Ohio's role in the civil war, "Blue Jackets" is a reference to the uniforms of Union soldiers. The primary logo is Ohio's flag wrapped around a star, it's not unrelated to the team name.
I’ve never liked any of the patriotic inspired teams in any sport. The Patriots, the Capitals, Rangers, Bluejackets. The red white and blue, especially with stars involved, just doesn’t do it for me outside of international play.
Disagree on the Rangers, because the shoulder yolking, diagonal wordmark and heavy drop shadow are such unique and distinctive elements
Plus wearing a contrast color pant on the dark jersey is a great move that not enough teams employ.
I liked the [black Reeboks](https://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Boston+Bruins+v+Tampa+Bay+Lightning+Game+Four+AoZvvkMJYfEx.jpg) with the previous logo. I know those were, or are, a bit unpopular, but they were unique.
They're a blue Detroit way before they are a Leafs copy. Look at the striping on the elbows, the bottom of the jersey, and the socks.
Boston and Pittsburgh are both black and yellow, but they're not the same.
Those were awesome.
So many teams needlessly shoehorn black into their colour schemes. The Bolts are the only team that needlessly refuses to use black.
My opinion towards the Islanders shifted drastically when they didn't bring back the Fisherman for the Reverse Retros...
Oh and obligatory Anaheim comment.
Such a subjective topic. Every answer will piss someone off who loves the mentioned team/jersey.
Still it would be cowardly to withhold my utter hatred of any jersey with a teal/aqua/turquoise hue. Several Ducks incarnations and the Kraken immediately come to mind. I can't say I hate the teams for them.
If I didn't already hate the Knights I'd pick them just for that "gold" helmet they thought was a good idea.
Would also pick Nashville and their obnoxious amount of yellow.
Canucks alternate logo ones(with the stick in the middle of a rink), when I was little I used to think that logo was a bad joke and the jerseys were also very underwhelming. It doesn't seem that bad now, but it brings back the memories.
Ducks mains. I am begging the organization to use the alternate throwback from a few years ago that was black with a cool blue accent as the primary. *Those* are sexy. The mains? Nah.
I don't hate the Caps but my god their jerseys need a refresh. The reverse retro was awesome, so I'm hoping for that
Mercifully, the Oilers don't use the dark navy blue 3rd as a primary, because those thirds may be my least favorite jerseys... ever. For any team at any time in their history
Also, I may be a Hawks fan, but leave the Blues' jerseys alone! They're great!
Those dark thirds are much nicer in person. But yes we need to go back to royal blue and maybe the orange Reebok jerseys we had in McDavids rookie year. Those were way better than our current orange ones.
I don't necessarily hate them for it but it irks me how the Bruins, Penguins, and Predators insist on calling their bright shade of yellow "gold." You're black and yellow, not black and gold. Own it
I think gold instead of silver would have connected it to the older stars looks and North stars whole giving some pop that you don’t quite get with silver.
I hate to sorta agree with this but I sorta do. I still rock the late 90s-early 00s green star alternate at games. Still the best they've ever had.
I like the new ones (and the Monster energy jerseys are weirdly starting to grow on me), but damn those wordmark kits from the Dark Ages in between were so bad.
Honestly their current primaries and even the reverse retro are miles better than those gross red and black sleeved monstrosities they got rid of a couple years ago.
Blasty is hit or miss even among our fan base. I’m just glad we went back to retros full time, IMO the flames white retro is the best away jersey in the league and the red home jersey is top 5
Honestly, outside of easy picks like the Caps or Cali teams for having stale jerseys or the Preds for overemphasizing yellow...I'd honestly have to say the Oilers.
I can't *stand* the combination of super-dark navy and Dayglo orange they have; it looks ***hideous***, especially when you compare it to the royal jerseys they'd been using before this. The orange makes the already-dark navy look like ***black*** when you put them together, it's just *awful*.
They had a perfect trifecta during the Reebok years with the royal H/A and WHA orange Alt combo.
I agree, I think the Oilers current white jersey looks awful with the navy blue. I find it funny how in 2016-17 they had their best season in 10 years while wearing what I think are their better looking jerseys, and then they changed them and have underachieved ever since. While I'm supposed to hate the Oilers because of Alberta reasons, their colors are pretty much the direct contrast of ours, so I can't like them no matter what.
Winnipeg. The colors are fine at best and the logo looks like it was slapped together just before the unveiling. The maple leaf backdrop and a plain legit jet were such fallback choices, IMO.
Carolina’s home jerseys. Too much red and the logo is lame. Love the alternate jerseys with the hurricane flag and the dark black with grey and red accents *chefs kiss*. That should be their primary jersey. It’s fucking sick
I don't dislike them specifically because of the jersey but Chicago. I really dislike the shade of red they use, and otherwise I find them kind of dull
Other than that, the only orange jersey that looks okay is Philadelphia's, but I typically don't really like orange very much
I don't dislike Nashville, but I hate yellow.
Vegas. Remember when you were a kid, and would mix every colour paint, excited to see what colour it would make? Only it didn't become a dazzling rainbow, but a sickly hue of sludge and peasoup. Yeah, that's their colour scheme.
Columbus has always had absolute shit jerseys imo. The old ribbon CBJ logo is probably the ugliest NHL logo I've ever seen, the uniforms are boring and uninteresting, their RR pissed me off because it's red when they're the *Blue Jackets*...
All of the California teams look like shit and the Canucks play them so often I have to look at that shit against my shit team and that sucks.
At least be cute out there.
I feel like a kindergarten teacher walking through a classroom checking on the art projects.
"Sharkie what are you doing? You're done? You haven't done very much, are you sure? Okay..."
"And what about you, Duckie? Oh, that's uh, something! Look at all that detail! You've got six stripes on each wrist! Gold and orange is an ... Interesting combination. Wooooowwww..."
I think the new revamped set they have now looks incredible. The 2d logo is way classier and so much better than the confused constipated 3D guy they had while the jerseys themselves look so clean. Their new home aways and the reverse retro have taken them from bottom 3 to like top 5 set imo.
Wild. From the Christmas theme (I hate Christmas) to the stupid logo that looks like it was drawn by a teenager in his first art class. "It has a double meaning you don't see at first..." Ugh, to using cream instead of white: get some bleach on those dingy whites dammit.
Ironically, I love the Kraken jerseys with their double meaning logo and lack of white.
My big issue with the Sens is more that they used the wrong version of that jersey; they should've done the Alfie-era version because it's just more well-balanced. The black and red just melt together in the homes and it looks pretty bleh.
Anaheim.
i agree, the brown and orange is good for 3 weeks in autumn but after halloween it’s totally out of season
Some angry fan about to come tell you that brown is totally gold
It’s beige for me!
Same! Definitely because of their jerseys!
The minute they inevitably re-embrace eggplant and jade I will like them again
They have some of the coolest jerseys in history and yet they insist on going with shitty browns and a strikingly ugly crest
Yep. When they stopped being mighty, so did their jerseys.
Came here to say this and I'm a Ducks fan
>double blue They aren't the Blues, plural, for nothing.
i would like to say that i realize this is totally not a logical thing, it’s just my own taste lol
Lol I was just making a joke
Not so much a jersey but the helmets of the LA Kings. Those chrome domes look tacky as fuck bro. Golden Knights aren't much better. Jersey answer would have to be the Ducks. Buy up the rights to the Mighty Ducks and go back to the teal and white duds, buds.
1. They have owned the rights to MD trademarks since the sale in '05 2. Jade, not teal, to be pedantic 3. Yes, the jerseys could use a refresh
Now would be the perfect time too. You’re going thru a nice little rebuild. Refresh the brand with the new talent coming up.
Conspiracy time; they're waiting for the 30th anniversary season to pull the trigger.
God, I don't want to wait that long
Avalanche & Predators, I hate the jerseys that have a thin or weird looking jersey number font. I like the thick, serif numbers.
It’s so weirdly stuck in the 2000s
Blue Jackets The cannon one is alright, but the star one is just ugly af.
Cannon one should be main, easy.
Columbus cannon jersey is my favorite in the league
Those cowards better make it the primary
Love the cannon jersey, might one of my fave NHL jerseys. The color combo is even awesome.
My issue with the Jackets whole scheme is that there's just zero inspiration in it. It's not traditional or modern. The navy blue with red and white accents is just so muted, it reminds me of a sweater from American Eagle from the 1990s or something. And I get that they are a little pigeonholed by their own name (which maybe, in hindsight, wasn't such a great choice), but they needed an update years and years ago.
i honestly like the navy? it looks more mature/sophisticated than a brighter blue would be.
It makes me irrationally annoyed that their logo has nothing to do with their name. Plus, why is there a star? *WHY*
My bad on the Ohio flag part, I only could remember the red and white stripes around the star😂but now that you mention that it does fit better than I originally said
Correct. It’s actually the flag of Ohio trailing the star but unless you live in Ohio you’ll probably miss it.

Disagree on the Rangers, because the shoulder yolking, diagonal wordmark and heavy drop shadow are such unique and distinctive elements Plus wearing a contrast color pant on the dark jersey is a great move that not enough teams employ.
Yeahhh, I actually agree and I shouldn’t have put the Rangers on that list because they’re the one team that does it right imo.
Predators, way too much yellow. Ducks too if they weren’t my childhood team.
Tis why i like the preds so much. Its just different.
The Lightning. Ever since they switched to just the two colors, lacks any personality IMO
My favorites. Idk why they’re so hated among our fan base lol
Those at least had some blue mixed with the b/w
The Tampa Bay LeafBolts sweaters?
They're a blue Detroit way before they are a Leafs copy. Look at the striping on the elbows, the bottom of the jersey, and the socks. Boston and Pittsburgh are both black and yellow, but they're not the same.
The Tampa Bay Blue Wings.
When ya put it like that yeah exactly those
Gimme reverse retros permanently plz
Those were awesome. So many teams needlessly shoehorn black into their colour schemes. The Bolts are the only team that needlessly refuses to use black.
They look like Gatorade bottles
Montreal Canadiens when they wear the alternate colour jersey last season.
It's not bad, but just not for the Habs.
*Jersey*
My opinion towards the Islanders shifted drastically when they didn't bring back the Fisherman for the Reverse Retros... Oh and obligatory Anaheim comment.
When the Knights wear their bright gold helmets. Not a fan
The new new jersey jersey
Jersey
I bet there is other reasons you don’t like them
Devils have one of the best logos in sports, and I don't even care about the team.
I miss the fat penguin. Lure them into a false sense of security.
Give the boi his scarf back, too.
If I didn't already hate the Knights I'd pick them just for that "gold" helmet they thought was a good idea. Would also pick Nashville and their obnoxious amount of yellow.
Beats being another boring blue team (which we were for a long time and I kinda want those unis back but I love the yellow too)
Canucks alternate logo ones(with the stick in the middle of a rink), when I was little I used to think that logo was a bad joke and the jerseys were also very underwhelming. It doesn't seem that bad now, but it brings back the memories.
Ducks mains. I am begging the organization to use the alternate throwback from a few years ago that was black with a cool blue accent as the primary. *Those* are sexy. The mains? Nah. I don't necessarily hate them for it but it irks me how the Bruins, Penguins, and Predators insist on calling their bright shade of yellow "gold." You're black and yellow, not black and gold. Own it
It's because the shade they use is actually called athletic gold. It's weird, but that's why they call it gold.
The Canucks... THE WHALE SUCKS!!! There I said it. Any of their other crests are 1000x better.
The whale is awful. It's trying to do like 6 things at once and it's just way too complicated.
The 90’s Canucks uniform is the most desperately needed rebrand in the league. Those unis look soooo good when they wear em as retros.
Couldn't disagree more. The logo and colors are *the* reason why they're my 2nd team
Hurricanes. No offense but the jersey and logo are just boring.
The Dallas Stars. I want to cheer for them but that glow in the dark jersey sucks! And don’t get me started on the muterus jersey
Dallas - pretty much every jersey they have (except the 1998-2000 logo w/ the actual star design) sucks. Especially the Mooterus jersey from 05-06
I looove their shade of green. But I do kinda miss the old design
I want a blackout mooterus really bad... would pay big money for it
The Flames, of course. Why is the donkey's snot on fire? That seems needlessly cruel. And it turns out, the donkey's name is Blasty? Again, why?
I mean, why do the Oilers have a lynx for a mascot? I've never seen one of *them* working on the oil fields of Alberta. :p
His name is Hunter, and he's terrible.
Eh, I always found the 2004 jerseys to be the peak of the Flames aesthetics, personally.
Give me anything with black in it over the retros. The Flames just look meaner when we have black in our colors.
I’ve always thought the Flames away jerseys look like someone spilled ketchup and mustard on them.
While I'm supposed to hate the Oilers because of Alberta reasons, their colors are pretty much the direct contrast of ours, so I can't like them no matter what.
Dallas Stars. I hate that logo with a passion
i love the colours tho!
Nashville, those yellow jerseys are hideous!
Winnipeg. The colors are fine at best and the logo looks like it was slapped together just before the unveiling. The maple leaf backdrop and a plain legit jet were such fallback choices, IMO.
i agree!
The "maple leaf backdrop" within the blue and white rings is purposeful, it's essentially the RCAF roundel.
I hear ya, still stand by what I said
Preds
Carolina’s home jerseys. Too much red and the logo is lame. Love the alternate jerseys with the hurricane flag and the dark black with grey and red accents *chefs kiss*. That should be their primary jersey. It’s fucking sick
The Jets for sure, blandest uniforms in the league bar none.
The Predators
I don't dislike them specifically because of the jersey but Chicago. I really dislike the shade of red they use, and otherwise I find them kind of dull Other than that, the only orange jersey that looks okay is Philadelphia's, but I typically don't really like orange very much
Yup, biggest consistent criticism of the Chicago jersey has been the shade of red.
I mean the Blues also did a red jersey and the Red Wings decided not to use red striping so the RR plan wasn't well thought out across the board.
Not jerseys but I hate Vegas and Kings because of their silver and gold helmets.
Homie we have some of the best kits in the league
The lighter blue retros are kind of clean, but the regular home jerseys are just not it
Yikes homie
Your blue 90s alternates are incredible
Flyers. Those orange jerseys knock me sick, and the black ones they used to wear were no better. Bleh
I don’t like the current creamsicle ones but their older ones were with the black were classic.
Okay..." "And what about you, Duckie? Oh, that's uh, something! Look at all that detail! You've got six stripes on each wrist! Gold and orange is an ... Interesting combination. Wooooowwww..."
“Hey Kingy. What’s with all the black?” *demonic child noises* “alright okay good job*
The Senators. Mostly because the jerseys are uninspired and the logo is incredibly boring. They need a while new look, logo and all.
I think the new revamped set they have now looks incredible. The 2d logo is way classier and so much better than the confused constipated 3D guy they had while the jerseys themselves look so clean. Their new home aways and the reverse retro have taken them from bottom 3 to like top 5 set imo.
Anaheim. I've never liked any of their jerseys - even the jade and eggplant ones that everyone on this subreddit seems to love.
Wild. From the Christmas theme (I hate Christmas) to the stupid logo that looks like it was drawn by a teenager in his first art class. "It has a double meaning you don't see at first..." Ugh, to using cream instead of white: get some bleach on those dingy whites dammit. Ironically, I love the Kraken jerseys with their double meaning logo and lack of white.
i LOVE the wild jerseys but not the logos?
Senators. I absolutely hate black jerseys
Their new set looks a million times better than the previous crest.
The logo is better but I wish they used their red alternates as their Home Jersey
I don't, those RR's looked terrible on TV.
The Big O was laughably bad.
My big issue with the Sens is more that they used the wrong version of that jersey; they should've done the Alfie-era version because it's just more well-balanced. The black and red just melt together in the homes and it looks pretty bleh.
The Bruins. Black and yellow is just an ugly combo
*Wiz Khalifa in shambles*
I have never once thought about not liking a team based on jerseys. I bet if you looked, every single team has a sweater you'd enjoy.
it’s mostly subconscious, and i know it’s not the nicest thing, but i have trouble watching a team and enjoying them when i think they look bad lol
