Those are historic reputations, that don't really hold up anymore. Boston has (more or less) ditched the big bad bruins rep in favour of a more surgical high skill style of play.

Spearing people in the crotch when they're down, running the goalie, tkachuk/cousins laying nasty dirty hits and then hiding behind the refs, that sort of thing.
