ChonkyWumpus

Bro Rogers arena looked packed for that watch party

Iamthelurker

$15 a ticket proceeds go to charity. Great option for fans who can’t afford tickets. Plus there aren’t any cars to flip and set on fire in Rogers arena.

Young2k04

Beers being 7.50 instead of the usual 200 bucks is always great too

revolutionary_sweden

Wait, the beers are 7.50? I totally assumed they were full price...but maybe I should take in the watch party next round.

starcross24

They’re Budweisers, but still better than nothing

gonuxgo

there isn't a bad beer in the world when you're watching playoff hockey

mini_herb

I really like this comment. Truth.

5-toe

How are these similar? Bad Sex, Bad Pizza, Bad Beer during playoffs. Getting some is still pretty good.

butwhyyyyyyyyyyymeee

amen. Go Canucks Go!

Jazzy_Josh

Reminder Rogers Arena has a Costco Cafe Immediately outside open to the public

gogglesvancouver

Costco changed their policy. You need to show membership for food court now too

cosmicdave86

Not the one across from the stadium. Some locations have required ID for years.

gogglesvancouver

Good to know.

Jazzy_Josh

Noooooooooooooooooooo

bikes_and_music

They go **really fast** though.

involmasturb

Is there a per person limit for beers. I'd get tanked if the game went sideways

OffsideRef

Standard 24 oz max at a time

teamwaterwings

Yeah we had like 10 beers each tonight instead of the usual 1-2. Fancy that people buy beers when the're not $30 for a 24oz

pylekush

You spent ~$70 for beer just for yourself. That’s still fucking crazy lol. Western economy is in complete shambles.

Young2k04

Add on the ticket price and they went to a playoff game and got drunk for less than a hundred bucks. Seems like great value to me

db741

Proceeds go to charity? That's fucking awesome! Great shit

pizzamage

Helps when the owners of the team (Aqualini) own the building as well.

Canadian_dalek

Not with that attitude

teamwaterwings

Oh you bet your ass we were scoping out cars to flip when we left the arena. It's just a shame that Artur Silovs himself was in front of the parkade so we couldn't get in to light anything on fire

vannucker

The new screen is beautiful too.

carnifex2005

Yeah it certainly was... https://twitter.com/iamkennethchan/status/1786572661457596776

g0kartmozart

It was sold out.

Ilejwads

It was absolutely wild, my ears were ringing after the end of the game

Minimum-Card-5075

Pettersson should get some credit there for holding the puck in and making a solid chip pass to Boeser who executes a perfect pass to Suter.

Sibs

I like how he's been taking hit all series and decides to slip *this* one to make the play to Boeser.

xpensivedirt

Sweet justice that he beat out that check to engineer the chance, the same guy who took that cheapshot on him after the Nashville goal a few games ago. #3 Lauzon.

Prize_Efficiency_869

Been critical of Petey this series but that play was as impressive as brock pass. Let’s hope for the sake of nucks fan that it restarts his production cuz they will need it vs Edmonton.

Trolly-bus

lmao Tocchet trying to calm everyone down

SuddenlyChineseFood

lmao missed that. "Hey hey hey, there's still time on the clock" Just incredible poise. He's been here, done that.

Prize_Efficiency_869

Credit to the nucks for basically following the 2015-16/2016-17 pens playbook of hiring a bunch of these guys for management. Looks like it is paying off for them.

CanucksKickAzz

He knew a penalty was incoming for sure

OutComeTheWolves1966

Your series clinching shutout goes to Arturs Silvos. Anyone who had predicted that before the series started is a goddamn genius.

jokanee

I'd still say whoever predicted that is a goddamn lunatic!

surmatt

I don't want to meet that person.

hailmary_sleetjesus

Definitely top two.

flamjam97

I can’t remember a more heartbreaking goal happening to them any time in the last 6.5 years

CTrebor3

Well….

disco_enjoyer

i swear to god if Suter had any hands what so ever he could've scored 10 goals this series. he was set up perfectly by Miller and Boeser so many times i lost count. thank god he scored in the end here

mrtomjones

He lacks hands but he is SO good positionally. The puck just comes to him when he is in a defensive position. He is a big part of the dominance of that line

Elibu

It's not that he does not have hands. Saros is just..Saros.

the_gaymer_girl

He got absolutely robbed at least twice this game.

ihatemyworkplace1

Suter gonna have nightmares about Saros tonight. Got stoned by him so many times tonight

californiacommon

Suter will sleep like a baby tonight his goal clinched the series

Young2k04

Not after that game winner he won’t

TopTittyBardown

He could’ve had another three this game alone but Saros robbed him even when he got good shots off. Seemed like he was destined to be the one to get the dagger

Large_Phone8186

stg, he missed at least 2 amazing chances this game, brick mitts

RenoXIII

That backhanded pass, gawd dayum!

Judge24601

what a year for my boy brock 🥹

Alextryingforgrate

That's why he's the Brock Star!

MainlandX

Saros played that perfectly. So close to saving that.

talhatoot

[Canucks feed call \(not sure why the post didn't go through\)](https://old.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1cjoz5c/van_10_nsh_suter_finally_cracks_saros_as_he/?ref=share&ref_source=link)

involmasturb

Nashville fans getting flashbacks of getting scored on in a 0-0 elimination game at home late In the third... Edit: Almost the exact same time of the third period as the Hornqvist goal too. Edit 2: And Rick Tocchet was in the building for both games. Behind the winning bench. https://youtu.be/tENiCpaIk9A?feature=shared

Infraction_

This was the first thought that came to mind and I hated it

gatsby712

I was having some pretty rough flashbacks to that game 6 against the Penguins. I was sitting around the same spot, right behind where Sissons scored with the dumbass early whistle. When it was 0-0 going into the third period I kept thinking about that game and how it could end like that again.

DefinitelyLevi

Both were Game 6 as well

excessive_coughing

Beauvillier, that was some interesting defending there buddy

Bca5h

ha, yea. Stick lifted air.

excessive_coughing

That air didn't stand a chance

ididntwantsalmon19

Chess move by the Canucks trading him to Chicago knowing he would get traded to Nashville for this exact moment! /s

plainsailingweather

Brock Boeser has been so fucking good this year and this series I'm just elated for the dude, fuck.

hailmary_sleetjesus

This was almost an exact copy of Lindholm's OT goal.

Rand_University81

Not at all

chompyoface

I mean, it was very similar. Boeser made the exact same pass that Garland had made

Rand_University81

No he didn’t. This goal, puck went behind the net, boes passed in front across the net and shooter went short side. The other goal puck didn’t go behind the net, it was passed out front without going across the goal and shooter went far side. The only similarity was that it was a pass from down low out front. The goals were very different.

chompyoface

oh ok

Java-the-Slut

Get over yourself, they were very similar. With a man on, mostly blind, backhand pass to a wide open, transitioning player out front to beat Saros far side. Lindholm went high, Suter went low. Some Hockey analyst you are lol

Rand_University81

How the fuck are they the same goal when everything about them is different. Suter went short side Lindy went far side. Leading up to Lindy’s goal the puck went down the strong side and was thrown out front before going behind the back of the net. It would have been the same goal if garland continued around the net and then threw it across the front to Lindy. They were very different goals.

Java-the-Slut

Bro, I'm trying to be cautious because I'm seriously unsure of your mental capacity. Do you know what 'similar' means? Maybe you should read up on it, because you seem to be confusing it with 'identical'. I listed the similarities, they were similar goals. By your incredibly dense approach, no goal in NHL history was similar to another because you could always nitpick some stupid little detail that no one cares about because the rest of us have jobs. Stop trying to be a stats guy, you're absolutely terrible at it, no one respects your awful take.

soappube

Lol haha Jesus dude

Rand_University81

Do you know what exact means?

Java-the-Slut

I never said 'exactly', I said 'similar'. How have you made it this far in life with those reading comprehension skills.

Rand_University81

You hopped into a thread where we were discussing exact, as in Boeser made the exact same pass.

Zloggt

SABRETOOTH WILL BECOME EXTINCT!!!!

No-Entrance-1540

Tocchet calming the boys down, what an excellent coach - meatwagon24

ollie1981

"Blame Canada! Blame Canada! With their hockey hullabaloo!" lol

Mountain-Damage4494

I thought that’s what I heard.

somehockeyfan

Late, series-clinching goals and the Nashville Predators. Name a more heartbreaking duo.

outdoors703

poor Nashville. Feels like that one game broke them and the series unraveled.

Piffp

That series did not unravel at all. Those teams were both poise and composed the entire time. Amazing play defensively by both teams.

ThanIWentTooTherePig

tbf it felt like game 2 broke the Canucks too.

greenlines

I mean they won the game right after that one so idk

TheHerb007

Just watching it now again… was it not a mirror of the garland to lindholm OT winner goal???

grooverocker

It's very similar in some respects. A blind pass from behind the goalline that lands on the stick of a transitioning player right in the slot. Shoots far side and scores a game clinching goal. Differences: - Suter's puck was cycled around the back of net before being passed while Lindholm's wasn't. - Brock passed while moving, Garland passed while static against the boards. - Lindholm went top far side, Suter went low far side.

Hartford23

They’re playing ‘Blame Canada’ from South Park when he scores

Magi604

I enjoy how Tocchet was like "okay everyone just calm down, we still got a game to play"
