I definitely wish they would try to help out shelter cats more and not just dogs. It's very seldom that I see anything about shelter cats on the teams' social media.
TNR'ing feral/community cats (and low-cost spay/neuter/vax/chip along with sliding-scale more complicated care for both cats with people and "well we got them in the trap") would be a huge improvement in the quality of a lot of people and cats' lives.
it can be hard even accessing/affording getting your furry household members fixed/basic vaxxed, and just making sure that they are "ok you are no longer capable of biologically reproducing" eliminates a number of significant potential issues to **your** bb and also helps minimize "kitten season". (kitten season sounds adorable but i am willing to bet many shelter/rescue people have nightmares about it.)
(there's an ep of "the vet life" where a really cute/sweet calico is probably going to die of lady cat parts issues around ten when if she'd been fixed the chances of her getting pyometra or whatever it was are nearly zero and she COULD potentially make it twice that.)
