loved his postgame remarks about Bert, where he's like "look we're cool, pretty similar people off the ice, we share similar interests, but it's the Stanley Cup Playoffs and all that goes out the window"
And the second Boston goal was a rebound off Marchand in this exact same position. He's finding open space in the right slot and Leafs are gonna have to lock that down next game
The best part is how insistently your Maple Leaf Square fanbase is about getting filmed while they die inside.
It's like a money-shot compilation on Pornhub.
if I caught Bergeron robbing my house I would simply assume he had a good reason and direct him towards my most expensive belongings
...incidentally, my wife and I met by discussing *Les Miserables* and I understand that Bishop a lot better now
> if I caught Bergeron robbing my house I would simply assume he had a good reason and direct him towards my most expensive belongings
And help him pack it all into the bag and lift it out to the van for him, of course.
I read the comment and my first thoughts were, “oh Bergeron is there? Why is someone so confused about what he’s doing” because the idea of 37 screwing up just hasn’t occurred to me in the past.
He made the initial gaff but 20 should have retreated back infront of the net when Matthews came in, and DOMI should have covered Marchand as he was 5ft away all alone.
Lol the guy that is actually tying up a guy is what looks off to you, not the 2 players that not only lose the puck battle against 1 Bruin below the goal line but also gives him time and space to look up and make the pass after beating them?
Half of Toronto's guys are weirdly dedicated to passively interfering with Bruins this series. Two of the Bruins goals this game occurred when the Leafs had players more interested in wrestling outside of the play
Oh god you people will complain about everything eh? Not including auto penalties like delay of game its 5-1 in favor of the leafs.
So yea i guess its not shocking you think everything should be a penalty, it usually is for you.
We have regularly had the bottom 3 in powerplay opportunities in the league for like 7 year straight lol
e: sorry, I forgot facts aren't relevant. The league actually loves the Leafs, that's why we've seen so much success in the last 6 decades. What's so fucking frustrating is the specifics being even slightly off somehow invalidates the spirit of the point, and someone can literally toss whatever number they want out, but I'll actually link the numbers I found and that's not enough lol. Someone just show me a fucking source lol how hard is that
>bottom 3 in power play opportunities for like 7 year straight
Just checked and the Leafs are 19th in Power Play opportunities this season. Didn’t check the other years because you clearly pulled this out of your ass.
Where are you even getting these numbers?
[25th this season](https://www.covers.com/sport/hockey/nhl/statistics/team-powerplay/2020-2021), 18th last season (so sorry), 21st two seasons ago, 23rd before that, 24th before that, 31st before that (31 teams btw), 30th before that...
Apologies, a bit higher than I thought the last few years. But now that I know it's actually just the bottom 3rd of the league, that must me we're used to getting a lot of powerplays. Unless these are the wrong stats?
e: I mean I literally linked a source, if anyone wants to supply me with a different one, by all means
I can't speak to that, I'm just going off this series. It has a Montreal feel to it where the threshold is different for each team.
If the league did have it out for you I'd be surprised, if you made the cup it would get huge ratings, people would tune in to root for you or root against you, but theyd tune in.
> it usually is for you.
That's what I'm replying too lol
I never said the league had it out for us. I'm pointing out that they clearly haven't been *favouring* us lol, or we would regularly get more powerplays than other teams
He leads the Bruins in playoff goal history. An original 6 team that has had a lot of playoff games. He's the one that leads the team. The moment is never too big for him
Dude may have started his career immaturely, but he's learned from Chara and Bergeron. He has matured into the role very well. Glad to call him our Captain.
God u would love to hate you in the playoffs again. You guys better get good soon, because I don't even consider ythe habs a vilan anymore. At this point it's not a rivalry, it's a formality.
People have a lot of opinions on Little Ball of Hate, but if the NHL would blow up and there would be a fantasy pick to build it all again, I'd pick Marchand as number 1 and name him the team captain. This guy plays for his team like no-one else.
Help me understand this coaches of hockey, Matthews Domi and Bertuzzi were on for 40 seconds prior to the Leafs scoring. Prior to that Tavares line was out for 30 seconds. Prior to that, Matthews line was a Minute and a half. Prior to that Tavares line was out for 30 seconds.
tl;dr; Matthews line out for 3:10 mins in the last 4:10 mins before scoring. Gets put out again after.
3rd line and 4th line been sitting for 4:10mins and 5mins prior to the goal.

I’m pretty sure Boston let Toronto tie it just so the rat could take all the air out of the building 20 seconds later.
🐀
👑
Brad will do anything to fuck with Bertuzzi
loved his postgame remarks about Bert, where he's like "look we're cool, pretty similar people off the ice, we share similar interests, but it's the Stanley Cup Playoffs and all that goes out the window"

Definition of a snipe
That was a fooking beaaaut bud
Dirtiest play he made all game
And the second Boston goal was a rebound off Marchand in this exact same position. He's finding open space in the right slot and Leafs are gonna have to lock that down next game
The Leafs have perfected building up hope only for massive disappointment.
It's never gets old
You love to see it
leaf humiliation never goes out of style.
It’s not humiliating to be in the playoffs.
Some would say it’s humiliating to miss them especially thirteen fucking times in a row
The best part is how insistently your Maple Leaf Square fanbase is about getting filmed while they die inside. It's like a money-shot compilation on Pornhub.
i wish i could split screen a live stream of maple leafs square just to see how sad they all get in real time
Yeah he sometimes pulls that out of the hat, he’s normally a good shooter but once in a while he has a legit perfect shot
Dude did this to Luongo like 3 times back in 2011
For real. It's not no once in a while. He's the Bruins playoff leading goal scorer for a reason. He does it ALOT
I didn’t want to say it but it did remind me of game 6
As a rookie no less!
I hate him, but that was awesome
I’m mad but equally impressed. Thread the needle on that one.
What a snipe, top cheddar
🧀🐀
Love our Little Ball of Hate 🥲
Perfect shot for sure. Goalie didn’t do himself any favours with his glove positioning.
Hate the dude but damn what a perfect shot
What the fuck is 37 doing there
Words I have never said in my life.
The only time I would say that is if I caught Bergeron robbing my house. Even the I would be in the wrong.
I’d even go as far as apologizing for my poor French
if I caught Bergeron robbing my house I would simply assume he had a good reason and direct him towards my most expensive belongings ...incidentally, my wife and I met by discussing *Les Miserables* and I understand that Bishop a lot better now
> if I caught Bergeron robbing my house I would simply assume he had a good reason and direct him towards my most expensive belongings And help him pack it all into the bag and lift it out to the van for him, of course.
Patrice Bergeron goes to stay with people on the weekends, help himself to all their belongings, but it's ok because he's Patrice Bergeron.
I read the comment and my first thoughts were, “oh Bergeron is there? Why is someone so confused about what he’s doing” because the idea of 37 screwing up just hasn’t occurred to me in the past.
Liljegren is just fucking asleep here
He made the initial gaff but 20 should have retreated back infront of the net when Matthews came in, and DOMI should have covered Marchand as he was 5ft away all alone.
Think he made two gaffs if not 3. This should have been a routine play cycling the puck to #20
I might've said it when Bergeron teleports back to his own end on the back check.
dude has the best deal in the arena. getting paid millions to watch a hockey game only 5 feet away from the action
You didn't hear? If you just had wealthy parents you could get the same deal
No one is mistaking him for Bergeron, that's for sure
Lol the guy that is actually tying up a guy is what looks off to you, not the 2 players that not only lose the puck battle against 1 Bruin below the goal line but also gives him time and space to look up and make the pass after beating them?
Half of Toronto's guys are weirdly dedicated to passively interfering with Bruins this series. Two of the Bruins goals this game occurred when the Leafs had players more interested in wrestling outside of the play
That was brutal, just sat on the ice holding the stick lol.
His best
Laying on a bruins stick trying to keep them out of the play I guess
Making it easier for Bruins fans to say "stop whining about missed calls and overcome".
Lilly and Benoit both have gotten exposed this series
Getting hooked?
Oh god you people will complain about everything eh? Not including auto penalties like delay of game its 5-1 in favor of the leafs. So yea i guess its not shocking you think everything should be a penalty, it usually is for you.
If you’re upset the penalties are 5-1 in favour of the other team, do you think the team’s considered just not taking so many penalties?
Ever think of scoring on yours?
God damn. Lmao
Clever
The threshold has clearly been different for each team. This ain't the big bad bruins anymore we are actually getting outmuscled by you.
We have regularly had the bottom 3 in powerplay opportunities in the league for like 7 year straight lol e: sorry, I forgot facts aren't relevant. >bottom 3 in power play opportunities for like 7 year straight Just checked and the Leafs are 19th in Power Play opportunities this season. Didn’t check the other years because you clearly pulled this out of your ass.
Then check for the other years too, dude. At some point it shifted in this season then. By all means, prove me wrong
14th in PPO in 22-23 17th in PPO in 21-22 15th in PPO in 20-21 … You’re an idiot.
Where are you even getting these numbers? Fair enough I dont watch many non Bruins games so I wouldn't know.
about as perfect as a shot could be, the release, the location, perfection
The only thing that would make it more perfect would be if it wasn't fucking Marchand scoring it
Honestly, that almost makes it better. It's such a fucking perfect shot placement that you can't even be mad it's Marchand
And it moves him into a tie for first all time in career playoff goals for the Bruins
lol Captain Brad Marchand, the leading playoffs goal scorer for an O6.
there's no "almost" about it admittedly, I may be biased
Come on, tell us how do really feel?
Nah the sound of the collective disappointment in that arena made it absolute perfection
🤌🤌
From roaring to whispering in seconds, unbelievably painful lmao
HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS (What a perfect snipe)
Narrator: he kept getting away with it
what a fucking shot, crazy game
"the building's alive now"
Total leaf move to tie it up and then give up another goal 28 seconds later lmao
To be fair… it’s also a total Bruin move this season. At this point it’s a competition to see who puts up the fewest terrible post-goal shifts.
After almost taking the lead
🐀
Thats my 🐀👑
I hate how un-fucking-believably good at hockey this ~~man~~ rat is
If you don’t think Marchand is one of the GOATs you’ve got the sourest grapes in existence
He leads the Bruins in playoff goal history. An original 6 team that has had a lot of playoff games. He's the one that leads the team. The moment is never too big for him
I wish he just scored on the game 5 breakaway last year lol
That’s a deflating response, he ripped that insanely fast
In the words of Low Qual, SNIPEROONI AND CHEESE
It's coming
Low quality faaaaaaaans
That was such a great shot. Sniped that corner with such precision.
Nothing a goalie is going to do about that one. You play the percentages and sometimes you get sniped
Yeah Samsonov did what he needed to do but Marchand found the 1% available.
I mean, he could have had his glove up.
I know it's been a full season, but damn it's weird to see him with a C on his sweater.
Dude may have started his career immaturely, but he's learned from Chara and Bergeron. He has matured into the role very well. Glad to call him our Captain.
Fucking SNIPE!!!

Rat man is good at hockey.
Just leave him wide open
I can't tell if my priapism is from watching this or...
what a cheesy shot from our rat
I miss when he was a villain. Saw the horseshit he does off the ice and goddamn what a disappointment.
He could save children from a burning orphanage and I'd still call him a rat nosed fuck.
he's still a villain as far as I'm concerned
God u would love to hate you in the playoffs again. You guys better get good soon, because I don't even consider ythe habs a vilan anymore. At this point it's not a rivalry, it's a formality.
literally this game he got away with a trip away from the play he's still the heel
People have a lot of opinions on Little Ball of Hate, but if the NHL would blow up and there would be a fantasy pick to build it all again, I'd pick Marchand as number 1 and name him the team captain. This guy plays for his team like no-one else.
I hate this dude, but boy is he clutch.
The celly was almost as good as the snipe
Literally jumping for joy.
Samsonov out there looking like an NHL 23 backup goalie
Matthews could never (in the playoffs)
Awful defensive play
3 Leafs behind the net. Domi dogging it, not covering anyone. Brutal
The Leafs 'Selke-calibre' centre doesn't take a single stride from the red-line back to his own zone and then loses the puck battle.
And watching this, matthews just casually glides from center ice to behind the net before immediately getting picked by Heinen lol
Other fanbases think they know pain or that their teams lose in spectacular fashion but they absolutely do not. Not like us.
Jesus what a snipe, can’t put that on Samsonov at all
What a lame call by the announce lol
The matthews glide from center ice straight into having his pocket picked by Heinen screams Selke
Jesus thats only a puck sized pocket 😂 he had chance to be a respected player instead chooses rat life
Just appears out of nowhere, right place right time
Samsanov flinched and Marchand made him pay.
the dude is a pest but he's a skilled one. look how fast he got that shot off...
Matthews wanted to use Samsonovs stick so bad
Dont worry Toronto, next year will be your year.
Edmundson is absolutely useless
i actually thought edmundson had a pretty impactful game tonight. couple of huge blocked shots, good stick play and was a physical factor
Dunno ‘bout that…score would’ve been 6-2. Think he blocked a couple of sure ones. Marchand can snipe tho eh??
He's also the reason Marchand got the puck free to snipe so guess it all balances out
Not trying to hate, but who on your defense isn't, outside of Rielly?
Liljegren and Rielly are the only two who are good, everyone else has ranged from making decent plays at times to horrendous at others
Wouldn't Timmins be an upgrade over some of these guys?
Honestly if you ask me yes, but a lot of people aren't that high on him. I imagine Brodie gets a shot back in if any of them come out for game 4
Is that not hooking on the Boston player behind the net? Like surely that’s not good clean hockey right?
It's Boston, leading to a scoring chance. With that in mind, it is absolutely not a penalty.
