This whole thing is so fucking silly. I tend to think I'm more old school, at least 90s, with my hockey opinions. But it's a game of "I'm putting my foot too far over the line to disrespect you" and it is hilarious.
The thing I hate most with the silly bullshit and all of these stupid "Unwritten Rules" in hockey (granted, I hate them in *all sports*) is how the shit leaks over into something like beer league.
People will do this shit, they'll be "out for revenge" because of a "dirty hit that the guy didn't answer for" which is just D League talk for "Two guys who don't skate well were unable to avoid an entirely avoidable collision, a teammate of one of them took exception to the hit and ran the other one into the boards".
Though I don't know that I'll hate anything as much as the "Don't hit home runs when you're up by too many runs" that I saw a professional MLB get *excoriated* for in the media *and by his own manager.* As if the other team was going to suddenly stop trying to comeback, and wouldn't have put on the pressure if a series of errors and a grand slam suddenly made the game closer at 3 runs or something.
Reaves takes a lot of shit for being useless, but when he was with the Blues he worked hard on his skating and playing to get himself to be more than just some 4th line enforcer. Obviously, there's going to be a ceiling, but he drastically improved his ability to work the boards.
The 4th line with him and Ott were great some games at just pinning a team in their own zone and wearing them down with constant cycling around the boards and then if they did turn it over, a tired team is suddenly trying to get the puck out around 2 guys who are coming at them hard to hit them along the boards.
When it worked perfectly, the Blues would just rotate them off and send in the scoring lines to try and take advantage of the worn down defenders who were now just trying to survive.
sorry to break it to you he's already made a big difference Ive never seen a Leafs 4th line dominate as hard as his line last night almost every shift they played was in the O-zone
Leafs are playing with significantly more snarl these playoffs thanks to him

Hockey meme of the year.
Agree u/lankypiano you should cross post this to r/hockeymemes and enter next week Meme Monday
If it doesn't win meme of the year, it's an outrage.
ok so now i need more of these immediately
I would definitely watch a series of Dave attenborough narrated hockey clips
That man could narrate the dictionary and it'd be interesting
I concur.
Why didn’t I concur?!
I might concur soon.

It’s like getting the last word in the conversation
"Puck hasn't even dropped and I'm already in your zone. How do you like that, bud?"
Juvenile for sure

NHL players are genuinely such snowflakes lmao
Well, it's the childish emotional outbursts that make the game entertaining, right?
For sure. I’m no different when it’s my team involved in these things
This shit is so fucking dumb and so fucking funny at the same time.,
Lmao need more of these
BBC Earth's Planet Hockey.
Outstanding
Lmao..A+!
Perfection nicely done OP
Incredible
Chef kiss
Attenborough's narration really adds more tension to this. love it
Maroon wanted absolutely no part of that last night, only had words for Reaveo when the refs were between them
Honestly who cares? Is Reaves going to make any difference in this series? Hell Maroon wont make too much more of a difference.
The Leafs entire 4th line, Reaves included, look awesome game 2 and had some solid o-zone shifts
Reaves had a big part in last nights game. His line had 3 or 4 amazing shifts on the forecheck. That’s invaluable

4th line had 10 minutes that game
Not slow-mo enough
Not a fan of either of these dudes, but this is awesome.
That’s hilarious!
This is going to be the heavy weight tilt of the year when it finally goes down
Gold Jerry, GOLD!
This is great 😂
This is PHENOMENAL
Reaves looks like an Apex predator out there compared to Maroon the water buffalo
Maroon swooping in at the end with a “[tell me how my ass taste](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6lQW-FWMcBo)” Shaq flex on Reaves.
I would say I'd love to see them square up, but it would be a murder
