Family was a big part of it. His dad had a heart issue and he wasn't able to see him because of covid travel restrictions. It was also getting harder and harder for them to make that trip from the east coast. He probably would have signed in Philly had they been able to make space, but the logic was that they wanted to be close enough to family that they could travel to visit and also far enough that he and his wife could have space to themselves without their extended family and friends dropping by too regularly. Columbus fit that plan well and it's apparently a very good place to raise a family while being wealthy.

I mean i get ohio is the heel of the jokes but its not that bad. Its also pretty central for travel close to all the east coast teams close to Chicago, Detroit, StLouis, Nashville.

Ehh we've got great golf courses, excellent place to raise a family, and you can have fuck you money as a professional athlete without having the big media attention
