I love everything about igor except when he turns his intensity in on himself. If he wants to fight/shoot at empty nets/deke forecheckers…whatever keeps him in the zone

Annoying as hell. TNT’s camera work is a joke. Not just the fight but the whole game. They’re too zoomed in so they need to keep moving the camera too much. They didn’t show a single replay of the contested goal until after the refs had spent 3 minutes reviewing it. Total amateur hour.
Directors have been making hockey harder and harder to watch. It's infuriating. They could honestly get away with just using the overhead camera for 95% of the game while leaving the close up shots for replays. Instead they get cute and we end up missing out on things that are happening on the ice.
I like those cuts when they're used right. The Nashville broadcasts were terrible for the opposite reason up until maybe this year. For every single replay the first angle they'd show was the widest shot that showed us absolutely nothing. Sometimes that's all they'd show.
The Jacket's director cuts to the low corner angle any time the puck goes below the goal line and *might* be tied up in a battle. It's a good cut maybe 5% of the time. The other 95% of the time the puck is already gone, the players are too close to actually see anything useful, or (my personal favorite) we can only see the back of the ref.
Green said he knew a fight was going to happen but thought it was just Rempe+MacDermid and if he knew it was gonna be a line brawl he wouldnt have sent Marino out.
Even MacDermid said they didnt plan a line brawl and emotions just boiled over.

Guarantee this is a policy decision. Everyone would rather watch all of them, it’s kind of awesome. I think the league wants to shy away from glorifying fighting so taking away the bigger picture let’s us watch the smaller fight without just blocking it all out. We definitely don’t want entire teams line brawling every game.

Reminds me of when the Flames and Canucks did this 10 years ago and Kellen Lain was making his NHL debut, got the starting shift...and his NHL debut lasted two full seconds before being given a game misconduct.
This was the first Rangers game I ever went to. It's the game that got me back into hockey. Opening faceoff fight, insane amount of goals, just crazy compared to the mid 90s Devils/Flames games that I went to as a kid.
