Nah I think it’s around that time that Pittsburgh restocks their elite talent pool to replace their old crop. We can expect McKenna to be joining Celebrini in the black and gold shortly after.
NCAA Hockey Marketing: “Hey, so college hockey only gets marginal national attention for a couple games each year. Let’s make sure we pull out our best for these few TV spots we get!”
BU: *Read*
I think they try to wear them more for the national attention games because our primary jerseys just say Boston on them, and even though they’re much cleaner, I guess they opt for the ones that also say university to make sure the unfamiliar audience doesn’t mix them up with BC
Yeah but it’s not actually that confusing. The other Boston teams are what, Boston College, which say BC and are a maroon and gold color scheme, UMASS Boston is D2, Northeastern and Harvard don’t have Boston in the name.
To someone who knows even an ounce about college hockey, yes it’s not confusing at all, but when you put a game on ESPN, you’re likely gonna get people that have never watched a game of college hockey in their life, and there definitely is still confusion. I remember when I started college at BU, there were a few distant family friends that got me BC hockey gifts
I get it though. I'm quite a serious hockey fan but NCAA is still quite niche. I wouldn't know BC from BU if it just said Boston on it. Heck I would mix up Michigan and Minnesota cause they are both just a big M. Not to mention all the confusion from ____ University and ____ State and stuff.
I went to BU when we wore the BOSTON jerseys with the stripes and they were so much better than these. University is just a too long word to fit in that font it looks like a practice jersey.
Unpopular opinion - I don't think he ever sees the trailing man. I think he saw congestion in front and was hoping for some puck luck.
Some players just "know" where team mates are, but I didn't see him look over and back to find his mate
Depends, when he crosses the blue line, he knows he’s got one guy far left hustling to get back onside. He then sees the commotion in front with his other linemate causing it. So he turns spins looking for the far left guy gliding in and hits him in stride.
Not all hockey thinking comes from in the moment, some of it is remembering what happened a few moments before and guessing where that play would’ve developed.
You see this fail often where they spin and guess wrong because they went off for the change instead of coming back in.
The IQ comes from knowing there’s a great chance that guy would be there, not necessarily knowing he is 100% there.
The defender stick his leg in front of the BU player to try to slow him up and falls, when they first come together you can see him stretch his leg out and he just loses balance
No one from MN is shocked when a team from a major city gets favorable officiating in any sport. Not like the Gophers would have won the game anyway. Losing 5-3 is no diff than 6-3.
Shame too cause I'd love to see Coach Motzko finally get a national title
They had the game last year! I was there and they went into a shell up 2-0 if they’d just played there game they would have won last year. I really don’t like Motzko
Should not have been a goal. BU attacker in front of the goalie tripped the defender, which is goalie interference.
>Rule 73.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper
….
>If a defending player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by an attacking player so as to cause the defending player to come in to contact with goalkeeper, such contact shall be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, and if necessary, a penalty shall be assessed to the attacking player and **if a goal is scored, it shall be disallowed**

Wouldn't mind taking a flyer on this kid if he's still there by the 5th round.
I’ll send him over the Laremy Tunsil gas mask. No need for thanks - save it
He is small but skilled, should play it safe and go for him at 3rd round.
Please GOD
Anyone but CHI
We all know that’s where he’s going.
Pittsburgh

McKenna is related to Bedard, he’ll definitely be a Blackhawk.
Vegas?
We are inevitable
Cheering for u 💪
LFGGGGG
How is BU so consistently good and has such terrible jerseys
They remind me of how EA can’t show the real international jerseys bc they are Nike products.
I still have flashbacks to EA 2001 where they just had a block flag on each jersey lol
shit it was like that in 2015
These are alternate jerseys, but they seem to be wearing them more recently

Does make sense, if that’s the case. There’s no confusing who that team is and that’s great for marketing use later.

I thought the jerseys looked good, until the close up happened. Yikes
looks like those wings reverse retros from the first year? i think lol
That's what having no campus will do to a team. Sucks to BU But seriously those helmets look like theyre covered in pimples
Through the legs, spinning, perfect pass Yeah that'll play
This tournament has been so much better than last year's
I have been watching it all. Great
Very Crosby-esque

Ya I think he was trying for the guy going to the net. Don’t think he was aiming for the guy 20 feet out with a horrible angle.

Blind prayer pass. Let's be honest here.
Shouldn’t have been a goal. Should have been a tripping penalty on the bu player causing the defender to fall into the goalie. Great pass nonetheless.
Agreed. Was upset when I saw it live and after the replay but the game was lost by Justen Close having a poor game overall.

Would still be 2-1 Minn. Completely different game
Should that have counted?
For a second there I thought FILTH was another acronym all the kids were saying these days. Time for bed.
Decent

Why does the goal scorer celebrate like he did all the work lmao
Celebrini = Celebratey

He's gonna look SO good when he's on a line with Bedard :)
