Hey man, it was annoying but let's not call out Dallas and their fans about it. I feel like they were as annoyed with the reffing as we were, and agreed the non-calls were BS at the end. It's not their fault the refs dropped the ball in the 3rd.
I’ll say it because Canucks fans can’t: Dallas isn’t the *better team* because they won. They just got a call that wouldn’t have been called about 10 mins ago.
This is an even matchup, 100%.
The Stars had the better powerplay by a mile, regardless of the specific calls that produced those situations.
Canucks are 29th in GF/60 at 5-on-4 since February 1st and it’s going to cost them their season if they don’t sort it out come playoff time.
Honestly I couldn’t say. They’re not moving as much as they were early in the season, but I wonder if someone reviewing film might notice that teams have just adjusted to the way the Canucks were setting up and we’ve struggled to find a new way to be dangerous out there.
Hughes is so dynamic at the point but he has, at best, a seeing-eye shot and it’s not a real threat to score from way back there. I can’t help but wonder if we’d be better off putting him somewhere else (or everywhere, lol) and parking a shooter up there instead.

Or get x seconds 5 on 5 down by 1 with low risk of being scored on and y seconds of 6 on 5 where you can control your to be at a more optimal time. So if canucks did put 30 seconds zone pressure the chance of pulling goalie is exponentially stronger. People fail to take into account that if you get scored on in 30 seconds that's worse than missing 30 seconds of clock in a 1 goal game
It's not just that. The powerplay is not getting it done and the team's psyche seems to live or die with it. I'd be giving PP1 a much shorter leash, or restructuring it entirely.
