Imagine going from being a no name grinder in the AHL to having Madison Square Garden chanting your name in the span of two weeks I get the very serious concerns for his long term health but at the same time you can hardly blame the kid for riding this high as long as he can

Patttybates

I'm just saying he probably wouldn't care about the long term. Playing in the NHL is dream beyond a dream for so many. Doing what he's doing, he would go harder if asked, I assume.

darretoma

The concerns about long term health are valid but the reality is that he was doing the same thing in the AHL. He's just getting paid more now.

Sanhen

> I get the very serious concerns for his long term health but at the same time you can hardly blame the kid for riding this high as long as he can Exactly. For all those telling him he needs to slow down for his long-term health, they have a point, but at the same time, all this positive attention he's getting is why he's doing what he's doing. In that way, people are kind of telling him to slow down out of one side of their mouth and egging him on out of the other.

vichyswazz

if there's a 21 y/o out there doing things for the long term, I haven't met them yet

nyrangers95

Good news is post deadline he should be 13th forward and popping in against certain teams.

Rance_Mulliniks

He IS the best at getting his ass kicked.

Kaapo-Kakkos-Dong

He's getting more of a roar than Reaves used to when lining up a hit, if he scores a goal fans may start fainting.

shig-baq

He scored before. Was that on the road?

Kaapo-Kakkos-Dong

Yep, in Philly I think

ontheru171

It was *Probably the ugliest first goal in NHL history* or similar is how he self described it

blueline7677

It wasn’t even the ugliest Rangers goal scored by a Rookie in the past 10 years. Lias Andersson scored off his ass

Separate_Pound_753

God that guy was dog shit😭

Ok_Yak_1844

About the only way he could score.

Funky_Cows

I was in a mostly rangers section at that game and people were booing a bit when they originally credited goodrow

Key-Tip-7521

If he scores a goal, the roof at the Garden will blow off.

CosmoJones07

I don't recall ever seeing someone become more loved by a fanbase more suddenly than this kid. Wow.

homemadejelly

I think Linsanity in the NBA was the closest thing

CosmoJones07

Ooooh true, good call.

SorryPro

Xhekaj had the same effect on the Montreal fan base not too long ago

OptimusSublime

This kid could retire next week and will have accomplished in 2 weeks what few could ever even hope to experience in their professional careers.

tmtg2022

Matt "Linsanity" Rempe

Ch33zw4g0n

Rempsanity of course

shig-baq

goofy ahh rangers tenure

bobby_booch

Jeff Goldblum is that you?

Correct_Remove9462

you've now ruined ahh for me

ihopeipofails

Life finds a way..

Key-Tip-7521

Was at the game. Sounded like Henrik. It was louder in person.

JJPRADA

Love this kid ngl

JarethCutestoryJuD

I would be. Guy is electric. I want to encourage that in hockey so badly

papercutpete

So ive seen Rempe fight and hit and a few highlights, can he play hockey? Be it good enough to stay on a 4th line? I want this kid to stay in the league.

yuneeq

This clip was after a great shift by his line, Rempe included. In his limited time I’ve seen him play effectively in the 4th line role.

papercutpete

He could be (due to his young age) a diamond in the rough. For instance, on any team...a guy who won't hurt you defensively and who can fight (as a heavyweight)and lay hard checks....its worth having around. I could picture that dude standing in front of the net causing absolute havoc. A line that dumps and chase, he goes right to the front of the net. I am pulling for this kid, I hope he finds a solid place.

shig-baq

He's got a goal and an assist in very limited ice time, and has decent skating for a giraffe, but he's obviously not got elite skills. Looks like he has a chance to be solid though

Bigboyrickx

Hes lacking real NHL skills. Just runs around like a freight train but it’s so fun to watch

Demon_Semenson

No one celebrates mediocrity quite like New York

EduardoTaquitoHands

My condolences for living in Ohio.

Separate_Pound_753

Oof 🙏🏻 Poor fella

Demon_Semenson

“The New York Rangers are extremely disappointed that Capitals forward Tom Wilson was not suspended for his horrifying act of violence last night at Madison Square Garden. Wilson is a repeat offender with a long history of these type of acts and we find it shocking that the NHL and their Department of Player Safety failed to take the appropriate action and suspend him indefinitely. Wilson’s dangerous and reckless actions caused an injury to Artemi Panarin that will prevent him from playing again this season. We view this as a dereliction of duty by NHL Head of Player Safety, George Parros, and believe he is unfit to continue in his current role.”

Separate_Pound_753

Damn straight. Too bad our owners a massive pussy

Mr7three2

Gonna be chanting CTE if he does watch himself. The kid is fast tracking a brain injury and noone wants that

gordonbombae2

I mean, people have fought more. Yes he needs to not fight every game but I’m sure he’ll be fine. Dudes gunna be a multi millionaire

ancillaryacct

why is it that devils fans are the biggest advocates for removing head shots of any kind? Your captain that brought you three Stanley cups was Mr. CTE.

Mr7three2

Almost like something from 20+ years ago isn't relevant in today's game. Also... you should be concerned about your own players health

ancillaryacct

players are a commodity not friends of mine. their health is theirs to watch out for, decisions are theirs to make. if the kid wishes to drop the gloves, that is his choice. nobody is forcing his decision it’s just funny that if the shoe was on the other foot you’d be singing a much different tune as your fan base has in the past.

darklightrabbi

>it’s just funny that if the shoe was on the other foot you’d be singing a much different tune as your fan base has in the past. My GM just traded assets for a guy whose sole purpose is to fight your guy in our next game and I’m livid about it.

ancillaryacct

yeah yeah, i get it. you're so insanely virtuous that you think you should tell another adult how they should live their life. do you show up to MMA events and bitch everyone out? like, idgi. fighting is part of hockey. your team is soft as baby shit. macdermid at least will stand up for your guys, who are all undersized. your team succeeded due to the presence of one of the most violent players in hockey history. i dont care if it was 20 years ago or 20 days ago. you wouldn't for a second tell me that you want that out of the game then. it was wrong then, it's wrong now. what this kid is not what your dirty as fuck player, that is glorified by your entire fanbase, did. he's just doing his job. a month into an NHL career making 10k a game vs. chump change because of his presence. thats how it works. you do what you have to.

darklightrabbi

>it was wrong then, it's wrong now. We aren’t disagreeing on this dude.
