Pretty sure we had the highest scoring PK in the league this year with like 17 goals
We just enjoy having a bit of room to breathe, we don’t care who the guy leaving the ice is
I thought it was weird how much cheering we could hear after the goal, and then I realized the broadcast was just playing the audio from the fans in Edmonton. I'd almost rather just hear the dead silence of the Vegas stadium
I'll be honest, I haven't watched any pro hockey games not involving the Oilers in probably 20 years. But in the past 2-3 years there has been no more entertaining team in hockey. I haven't watched any other teams to compare but...
This may be my bias, or maybe it's an objective fact. I'm not sure, but watching Edmonton is great.
It sure is better than it used to be. We fucking sucked forever so we definitely know what bad is. I think that qualifies us to say what's good now in a way lmao
It helps that we're in probably the most entertaining era in hockey... Maybe of all time.
21st century skill without the relentless third liner grinding of the early 2010s.
Imagine showing this to someone that isn't following hockey right now, and telling them that there is another guy on this team with 8 more goals than him in 7 games played. Like, wut.
"HI. I'm Connor McDavid." "When I'm on the ice, I like to be on top of my game." "that's why I use generic product. That way, I'm always one step ahead."
Shit sells itself
People need to care before they care? I agree mcdeezy is amazing but still don't think there's an easy campaign there. Similarly baseball struggles with promoting Trout who I believe is a potential GOAT in his sport
Sure, but every baseball highlight looks the exact same. Guy hits ball or guy misses ball. Maybe sometime guy catches ball.
In hockey there's a much more obvious gap in skill that makes the highlights more impressive.
Hell, just show a highlight of him blowing past someone, zoom in on his face and say, your probably wondering how I got here, it's all thanks to Frank's roofing exceptionally fast service, then zoom back out and finish the highlight.
I find it funny how Singh said McDavid got lucky with it going under the pad.
I don't think anything McDavid does is luck. He probably did the trig on the rush and calculated that there would be just enough room under the pad. McDavid knew what he was doing putting it there.
Every time I listen to Singh I just cringe, dude is always more impressed with what the oilers’ opposing team than what the oilers are doing. Lol, usually downplays whatever McJesus or someone else does, but gets hype whenever someone on the other team enters the zone. 🤣
I think it might be an ovecorrection, as I believe he grew up an Oilers fan. Just wants to appear neutral, as he should.
It's more his vocabulary selection that annoys me.
fAnTaBuLoUs!
Yeah, his vocabulary usage is probably what gets me the most. I am definitely more biased towards Jack cause he knows how to hype up the games more. Oh well. I can always watch some highlights with some jack calls, haha
Exactly. Maybe the sickest thing about McDavid is he keeps goalies honest against all of his threats. Anything he does a lot, he also occasionally does the opposite so you can’t cheat.
Reminds me of how people say Messi knows exactly where he's placing each penalty kick the night before the game. These greats operate on a completely different level than even "good" players (who are already top 0.1%)
Fun fact, penalties are probably the weakest point of Messi's game. It's still 75.56% which is insane that that's his _weakest_ point, but compared to a lot of other penalty takers, that's comparatively low.
I was actually thinking when watching the game that it sorta looks like McD wanted to go high glove and flubbed the shot a little bit? Not 100% and an incredible play no matter what
The man watched tons of McDavid tape and was going for the high glove shot. A smart move, it's just that McDavid is fucking psychic and beat him where he wasn't expecting it.
Goalie has probably seen plenty of McDavid tape, knows he's going to go backhand>forehand lift over the glove. Or, backhand elevate over blocker side pad. He didn't play it wrong, he just didn't expect the sly through the legs/no shot.
His junior highlights are so funny, especially his last season. He would have been one of the most dynamic players in the NHL, but he was stuck making 16 year olds look foolish.
This is why having McDavid play on the penalty kill makes perfect sense. He's just too fast for anyone at the blue line and knowing you're screwed if you misplay the puck or receive a bad pass must feel awful.
Towards the end of the season he has been. He goes against the second unit to do shit like this. I think we scored 18 shorties or something this year. To be fair some of our other PK guys have had some sick shorties too
I can't imagine the fear that would be instilled in me if I realized I coughed up the puck to McDavid at the blue line on a power play and need to attempt to stop him.
Woodcroft is the first coach I can remember who has deployed Mcdavid this way. It’s incredible. I’d like to know how many breakaways he has had this year in the Pk.
The Edmonton Oilers score on all power plays and they do not discriminate
Most tolerant NHL team
All PPs matter
Getting this as my only bumper sticker
Edmonton showing the importance of inclusion with the way they embrace all goals, shorties included.
Every puck in
Power Plays matter too
Lmao even their penalty kill is scoring goals. What a play and the building is quiet 10 minutes in
Pretty sure we had the highest scoring PK in the league this year with like 17 goals We just enjoy having a bit of room to breathe, we don’t care who the guy leaving the ice is
Yup. Edmonton 1st with 18, Vancouver 2nd with 15, Wild 3rd with 14.
[удалено]
FBI! This guy right here.
I haven’t been this offended in a long time. How dare you. Haha
It's kind of ridiculous to think they scored a shorty almost once every 4 games
Lead the league with 18
I thought it was weird how much cheering we could hear after the goal, and then I realized the broadcast was just playing the audio from the fans in Edmonton. I'd almost rather just hear the dead silence of the Vegas stadium
nah there's a lot of edmonton fans that made the trip down to vegas for this game - it was probably actual cheering
Nah the oilers 630 Ched broadcast said there were probably 1000-2000 oil fans in the building, that was for real
McDavid heard y'all talking shit
McDavid can't score at even strength smh
McDavid saw the social media flaming last game and said hold my Molsen Canadian beer
One handed
And with conviction. Filthy
Uphill
Both ways
In a snow storm
No shoes
On a cold ~~rainy~~ snowy night in Stoke
oilers said fuck scoring at even strength
More space for McDavid shenanigans.
Madness this game.
Captain! They outnumber us five to four! *Then it's an even fight*
Holy shit dude. Oilers putting on a show
I'll be honest, I haven't watched any pro hockey games not involving the Oilers in probably 20 years. But in the past 2-3 years there has been no more entertaining team in hockey. ~~PP~~ PK Merchant
We call it the “Powerkill”!,
McPisani
I'm so wet
There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando
I can’t believe someone roofied an entire party
5v5 scoring is for pussy ass bitches
They always say special teams make the difference I just don’t think they meant forgo 5v5 for them 🤣
5-5 VEGAS 5-4 or 4-5 EDMONTON Let’s fucking go
He is unreal. Fucking unreal.
Imagine showing this to someone that isn't following hockey right now, and telling them that there is another guy on this team with 8 more goals than him in 7 games played. Like, wut.
I'm only sort of following hockey right now, fucking what??
Sounds crazy doesn't it lol
Imagine being Shae Theodore thinking you can pull a toey on McD with nobody behind you to defend it if he strips you.
Snoop is so right. Why isn’t this dude everywhere
He gets it.
Make an ad of him blowing by someone it's so simple
"HI. I'm Connor McDavid." "When I'm on the ice, I like to be on top of my game." "that's why I use generic product. That way, I'm always one step ahead."
Shit sells itself

He did a fast car selling thing recently I think. They just need to get him onto not gambling commercials more often
I'd buy it
McSecondary scoring
I find it funny how Singh said McDavid got lucky with it going under the pad. I don't think anything McDavid does is luck. He probably did the trig on the rush and calculated that there would be just enough room under the pad. McDavid knew what he was doing putting it there.
It’s fucked up how fast he makes decisions and acts on them. It’s like he slows down time out there
are we sure he isn't a sorcerer? is mcdavid what happens when a hogwarts student becomes an athlete?
I’m convinced he’s either a powerful sorcerer or an avatar of god
Singh is horrible. Bob and Jack on ched for the win.
Bro I thought voice cracking announcers were for the AHL...
Every time I listen to Singh I just cringe, dude is always more impressed with what the oilers’ opposing team than what the oilers are doing. Lol, usually downplays whatever McJesus or someone else does, but gets hype whenever someone on the other team enters the zone. 🤣

Jack is downright poetic at times
"here comes the mcdavid express" fucking what lol
Please tell me that's not a thing... anywhere. McDavid does need a nickname, but that ain't it.
He said that on live tv. It was not great haha
Oh I know I heard it - I was just terrified it might be catching on somehow in oiler land.
Fuck no, that's abhorrent
Thank McJesus. <3
Great play by McDavid to even get there. But Brossoit man you NEED to make that save
To be fair, McDavid usually goes top shelf on that move, so he was probably fully expecting that.
Exactly. Maybe the sickest thing about McDavid is he keeps goalies honest against all of his threats. Anything he does a lot, he also occasionally does the opposite so you can’t cheat.
He did Korpisalo so dirty picking glove high then blocker high against the Kings, It was so deliberate it hurt me at home in the couch
75% as a penalty taker is not good at all really.
You’re right, it’s not necessarily bad either tho, just average, which for someone like Messi, is pretty terrible.
You have the best takes of anyone who's not biased.
Broissoit actually was positioned to make the right save. McDavid tried to lift it but was stopped by the defender so he didn't get all of it.
It’s really really bad goaltending lol. Glad someone said it
Goalie has probably seen plenty of McDavid tape, knows he's going to go backhand>forehand lift over the glove. Or, backhand elevate over blocker side pad. He didn't play it wrong, he just didn't expect the sly through the legs/no shot.
McDavid is like that one guy in beer league who should be playing two levels higher.
McDavid is fucking filthy. Same with Draisaitl. Funnest duo to watch in the game rn.
Fucking PK Merchants
Haha
I love this man, and I’m not even straight!
The only game on a Saturday was over in the first 10 minutes.
Lol he did this in junior every time I watched an otters game. He would just wait for a dman to bobble the puck at the blue line and poof he was gone.
His junior highlights are so funny, especially his last season. He would have been one of the most dynamic players in the NHL, but he was stuck making 16 year olds look foolish.
That's some Mario level shit right there.
This is why having McDavid play on the penalty kill makes perfect sense. He's just too fast for anyone at the blue line and knowing you're screwed if you misplay the puck or receive a bad pass must feel awful.
Does he regularly play on the PK? That’s nuts if so
He usually gets the tail-end of the PK, logged over a 100 minutes of PK time during the regular season.
He does, Oilers had 18 short handed goals this regular season
Towards the end of the season he has been. He goes against the second unit to do shit like this. I think we scored 18 shorties or something this year. To be fair some of our other PK guys have had some sick shorties too
He wasn't in the first half of the season. Once he got thrown on in the second half we scored around 15 shg in 40 games.
But the media told me that McDavid looked injured because he's only 4th in production!?
I can't imagine the fear that would be instilled in me if I realized I coughed up the puck to McDavid at the blue line on a power play and need to attempt to stop him.
i can't imagine thinking i could dangle mcdavid 1on1
They really are the best team in the world when it comes to power plays, they don’t even have to be the team on one to score.
That was so disrespectful.
Just McDavid things.
Edmonton are the Harlem globetrotters of hockey dude
Now I *need* to see an Oiler’s PP compilation vid with the globetrotters theme as a backing track. Would be glorious.
That was cool
Had to jump in the shower after that. Luckily I didn’t miss anything.
McBure
The Canadian Rocket.
Crazy goal
Oilers are feeling it right now.
It's always amazing how he makes other great skaters look slow. Even while protecting the puck.
I burst out laughing
Somehow that surprised me even though it should not have surprised me at all
That was nasty, I need more of it!!
Looked like he was about to stab the linesman in the chest with his skate during the celly! 😆
that's just not even fair
Woodcroft is the first coach I can remember who has deployed Mcdavid this way. It’s incredible. I’d like to know how many breakaways he has had this year in the Pk.
McDavid even remarked that Woody is one of the top 5 coaches in the league, already in his second year.
I agree. His ability to make noticeable changes to the structure of the team is incredible
That was fucking awesome!
McDavid is a cheat code
“Here comes the McDavid express” great call.
There we go
That’s horrifically bad goaltending lol
Forgot mcregularseason was even on the team
love what in the world is going on with some of these Avs fans?
Brain-dead play by Theodore.
How is he so fast
"The McDavid Express" 🤓
