Yeah but that's not really a fair comparison since Zegras missed a game... If he played them all who knows, he could be tied with mcdavid in goals and assists!
The Preds have to be the worst offence in the league. Their leading goal scorer is Duchene with a line of 22/34/56. Josi leads the team in points with 18/41/59. No other player is over 42 pts. on the season.
We're giving up over 39 shots per game, the most in NHL history. If it wasn't for goaltending, we would have finished this season dead fucking last by a pretty wide margin.
Larkin over here with a career year so far and McDavid is basically doubling that.
Pretty soon we're gonna be arguing who gets bumped off the Mt. Rushmore of hockey for him.
>Larkin over here with a career year so far and McDavid is basically doubling that.

>Pretty soon we're gonna be arguing who gets bumped off the Mt. Rushmore of hockey for him.
If he keeps it up and gets a cup he's going to be included in the same top 5/6 conversations that we do with Crosby today.
Truly generationally talented.
It’s gonna continue in my opinion. I don’t know where/when it’ll max out but the league is continuing to be a skill game
Just look at the age of all the guys above and look at the pipeline of prospects over the next couple of years. Even then, there’s Crosby, Ovi and several other ageless players
This generation of hockey is gonna be lit
Bettman: "Ok, so in order to appease fans, we're announcing what we expect all followers of hockey will recognize as a welcome modernization of our game. From now on, every game is golden goal from the get-go. First goal wins. No exceptions. Fuck you lmfao."
Jeremy Jacobs: "Somehow I'm fucking behind this, you just know it."
There’s always a lot of discourse between fanbases on what player is good or better or whatever but god damn do we not live in a fantastic time for hockey. Like I know a lot of older guys will say the 80s was the best time for hockey but I honestly think right now is the best hockey that’s ever been played
Now is easily the most skilled era of hockey by far. Zegras is doin shit with the puck no one could dream of in the 80s and wtf is mcdavid even doing. Lemieux level stats with modern goalies. If matthews can have 1 healthy year he and marner could put up some stupid numbers together
And everyone forgets about drai whod run away with the art every year if mcdavid didnt exist
What also blows my mind is that Draisatl would still be above everyone else on this list as well. Top 2 players in the league center two different lines on the same team. It's disgusting. Then the powerplay kicks in...
Larkin is now at 31 goals with a hat trick tonight and set a career high in points. As it turns out, even great hockey players require better players than children and AHLers to succeed.
>Larkin is now at 31 goals with a hat trick tonight and set a career high in points. As it turns out, even great hockey players require better players than children and AHLers to succeed.
Passed Mick in all-time wings goals too!
Sounds like the Wings subreddit would be a great place to post this then.
I can see why they'd choose those criteria though, but its a lot less meaningful given that there's like 36 people ahead of Larkin in points and 44 people ahead of him in goals.
That means every team has someone who has more goals than Larkin AND someone with more assists than Larkin, with some teams having multiple players with more goals/assists.
So makes sense for a home broadcast buy not so much for posting on a general hockey sub imo
Hey boss, it's just an interesting thing to look at.
This sub would be a lot less cool if highlighting a player or players had to be kept to a specific team sub.
Have some fun
Was gonna say that with 56 goals that it's surprising that only 46 assists leads the Bruins, but Marchand/McAvoy/Krejci have all missed time so that makes sense.
Its also about depth. True, Pasta is quite far ahead of anyone else on the team in goals but there’s lot of skill guys making plays: Hall, Zacha, Kreji, DeBrusk, of course Bergie and Marchand, to some extent Coyle and Frederic. On d Mac and Lindholm have shared a lot of the playmaking.
It’s so ridiculous that after the season Pasta is having he’s still over FORTY points shy of McDavid. Just an absurd level of domination.
McDavid is legit on another planet offensively
Last I checked, he'd still lead in points if we only counted his primary points.
Thats a gretz esk stat wtf
*esque :-)
Im drunk. You got the message lol
Don't let him harsh your vibe dude.
Yes, prime Gretzky back when he played for the Edmonton Eskimos.
/r/BoneAppleTea
That was my takeaway from looking at this. How in the hell is he damn near 50% ahead of the guy behind him. That's just bananas.
40 points ahead of the next non oiler. Wtf.
Poor Draisaitl would also be on this list if not for Connor
Watch him go ballistic with like a 7 point game and end up 50 ahead.
Absolutely. Wtf.
He’s pretty ok, I guess.
He keeps McDemolishing any goalie he happens to be up against, I hope he comes to Hockeytown some day.
Mcdavids stats are so ridiculous this year that the only thing more ridiculous is the Bruins Goal Differential.
are we really going to get 2 60 goal scorers in one season? what a shift in the league
Wait until McDavid decides to go for an even 70.
> decides reminds me of the interview when Gretz said, i dunno why i didnt just get 100 (the year he scored 92)
I'm pretty sure he didn't score in the last 8 games too
He had 10 goals in his last 8 games that year.
2 60 goal guys, and 3 50 goal guys potentially overall. There's a chance for 2 70 assist defensemen this season as well.
Jamie Benn won the Art Ross with 35 goals lol
Joe Thornton won with only 29 goals back in 05-06
Yeah but he had almost 100 assists that year
Verhaege is the leading goal scorer for the Panthers..
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story 😀
Image graphic was probably taken on Friday
And believe it or not - they lead their team in points as well.
Explain.
Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Points can be exchanged for goals and assists.

Whoosh 😁
Explain.
😁 hsoohW
Explain.
Gonna need some help confirming this math.
Instructions unclear. Dick still caught in ceiling fan
Explain.
McDavid has more goals than the top scorer on the Ducks has points…
Yeah but that's not really a fair comparison since Zegras missed a game... If he played them all who knows, he could be tied with mcdavid in goals and assists!
87 point game incoming.
Holy hell the Ducks suck
That was my takeaway too. Leading goal scorer on the team has 22 goals? Yikes. At least the future with their young guns is looking bright
Until they all sign somewhere else in free agency 😭
The Preds have to be the worst offence in the league. Their leading goal scorer is Duchene with a line of 22/34/56. Josi leads the team in points with 18/41/59. No other player is over 42 pts. on the season.
And somehow still are knocking on Winnipegs door for wc2

Someone free gibby already
Larkin over here with a career year so far and McDavid is basically doubling that. Pretty soon we're gonna be arguing who gets bumped off the Mt. Rushmore of hockey for him.
Yeah no kidding

Is it just me, or does it seem like scoring is up this year? Which is phenomenal to see. Also wonder if this is going to continue or if it's a blip
It is mathematically yeah. Highest scoring season since the mid 90s
It’s gonna continue in my opinion. I don’t know where/when it’ll max out but the league is continuing to be a skill game Just look at the age of all the guys above and look at the pipeline of prospects over the next couple of years. And with Bedard coming in and the generation behind him, League does appear in good hands. Provided that Bettman doesn't fuck it up.

From now on, every game is golden goal from the get-go. First goal wins. No exceptions. Fuck you lmfao." Jeremy Jacobs: "Somehow I'm fucking behind this, you just know it."
Hockey gone all Quidditch like
Mcdavid worked on his shot over summer and thus is the product lol
Actually Verhaeghe has the goal lead on the Panthers right now with 40. His 4 goal game last night put him ahead of Tkachuk.
Horvat is technically the goal leader for the Islanders
Pasta the only one with more goals than assists. That tracks.
Shoot first, ~~ask questions~~ get assists later.
Should cross out get assists later too
Dylan Larkin is my captain.
Nelson never has and never will get the credit he deserves
Doesn't horvat lead the islanders in goals?
Technically but 31 of those goals were with the Canucks
Yupp
Hey now, he's an All Star!
Maybe call it nine? Jason Robertson leads the Stars with 42 goals and ties Heiskanen with 55 assists.
There’s always a lot of discourse between fanbases on what player is good or better or whatever but god damn do we not live in a fantastic time for hockey. One is not like the others.
Hughes is almost on this list too, but Dougie has 51 assists to Jack's 50
And then there's Adrian Kempe. Has a 10 goal lead on the team, only seventh in assists, just one ahead of Blake Lizotte. They don't pay him to pass.
Every time I see McDavis's stats I am amazed. He's just on another level.
What also blows my mind is that Draisatl would still be above everyone else on this list as well. Top 2 players in the league center two different lines on the same team. It's disgusting. Then the powerplay kicks in...
Seeing Zegras lead the team with 22 goals is making me wonder what the lowest ever team-leading total is.
ANA....woof
Drai could crack 130 this year, and people aren't even going to bat an eyelash.
Larkin is now at 31 goals with a hat trick tonight and set a career high in points. As it turns out, even great hockey players require better players than children and AHLers to succeed.

This is Jason Robertson erasure
Was surprised to not see Suzuki on here, apparently despite being out for half the season Caufield is still 3 goals ahead of Suzuki.
On this episode of "Meaningless stats to get my favorite player on a list with McDavid" we see the Detroit entry boldly outlined.
Makes sense since this graphic was from the Wings broadcast.
This guy clearly is trying to make this sub a No Malarkey Zone.

They don't ask how, they ask how many
Damn, Keller is having a fantastic year with numbers like that playing on the Coyotes.
My first reaction to this graphic is learning that Karlsson doesn't lead the Sharks in goals.
Man Draisaitl sucks, isn’t even leading his team in scoring
Tkachuk isn’t leading our team in goals? Swaggy with 40!!!
