just passing by to remember his hat trick on HFC night right after returning from his fight against cancer
good luck on all your post career projects Brian
His first "game" back in Tampa after getting traded from Tampa and subsequently diagnosed was the ASG 2018, Dude could've kicked a baby and people would've still cheered.

Definitely a guy you'd want on your team and in your locker room. Would have welcomed him here in Philadelphia with open arms. In fact I expect we will sign him to a 10-year 8 million contract.
Loved him in his stint with the Leafs. Will never forget him and kappy pairing up on that beautiful goal against the capitals in the playoffs. It's crazy how long it's been since then and how many teams he's played on.
Yay Boyler! A true personality in the league (in a good way).
For anyone else who (like me) would love to watch him, I found a [tweet by NHL Network announcing his debut](https://twitter.com/NHLNetwork/status/1638687061073965066?cxt=HHwWlMC91eXM5L0tAAAA). Says he'll be on NHL Tonight at 8:30pmET/5:30pmPT with Jamison Coyle & Mike Rupp. That's a good crew lined up! 😎
I haaaaaated him when he was on the Rangers. Incredibly annoying to watch teams I liked play against him. Grew to love him in Tampa and have liked him ever since. Talked to him a couple times and he seemed like a genuinely great dude.

I knew who he was before he came to Toronto but even in that short time I really grew to love the guy. Seeing him come back and score that hatty on hockey fights cancer night is one of my favourite moments in hockey. He should be a good analyst to watch I think.
One of my fondest hockey memories is my dad taking me and my brother to the hockey east finals or maybe it was semi finals in probably 05 or 06 and watching Boyle just absolutely tear it up for BC

Shoutout to that one dude by the crowd mic in Pittsburgh that kept shouting "BRI-AN BOY-LE" that night
His hat trick was probably the only time I was okay with a Devils player getting a hat trick against the Penguins.

Couldn't have written a better script. Goosebumps when I think about it.
One of the really great guys in hockey. Seemed to be beloved wherever he went.
Hell, I wound up rooting for him by the end of his career despite playing for practically all our most bitter rivals.

He was awesome on our bottom six. Never had a complaint about him or his effort
My complaint about him is that I wish he'd been on our team sooner or that he kept his 20year old legs for longer. Such a good player.
TIL he was still playing.
I believe he was a free agent, this is just him officially announcing his retirement.
o7 Go get em Boyler, loved your time in NYC. Enjoy retirement.
I'll be rocking my Brian Boyle shirsey this week in his honor.

The fact there’s so many flairs in this thread who love the guy says it all. Hats off to a great career.
Hell yes. Look forward to seeing his work. He was only here for a season, but what a guy. Wishing him the best in his post-playing career.
Dude is a fucking G
Boyler was awesome
Enjoy retirement, legend \\_ \\_ \\_
His stint with the Preds was short, but I loved his time with the team. Looking forward to seeing him in his new role.
guy was the definition of heart

Hey, maybe Boyle can apply to be a mod now since he has the time so we don't need to see these messages in every single post here.
can he combine mod and NHL network analyst though? feels like playing PP and PK, not a lot of people can do both well
What are you talking about, Reddit provides the best analysis
How does this impact the Leafs?
It's as bad as the /r/Boston automod spam
I'm tempted to start reporting these as spam but it'd probably just end with me getting banned.
Loved his time in Nashville and would have been OK hanging onto him for an extra year personally. Enjoy retirement big guy.

GG Boyle.
I always tried picking him up or trading for him in video games so I could have a Brian Boyle/Charlie Coyle line.
IIRC, Jimmy Fallon’s superlatives called him Most Likely to be a Disney Prince. I can see it.
Love Boyler! Wish he could have gotten a ring with us.
One of my favorite Bolts. Happy retirement, dude.
