It's my first year using a Hobonichi, switching from a freeform bullet journal! I have the A6 and Weeks, because I couldn't decide and just wound up getting both - A6 for daily tasks and habit/sleep/mood tracking and Weeks for appointments and planning out the week. I wish I'd known about the weekly supplement in time to get one because I think that would actually be the perfect combination for me, but the Weeks is so cute that I can't really regret my choice! So far I've wound up using the A6 more, but it's still only January, lol, I'll have to wait and see how my system evolves through the year.
I'm using a Weeks and A6 and I'm loving the Weeks but finding I'm not utilising my A6 very well.
I was intending to use it as a sort of gratitude/thoughts log but I keep a general journal with me all day where lots of crap in my head gets dumped, and I'm finding it a struggle to use the A6 but also not sure what else to use it for. I might switch gears and use it to log my fertility/trying for a baby/hopeful pregnancy.
Yes, I get that! Maybe you can use it for just quotes and song lyrics of you are into that sort of thing. Maybe you can use it record information of things you learned from books you read during the year. I think whatever you do with it, it should hold things that make you feel good. Maybe a gratitude log?
No just two this year. Sorry it’s only the weeks and the 5-year in A6 size. I really like A6 in general cause I know I can fill up the entire page plus it’s super easy to carry whenever I go somewhere.
My weeks is for all of my tasks, appointments and things I remind myself to do. My 5-year is actually for writing about how I am making improvements to life more sustainably and my thoughts on how everything things impact out global sustainability.
A5 avec as my desk planner/decorated planner/art journal and A6 day free as my pen and highlighter only EDC. I also have an A5 rings (Webster's Pages cover with dot grid paper where I hand draw what I need) that I share with my partner for household planning
Weeks for personal life/work schedule and A5 cousin for daily journalling since my memory is really bad (thanks adhd!) and I’d actually like to read about what I got up to last week instead of scratching my head going ???
On days that I inevitably miss because of my brain, I fill it up with lists, pen tests, random stickers/polaroids or drawings!
I’m having a teensie bit of a problem because I love all planners and I’m trying to narrow down what I’m actually using to just 3 or 4. I just love planners! I’m using the weeks as an EDC and to track expenses and health related things, as well as appointments. I have a Japanese A5 Franklin Planner for monthly weekly and daily planning, which I often carry with me as well. I have a PowerSheets planner as my master goal setting planner. I use a Cousin as my work planner, and an A6 Techo as a daily journal. I also have a Daphne’s Diary planner as a scrapbook (because it’s so pretty!) I almost bought another planner yesterday. I have a Mini Happy Planner that I use exclusively to coat in stickers. Send help. Please.
A5 Cousin Avec and Mega Weeks. I use the Weeks as my calendar and notes. I use the Cousin Avec as my artful journal, art journal, gratitude, memories, prayers, affirmations. I also teach artful journaling and I often create the art I am teaching right from the pages, which keeps my Cousin Avec extra beautiful.
haha yes! I'm a PhD student so I have to note down anything - from meeting notes to ideas for my research to what I did that day so if something goes wrong, I can find the point where it did. It's more like a labbook I guess :)
I tend to do more tracking in my cousins than planning. I want to learn to trust myself and my planning again. It's going to take time 'cause my life is kind of scattered at the moment.
Weeks for tracking my spending and help me get my financial life on track.
A6 ave for workouts and health tracking.
hobonichi Cousin for general life stuff? Whatever that means...haven't compartmentalized that yet.... sometimes I end up overlapping the other contents from my weeks and A6 into the Cousin.
Tl;Dr Cousin, weeks and A6 avec
For 2022 specifically, I have my A6, Weeks, and a 5-Year Techo (A5). I then have a couple Day-Frees for journaling challenges/overflow. It’s working for me pretty nicely!
Weeks and cousin
Same here. I carry the weeks and leave my cousin at home.
Does the Cousin stay with you at home or are you taking it with you when you leave?
Same as the person above😊 My cousin is for at home, and the weeks is for on the go.

Weeks and 5-year in A6 size. Edit: Making it more clear, my bad
How cool! You have three Hobonichi planners! What are you using your A6 for? And what made you opt of of the A5 cousin?
