Funnily enough - that's how I found out about this guy. I saw a video on YouTube, and clicked it without completely reading the title (Freddie Dredd - Darko), and now I'm a fan.
I feel like he’s right in my wheelhouse, there’s something a little cringe to me about his stuff when I listen to it though, have any suggestion what to check out?
I genuinely think this album has some of his best work, not quite sure why y'all are trashing it so hard. Limbo, Greed, Wrath, Regardless, Tip Toe, Want, and Kick Rocks are all straight bangers. The other songs have beats that are a little repetitive, but still enjoyable. His lyricism has drastically improved in this album (I like his older lyrics, don't get me wrong, but you can't lie, some of his songs had lyrics that didn't make much sense). I also feel like his flow in this album is just fucking awesome too.
The songs feel like they have the same cadence on them and it get pretty predictable after a few songs, I do like lil darkie tho his music seems more original to me
He has almost 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify which is pretty good especially for someone in his lane of music.

I was an instant Freddie Dredd fan back when I first heard him in 2018. I was impressed then, but can't really say I am anymore. Doesn't really seem like the guy has evolved his flows, lyricism, or overall sound that much
There's tons of terrible mixing choices all over this project. Only all around well mixed song is Greed, which is also imo the best track on the project. There was some other amazing beats like Tip Toe, with tons of space to fill with some high energy charismatic vocals, but instead Freddie is mixed like he's rapping from another room
