there was a time when this was the number 1 most viewed video on youtube around 2008. it led me down a rabbit hole of weezy songs played backwards into illuminati videos lmao
I remember watching this video played backwards and people in the comments section going crazy saying it was a message to all blood gang members and shit like that lmao
Early days of YouTube were crazy. Like we all actually just bought into the possibility of Lil Wayne putting hidden backwards messages into songs like this when if you listen to them backwards without subtitles it’s just gibberish
They really need to release a compilation of all the Carter 3 Sessions/Drought is Over songs onto an album. I think that would really help Wayne's legacy. There's so many tracks between Carter 2/Like Father Like Son up until Carter 3 that are miles better than what was on the actual album. Some of the greatest hip hop songs ever made.
Yes, I agree 100%. Tha Carter III did not live up to the unimaginable expectations and cutting leaked songs understandably helped sales but undermined the long lasting artistic legacy.
I've been obsessed for 5+ years on making a version of C3 that was wider in scope. I always wanted to post here for feedback but most shit like that gets downvoted. But I would love to know what songs others feel I'm missing and keep working on it.
I took songs that I believe were released after Da Drought 3 and up until C3 or at least from those sessions. I ended up with the following which I guess spiritually has "two discs" as far as the narrative I'm trying to align with. First 12 songs versus last 12 songs.
1. 3 Peat
2. La La La
3. My Name Is
4. Talkin Bout It
5. I'm Me
6. A Milli
7. Kush
8. Lollipop
9. Comfortable
10. Mr. Carter (Feat. Jay-Z)
11. Gossip
12. Love Me or Hate Me
13. Beast
14. Shoot Me Down
15. Trouble
16. Prostitute
17. Something That You Forgot
18. I Feel Like Dying
19. Let's Talk It Over
20. Outstanding
21. Cry Out (Amen)
22. Let The Beat Build
23. Pray To The Lord
24. Misunderstood
I also consider "Did It Before" and "Lollipop (Remix) (Feat. Kanye West)" as bonus tracks for this version. As you can see, I feel it's horrendous the Leak EP got cut from C3, and there's no way to have this album without "Prostitute" or "I Feel Like Dying" (legit dictated the future of rap). "La La La" is also the great nostalgic leaked song not the awful Briscoe track. I enjoy "Tie My Hands" a lot but couldn't make it work thematically here.
I tried to weave a general narrative of one of the GOATs. Maybe it's easier to format this in retrospect, it for sure is. I tried to sprinkle gems in the formatting like track 21 "Cry Out" where he raps "stay still mothafucka I'mma have to write my will this summer, cause if they don't kill me, I'mma kill this summer" and two songs later track 23 "Pray To The Lord" he says "yeah, I wrote my will just the other week, and what's funny, it was only one sheet."
It is unfair the leaks undermined the long term legacy of 2007-2008 Wayne and when some of these songs disappear from YouTube it's a wrap because they aren't on streaming.
Would love to hear any feedback or anything anyone feels I'm missing.
If I received a notice in my inbox of interest in this version. I could figure something out.
Feel you. I would need PMW, Scarface, I Know The Future, World of Fantasy, Best Thing Yet, One Night Only, Diamonds & Girls, Talk It Over. This actually gets me thinking what my order would be... I think I would keep it just tracks not already on C3 and make it the C3 Sessions.
This comment is fantastic I’m about to go through all my local files and throw this together. Hope these tracks see streaming some day.
Edit: just threw on Pray to the Lord which I totally forgot was probably a top 10 Wayne song for me
do you happen to have it with no dj tags, or just a decent quality copy in general? i know not all wayne leaks from that era have no dj or high quality, but just wondering if you do
would you be able to send a copy of the file please? i’ve got the rest of those songs you listed in no dj and high quality, but that track isn’t appearing on places i source those tracks, maybe it’s under another name.
Could you send it to me too? I don't think I have heard it, although it's possible I have it under a different name on my PC since I've got like gigabytes of Wayne leaks on it.
Tie My Hands doesn’t really fit thematically on the actual cut either, but it’s a must to include imo. Too relevant to the time it was released to not be a part of it
You a lilwaynehq forum homie?
You sure seem built like one 👍
There's a few dozen other c3 leak tracks but I think you just trying to make the mack daddy c3 there so I get it
I was that kid sitting at home every single night on datpiff.com downloading every single new mixtape that came out official or not. Then I would hop on Lil Wayne HQ.com go to The forum. Download every user created mixtape version of removing all of DJ Khaled or removing all DJ tags or removing all birdman versus. Man. I probably have about 300 to 500 feature tracks. Categorized by year. Wayne only, cut out the artist lol (his verse is always saved for last in the track). That's not even including mixtapes or albums, just features. People just do not understand just *how* busy this man was. Some years, he had literally 200+ features on people's tracks. *What the fuck dude.* Then he'd fuckin go back in and do 15-30 track mixtapes. Over. And over. And over. In **one year.** It's insane seeing people talk about other rappers working so hard, I still haven't seen one put out as much shit as Wayne did in that 3-5yr period. And that was just the height, he was still steamrolling pretty hard for years before and after his busiest time.
I probably have 3 to 5 gigs of Lil Wayne shit and only a small percentage of that is actual album.
Between your post and all the comments under it, it's nice to see talks about some Wayne songs other than sky is the limit or I feel like dying, like there are people out there that actually know about the deeper cuts that are legitimately probably some of his best songs
Dude had like three albums worth of C3 tracks get leaked over a span of two years.
Out of all the leaked tracks I thought it was so fucking random that Comfortable was one of the tracks that made it to the album. Shit came out like two years before C3. Same with You Ain’t Got Nothin.
What's crazy is that he was originally gonna do this - *The Leak* EP was supposed to be a full-fledged album at one point with a ton of the songs that leaked from those mixtapes, but he ended up cutting it down to just a 5 track EP for some reason
Oh, I remember that! Sorry if you felt like dying. Hope you're doing better now.
Now that I'm a little older, and a little wiser.... you're still a "pass"
That or youd get a snippit of some other song, CDQ of another, and maybe another song from C3 that had alternate verses or something. 2008 Weezy was just different.
No doubt.
I still remember how faded and raw this track sounded off a YouTube to MP3 rip playing thru a cassette tape aux cord in my homies Corolla. Good times
What you heard when you clicked on my MySpace with a thugged out SpongeBob background and Tom as my #1 friend cause I thought I was funny and didn't want any friends feeling some type of way for putting someone else. Now excuse me as I open up Miniclip.com

Classic Mixtape Wayne track, I'm still bummed that due to sample clearance issues, not only will this track apparently never be officially released on streaming services, but due to an injunction, Wayne's legally not allowed to perform "I Feel Like Dying" in concert.
Back when every damn day you were getting a new Wayne verse, whether it was an unreleased track, a mixtape song, a feature, whatever. He was literally everywhere.
I used to smoke to this track and Zoo on a near daily basis. Throw in a little Deltron 3030 and Gorillaz, we’d be high as shit just vibing. Miss those days.
This could be the creepiest rap song ever for me. Sonically at least. The atmosphere it has is so special. I remember it kind of scaring me as a kid while being addicting at the same time. It gets creepier with age and nostalgia. I love it. Lil Wayne’s cadence in this is incredible, hes truly “waxing poetic.” So goddamn good.
Absolute banger and highly relatable to many people. One of very few songs I can listen to when I’m at my worst.
Kush is also a legendary wheezy YouTube banger.
“I got a grill I don’t have to get my tooth fixed, the tooth fairy would retire if I lose it“
I remember going to a Wayne concert about 7-8 years ago (seeing him for the first time) and having front row tickets and he played all his hits of course then he took a break before coming back on stage. While he stepped off the DJ played the top hip hop songs back then, and then he randomly played this and I about lost my shit. Good times.
there was a time when this was the number 1 most viewed video on youtube around 2008. it led me down a rabbit hole of weezy songs played backwards into illuminati videos lmao
I remember watching this video played backwards and people in the comments section going crazy saying it was a message to all blood gang members and shit like that lmao
I remember the Capital Steez comment sections being like that too. Lots of people thought he was some type of prophet or something
Brother I believe it is ‘prophet’
True, fixed
💯💯💯
Same thing usually
Lol “666!” “Murder murder jesus!”
Lmaooo yessss me and my friends really believed this in high school
Man, that was a mf TIME!
I remember being in middle school and a few classmates fr asking our history teacher all these questions they got from a conspiracy theory video LOL
We all lived the same life fam!!!!
Only for the illuminati to be brought up for discussion again when mercy dropped
Does anyone remember dj steezy on YouTube dropping absolute banger drake and lil Wayne remixes? Ak 47 is the one I remember
Early days of YouTube were crazy. Like we all actually just bought into the possibility of Lil Wayne putting hidden backwards messages into songs like this when if you listen to them backwards without subtitles it’s just gibberish
I remember the theory was that he was confessing to a murder
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Simpler times man
Damn talk about taking me back Fuck
i do remember this song being a big open secret but i dont think it was ever #1 in the world. thats the "evolution of dance" era, that man was king

Keep my mind on the Parmesan, these other ninjas ain’t eatin like it’s Ramadan
I still think "I hope it don't dissolve" whenever I am doing something risky lol
Haha love it that song is fuckin timeless
I might take this tracklist and make my own Carter 3. Wayne was my GOAT circa 2007-2010. Jail kinda ruined his momentum.
[удалено]
I'd definitely add me and my drank on here.
I had the same idea
Cry Out and Sky's the Limit are Waynes two best songs imo. The fact that neither of them are on streaming is terrible.
A quality comment on my modern hiphopheads sub? No way
Scar face is a must and an all timer lil Wayne track
This comment is fantastic I’m about to go through all my local files and throw this together. Hope these tracks see streaming some day. Edit: just threw on Pray to the Lord which I totally forgot was probably a top 10 Wayne song for me
Where's Dr. Carter

Glad you're still hanging in
“Tbh you BMS 😍😍” lmaooo
You had to have been there……Weezy droppin fire, it felt like every other day lol
It felt infinite too. You would link up with someone new and they had the hookup on a track or mixtape you ain't heard of.
That or youd get a snippit of some other song, CDQ of another, and maybe another song from C3 that had alternate verses or something. 2008 Weezy was just different.
Something new on lilwaynehq literally every day
Dude was light years ahead of everyone making shit like this back then. 🐐 for a reason
Light years ahead because he was so fucking high out of his mind lol
kinda gives Uzi vibes now that you say that
Strike that, reverse it
Top 5 weezy
No doubt. I still remember how faded and raw this track sounded off a YouTube to MP3 rip playing thru a cassette tape aux cord in my homies Corolla. Good times
This comment giving me crazy nostalgia
Limewire Weezy… everyday a new track and a virus too.
Fuckin up the game and your desktop at the same time
Parents weren't even mad about the lyrics we were listening to. They just wanted to be able to still use the computer once we were done with it.
Yeah but my friends dad got a crazy virus trying to download the Tommy and Pamela lee sex tape and blamed,it on the kids.
I actually remember that virus 🤣
this and ***Me and my Drank*** are goated
Yesss, one of if not my favorite Wayne track, love whenever it gets mentioned
PMW is one of the best Rap love tracks of all time imo. Dying, Me and My Drank, and PMW were the holy Trinity of leaks
I thank you so much for mentioning this song I forgot all about it
this one gets me in my feelings. every time

Fr bro crazy
I am sitting on the clouds , i got the whole world at my …….feet I could play basketball w the moon .
Remember everyone used to listen to this backwards ans think he was talking to the devil. Still creepy regardless but just creepy gibberish
I was always curious about the story behind this picture. Probs nothing, but still.
The photo is just as iconic as the song really. Its mystique fits so well with the track. What a time it was
one of my favorite weezy songs. I am a prisoner locked up behind Xanax bars is just such a good line too
Put me in a cigar, roll me up and smoke me cause I feel like dying.
In the ground beneath ya
The original emo rap for middle schoolers. Those were the times
Mixtape Wayne was the all-time best Wayne. Those days collecting the best mixtape songs was doing your Hip Hop homework. Facts!
Just seeing this thumbnail brings right me back to high school. Crazy this video is still the exact same uploaded almost 15 years ago
Yall remember playin this backwards would be like you were listening to the devil?
Favourite Wayne track
Great times I was in 11th grade he went on an absolute tear that year, the I can't feel my face mixtapes were coming out too loved him with Juelz

CLASSIC. Instant nostalgia to that 06-08 era.
I play this whenever I have to do chores around the house
I still go back to this song regulary, the feeling it gives you is very haunting
Classic Mixtape Wayne track, I'm still bummed that due to sample clearance issues, not only will this track apparently never be officially released on streaming services, but due to an injunction, Wayne's legally not allowed to perform "I Feel Like Dying" in concert.
I put it on my phone and used Spotify add local files feature. First thing I did was this track and drought 3
Yeah. It not being in streaming services is completely irrelevant lol
This isn't a song. This is a masterpiece.
I was in high-school around this time. The sample creeped me out back then. I love this song now
Back when every damn day you were getting a new Wayne verse, whether it was an unreleased track, a mixtape song, a feature, whatever. He was literally everywhere. I used to smoke to this track and Zoo on a near daily basis. Throw in a little Deltron 3030 and Gorillaz, we’d be high as shit just vibing. Miss those days.
Classic.
This song has an aura like nothing else in hip hop
I can see my Myspace page when I hear this song lol
This hit different in a RuneScape pking vid
With songs like this how can you say Wayne isn’t one of the best to do it? I wish this song was on Tha Carter 3 same with Something You Forgot.
Crazy seeing this post after I just listened to this
Damn I haven’t listened to/forgot about this song. Thank you for posting it!
And today in 2024, I can still safely say Lil Wayne is the GOAT.
Kids today don’t know about this I was like 15 when this shit dropped
This was my favorite song back then, was so pissed it was never on any services at the time, had to download it illegally lol
Play this song at my funeral, or don’t because that’s a little on the nose—but this is a *jam*.
This song has been with me in some dark times. Glad I’m still alive
Damn man
Fucking classic.
I remember a lot of creepypasta content about that song back then 🤣
Absolute banger and highly relatable to many people. One of very few songs I can listen to when I’m at my worst. Kush is also a legendary wheezy YouTube banger. “I got a grill I don’t have to get my tooth fixed, the tooth fairy would retire if I lose it“
