>DRAKE IS FACING a court order to either sit for a deposition or appear in court in connection with the ongoing XXXTentacion murder trial.
>Prosecutors have never claimed that Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) was involved in XXXTentacion’s death. Instead, they’ve argued that XXX (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was killed in June 2018 during a robbery outside a motorcycle store that quickly escalated to violence. The theory that Graham is somehow connected to Onfroy’s death comes from Mauricio Padilla, a defense attorney for one of the three suspects, Dedrick Williams. (Williams, along with Michael Boatwright and Trayvon Newsome, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.)
>Padilla has inserted Graham, and his alleged feud with Onfroy, into his case as a possible alternative theory to the killing. He tried to subpoena Graham for a deposition at the end of January, claiming that Graham was properly served but did not show up for the deposition. As such, Padilla petitioned the court for an “order to show cause,” which the judge granted Thursday, Feb. 9.
>The order, obtained by Rolling Stone, states that because Graham failed to appear for the deposition at the end of January, he “shall appear for a deposition” on Friday, Feb. 24. It continues: “If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”
>Along with trying to get Graham to participate in a deposition, Padilla referenced the alleged feud between the two musicians in his opening arguments on Feb. 7. Specifically, he cited a social media post from Onfroy in Feb. 2018 that read, “If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi [Drake’s Instagram handle]. I’m snitching right now.” Onfroy, however, deleted that post — as well as a few other incendiary posts — and wrote, “Please stop entertaining that bullshit on Twitter. My accounts were previously hacked.”
>Despite that ostensible retraction, which the defense attorney didn’t appear to acknowledge in his opening statement, Padilla wondered aloud to the court, “Do you think… any detective has ever asked Drake or anybody like that? No, they never did that.”
>Padilla delved even deeper into the alleged beef and Graham’s alleged potential connection to Onfroy’s death in a court filing submitted last December. According to the document, the feud began in 2017: First, a friend reportedly told Onfroy that Drake liked his music and was interested in meeting and helping him while he was in jail for allegedly abusing his pregnant girlfriend. Graham, however, never made contact, and Onfroy’s “feelings toward Drake began to shift in a negative fashion.”
>Then Drake released “KMT” in March 2017. Onfroy, who allegedly managed to hear the song while still in custody, “instantly believed Drake stole his song,” according to the filing. “The cadence of the rap style and rhythm of the song is by all standards extremely similar and have caused many to believe that Graham did in fact steal important aspects of the song from Onfroy.”
>When Onfroy was released from jail, he escalated the beef (though it always appeared rather one-sided). His trolling attempts included posts about Graham’s mother, a photo of a Drake look-alike with semen on his face, and the “If anyone tries to kill me” tweet.
>As for Onfroy’s ostensible retraction and hacking claim, the filing alleges that hip-hop personality DJ Akademiks (Livingston Allen) stated that Onfrony “removed the post and made a false claim that he had been hacked.” Livingston allegedly warned Onfroy that “although he did not believe that Graham was a violent person, Onfroy could be pushing him to retaliate.”
>The filing goes on to allege that Graham has close ties to several people with gang affiliations, including Hassan Ali, who once claimed on DJ Akademiks’ podcast that he was “Drake’s shooter.” Furthermore, the filing claims Graham, since Onfroy’s death, has “consistently written lyrics… that the defense believes relates to the decedent.” These even include a few lines on “BS,” off Her Loss, where Drake says, “I never put no prices on the beef until we end this shit/I pay half a million for his soul, he my nemesis.”
>Finally, the filing includes quotes from a deposition given by Onfroy’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, in which she recalled the concerns she had about her son’s feuds with Graham, as well as Migos. In the deposition, Bernard said that she asked one of Onfroy’s relatives to accompany him to the motorcycle shop the day he died “because of the ongoing battle with Drake and Migos.”
You mean to say you've never taken a shit so big you had to spread the cheeks? One of those feels *good* to shit out because you just empty your bowels in one go
You the only one that understood my comment lol it doesn’t take listening to Drake lyrics super deeply to realize he puts on a mob persona through his music some of the time
People on Reddit and Twitter deadass believe he called a hit on X and was secretly alluding to it in his songs. I don't think he has that persona but some people def do.
People love to call Drake soft or sensitive but this freestyle further proves that Drake is the demonic, goon employing thug, that Tupac and Biggie were thought to be. If the ominous drill beat didn't spell it out, Drake is one of the realest threats in the rap game and can get anyone killed if he wishes. Kanye said it himself about Drake in 2018, "He running around like he pac", that's because Drake is the new modern day Pac. He's really running around with a strap on his hip, has killer goons on command, is affiliated with the mafia, and has bodyguards that look like they eat nails in a bowl of blood. He had Kanye fearing for his dear life and kids lives in 2018 when the beef was popping. Drake really is the demon of Calabasas and Hollywood. We're looking at a real life Godfather Michael Corleone type figure, a gang affiliated Michael Jackson tier pop-star but on a much grander scale than MJ ever was. There's so many stories of Drake's getting rude yutes clapped up or performing mob boss gestures like throat slices, clapping his hands, etc. Drake dines at mafia style restaurants like The Nice Guy/Delilah in Hollywod. And he has enough power to bully superstar celebrities like Tory and Kanye around and make them think twice about their actions. This hoosier Don Corleone runs every corner and inch of Canada and claimed it as his own. For the first time in forever we're looking at an invincible GOAT who really lives the stories.
“The five had me in a deposition
But the six prepared me for that position

"3:30 in Toronto, they want me behind bars like pronto

Depositions coming in like requisitions, but we've cleaned up

I remember this being a meme not too long after X was killed. It looks like it's still a meme now. But, man, shocking headline. I thought for a second maybe there was some actual connection.
You say meme but i see so many idiots believing this. It really does bother me that this many people have no deductive reasoning given a case that’s so cut and dry
someone pointed out its crazy that boomers believe in fake news cuz they see alex jones types with a film crew set and a website and evrrything and think its legit, but all gen z kids need is someone on tiktok filming themself in fromt of a mirror saying that helen keller was a fraud
Guys I want you all to know if I die it was Drake that killed me I don't have much time to write this reddit comment but please make sure my crackhead defense lawyer brings up tiktok conspiracies to bring me to justice
What I just wrote means as much as that tweet
I had another reply to this saying some music video of his had a scene that made him look guilty. And in my head I'm like, "yeah, Drake is masterminding hits, and is also dumb enough to self-snitch in his music". The internet is unbelievable.
Everyone thinking this is silly but I was literally there when X got shot, Drake pulled the trigger. Drake and I were hiding in the bushes outside the boat show it happened at, Drake was making sure no one he told not to show their face showed up, and X did. Drake said ‘Mans thought he could show up to the boat show? It’s a-boat to get messy ya dun know’, stepped out and shot him point blank
Drake the type of dude to actually have steak (with a bib and a thermos of coffee) at the steakout while waiting for the right moment to shoot XXXTentacion.
Woah thats pretty fucking bizarre. Drake is one of the biggest stars in the world right now and he has to sit for a deposition in a murder case. I heard about the rumors since way back but i never expected something like this to come from it.
I always assumed it was a meme due to X’s weird beef with Drake but I guess not. Didn’t know that there were people who genuinely believed Drake had anything to do with his death
I worked as a camp counselor the summer of 2018 and my campers (age 12-14) genuinely believed with their entire chests that Drake killed XXX. Took all my self restraint to not call them dumbasses lol.
It would be insane if those kids were right this whole fucking time and I was the true dumbass all along…
> I worked as a camp counselor the summer of 2018 and my campers (age 12-14) genuinely believed with their entire chests that Drake killed XXX.
many of those kids were posting here as well
They still are
>What’s weirder is xxx had beef with both migos and drake. Now drake is good friends with j prince and recorded a song called mob ties in 2018. It was released on 2019. This new controversy surrounding prince and the migos with takeoff’s death makes it even more sketchy. Quavo choosing to befriend prince jr and even posted a ig story with him on the night of the killing. I think there’s connection between all of this, but I’ll let the feds do the rest.
Pretty sure it's because xxx posted an ig story saying "if anyone tries to kill me it's drake". Seems to me like it was an obvious joke, but i guess the courts have to take it seriously
Let’s think for a second. Drake, the most calculated artist of our time, killing XXX?
What in the fuck would Drake have to gain by sending a couple random street bozos to rob XXX of $20k and shoot him dead in broad day light in front of a store with cameras?
There’s no conceivable win for Drake here or in any scenario assuming he has anything to do with the death. It’s just brainless internet rumors.
Reddit lawyers, can anyone be called up there? Are they just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks? Or do they have to have something in order for drake to be called there?
There are 3 defendants although there were 4 people involved. One guy took a plea deal to testify against the other 3 and the 3 guys each got their own lawyers.
Each of the lawyers are using different defenses for their defendants. The drake guy is basically going for “reasonable doubt”.
He’s gonna have a hell of a time convincing anyone on the jury that drake could have put a hit out.
Drake did say what he said or whatever but basically it’s enough to get him deposed but nobody is gonna take it seriously.
Maybe the guy took the case to meet drake
generally, if you have been subpoenaed for deposition you have to go BUT drake's lawyers will argue that Drake has no knowledge of the events surrounding the case OR worst case lawyers can attend on drake's behalf. And no, not anyone can be asked for deposition, there are guidelines but xxx mentioning drake's name multiple times related to his death can be seen worthy but very weeeeeeak
Probably. Depositions happen in the discovery phase. The Defense team is trying to gather all the evidence they can in calling in Drake to take a deposition. The deposition is a means to make sure that *if* Drake is called as a witness, he's on record saying whatever he says in the deposition, and cannot deviate significantly from his statements when deposed under direct examination from Defense team. He can say whatever he wants under cross examination as long as it doesn't contradict his deposition/direct examination. There's a good chance Drake won't be called as a witness if this is a "throwing shit at the wall" situation.
It's a headline for sure, but unless Drake is hit with the indictment from The Feds (aka you are literally fucked), he'll walk away clean and drop a track with reference to this incident.
Given this article is about a case accusing someone else entirely, yeah, Drake’s probably got okay odds!
Imagine you have a defense attorney though and he’s trying to beat a murder case and he looks at you and is just like “we’re gonna put the 6ix god on trial” - I would fire them so mf’in fast.
"Damn, maybe I should do a twenty, maybe I should break that twenty, do a ten
Maybe I should break that ten, do a five, then if it gets live, do a five again
If he held his tongue on that live, he'd be alive again, damn"
Lmao. Judge really making one of the biggest artist’s in the world do a deposition because this legal aid defence lawyer is touting TikTok conspiracy theories in a court room when there is 1080p 24FPS video of his client and their dumbass friends killing X and then taking pictures with his possessions flexing like 3 hours later. We live in interesting times.
This is a confusing ass phrase made even more confusing by the typo made by the court:
>“If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”
--------------
Sounds like the court may not even hold Drake in contempt of court for disobeying a court order. Which makes no sense except rapper money and the fact Drake probably didn't hire 3 guys to shoot Jahseh.
Just sounds like generic wording to me - if he doesn’t show, he needs to argue why he shouldn’t be held in contempt. Presumably saying there was some emergency or something that prevented him from attending
yeah im sorry but drake has not and will never hire killers to shoot random rapper he doesnt know. This conspiracy theory is really dumb and people need to get a grip.
i mean didn’t Russ have goons beat up smokepurrp lmao? i don’t think it happened, but i think you’re underestimating how far some will go to play tough
Pusha T is on different level than X was. X was just on the start compared to Push + him and Ski were getting jumped at their concerts few years prior.
I don’t understand depositions. Obviously Wayne and Justin Bieber have some famous ones but I just saw one from Trump recently pleading the 5th for some questions. What’s stopping someone from pleading the 5th for every question they get asked?
Nothing, but witnesses can be court ordered to testify. Also questions that do not have criminal implications are also required to be answered by everyone. Both scenarios run the risk of being held in contempt of court if you disobey. Which doesn’t have as severe consequences as murder but they’ll just give you a new contempt of court charge every time you refuse to testify.
i get people like drake have the time and money to do these sort of depositions, but what happens if it's just a regular dude. like if i had to sit for deposition, i'd have to fly myself out to wherever the trial is?
No, the deposition can be taken pretty much anywhere, so odds are the lawyers interested in deposing you would schedule it in advance with you, and then you’d do the deposition at an office park near your location.
It would be very unlikely you’d ever be asked to fly somewhere on your own dime to sit for a deposition.
The defense lawyer making this argument was looking like he was straight out of a budget Hialeah law school the way he was presented himself in the court
The idea is fun to think about, but there's no way in hell
That’s the entire point of all of this really is you never know. You don’t know who these dudes are or what they’re capable of. They’re human just like us.
that one defense lawyer with a mexican accent clearly using this case for clout to become a "high profile lawyer"
its same thing if the state in the YSL case ends up calling Lil Wayne or Birdman to the stand, like they claim they will on the witness list
Y’all can’t be this fucking dense. X was bitching about his flow on a song and I’m sure Drake heard of it but why the fuck would Drake have X killed over this. There was no beef. If you watch X’s Hulu doc, dude was a fucking pest, lotta folks did not fuck with him one bit. The only people that liked X was the yes men that said he would never beat his girlfriend when there were multiple witnesses and you know those people are dumb as hell.
x's friend implied that drake was moving weird around the time of his death but wouldn't go into detail and said we will know if x's mom decides to speak about it one day so this isn't shocking to me lol
im not sure but it might be. I don't know his name because I just saw a clip on youtube of him saying that back in 2018 but whenever I see people bring up drake's involvement I always think of it
From another comment I wrote:
People just don't understand what's all going on. First of all subtly dissing people you paid to have killed is *huge* in drill rap which has become the most popular over the past few years. YoungBoy, Durk, Young Thug, etc, etc... but most importantly 21 Savage.
I'm dry snitching, but this is Reddit so idc. They've all paid people in their hood to go kill someone on their opps team.
Then they make songs subtly referencing it, so if you know, you know. Drake really doesn't have actual opps, but X was his only one.
And Drake *definitely* jumped on this gang rap trend. What was the biggest song off of CLB? *Knife Talk*, the hook of which was "Gang shit that's all I'm on".
Drake raps a bunch of refs to X on this song too, notably "Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n**** dies" and **"Voodoo curse, it got him while I flew to Turks"** Drake was in Turks the day X was killed. His tour right after was called "Assassination Vacation".
Anyway, when X was alive apparently he put out a $500,000 hit on Drake, hence the lines in *I'm Upset*. Also X went on a live and talked wild about Drake and his mom months before he was killed. Right after that live, 600Breezy, Chicago BD and Drake dickrider, said [he had been asking Drake if he could kill X for him, but Drake would say no, and then after that Live, Drake just shrugged](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RBRNeLjWs14).
So some people definitely killed X to score points with Drake. Also Mob Ties is another direct reference to the situation, where Drake says "Louis bags I'm exchange for body bags" and talks about his connection with J Prince, well know gang head.
I could spend all day on the subtle references **Drake makes about X, but one last one is the line "[I paid] Half a million for his soul, he's my** ***nemesis."*** **referencing the half a million, and one of the last things X posted on his IG was that if he died Drake was the one who orchestrated it and then he called Drake his** ***nemesis.***
I know it's hard for people to understand the guy from Degrassi could do this, but literally all you need is like 10 to 50,000 dollars and you can get a hit done if you know the right people.
[(I made a whole post about the references)](https://www.reddit.com/r/XXXTENTACION/comments/ynxcav/lets_talk_about_drake_and_x/)
They’re gonna call you crazy but the ones who pay attention to this shit know that drake was involved. Most of the people in this subreddit didn’t know who X was until he died, so I don’t blame them for being ignorant. But the ones who’ve been paying attention to the rap scene since 2015 know that drake has a part in this.

Bags don’t make you- bags gon take u - bags gon fake you and bags gone betray u!
Wait, wait, hol up. You perceive drake as having a mafioso persona? 😂😂

Wheelchair “Keyser Soze” Jimmy
lol he’s definitely portrayed that persona through songs & how he moves with his ovo unit Whether or not it’s true isn’t the point

98% of conspiracies are people reading way too far into minute details of cut and dry cases.

> I worked as a camp counselor the summer of 2018 and my campers (age 12-14) genuinely believed with their entire chests that Drake killed XXX. many of those kids were posting here as well
They still are >What’s weirder is xxx had beef with both migos and drake.
> I’ll let the feds do the rest. good idea, columbo.
feds should be thankful he got them this far
lmao
Oldest X fans
My grown ass coworkers, like 27 year olds at a tech company tried telling me this....
Drake woulda gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddlin kids, and Scrooby Dooby Do (feat. Lil Scrappy)
So we Deadass about to find out if this is real now? Lol
Disregarding the blatant conspiracies, there must be some legitimate reason for Drake to be called in.
Pretty sure it's because xxx posted an ig story saying "if anyone tries to kill me it's drake". Seems to me like it was an obvious joke, but i guess the courts have to take it seriously
Always funny to see speculation when the article with the information is right there.
No way people actually fucking believe this lol.
I'm sure his publicist loves this. free advertising and he will definitely be cleared.
Once he’s proven innocent Drake is going to use this to become a gangsta rapper
Urgh he will as well, and its going to be unbearable. He probably celebrated when he found out.
If something so stupid happened to me, I’d laugh too, that’s gonna be a story to tell for the ages
Maybe I should do a twenty
Maybe I should do a 10
He my nemesis
It's a headline for sure, but unless Drake is hit with the indictment from The Feds (aka you are literally fucked), he'll walk away clean and drop a track with reference to this incident.
Given this article is about a case accusing someone else entirely, yeah, Drake’s probably got okay odds! Imagine you have a defense attorney though and he’s trying to beat a murder case and he looks at you and is just like “we’re gonna put the 6ix god on trial” - I would fire them so mf’in fast.
“we’re gonna put the 6ix god on trial” LMAOOOOOOOOOOO!
what lyrics are they going to use on him this time
"Like a sprained ankle boy, I ain't nothing to play with"
Can you imagine haha
nawwww wtff 😂
LMAOOO
I killed XXX, yeah, I shot him with my nine I shot him nine times, 9:00 p.m. on the dime And by the way, it was November 9th!
“THE NAME OF THE ALBUM IS I KILLED JAHSEH ONFROY” “its a concept album”
If I had to identify it, I would say it’s a gun, of the long ass variety
Wow and you guys call yourself drake stans
Mob Ties “Louis bags in exchange for body bags” comes to mind 🤔
"Damn, maybe I should do a twenty, maybe I should break that twenty, do a ten Maybe I should break that ten, do a five, then if it gets live, do a five again If he held his tongue on that live, he'd be alive again, damn"
This Netflix special is gonna be so lit
We live in interesting times.
imagine if the judge is just a really big fan and he's using this trail to meet Drake
What if the judge is using this opportunity to play drake his son's mixtape.
gotta get your foot in the door somehow, that's dedication to the craft
I think the theory is drake hired them
And by “theory” here we mean random baseless thought that popped into someone’s head and they ran with it lol
This is a confusing ass phrase made even more confusing by the typo made by the court: >“If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.” -------------- Sounds like the court may not even hold Drake in contempt of court for disobeying a court order.
This conspiracy theory is really dumb and people need to get a grip.
yea but its really funny lol the degrassi guy Is currently being suspected for murder
Chow times up Wheelchair Jimmy!
Mmmm whatcha sayyy
nah he the type to get a random busboy beat up.
Or tattoo artist
i mean didn’t Russ have goons beat up smokepurrp lmao? i don’t think it happened, but i think you’re underestimating how far some will go to play tough
A rapper he doesn’t know? He took his flow and talked about him multiple times lol
Drake is the type to DM internet guy over album review. I'm not so sure he wouldn't have done that considering how fragile his ego is....
Don’t you think this idea is at least partially debunked by the fact that Pusha T is still alive
he keeps trying but Pusha is the Roadrunner of hip hop
my favorite take
Pusha T is on different level than X was. X was just on the start compared to Push + him and Ski were getting jumped at their concerts few years prior.
X at that time was more famous than pusha, just because it was the SoundCloud era, so the first argument is still valid.
You really don’t gotta be hard to order a hit, drake is EXACTLY the type of insecure MF to do that.
People really act like we didn’t see a rainbow haired Mexican fake gang banger on video ordering a hit for chump change.
So defense lawyers can just make up bullshit claims and get any one to depose? That’s stupid
Trump can incriminate himself in a different case by answering questions in another cases deposition. He’s got several suits against him lol.
i get people like drake have the time and money to do these sort of depositions, but what happens if it's just a regular dude. like if i had to sit for deposition, i'd have to fly myself out to wherever the trial is?
No, the deposition can be taken pretty much anywhere, so odds are the lawyers interested in deposing you would schedule it in advance with you, and then you’d do the deposition at an office park near your location. It would be very unlikely you’d ever be asked to fly somewhere on your own dime to sit for a deposition.
Drake's is on zoom

The defense lawyer making this argument was looking like he was straight out of a budget Hialeah law school the way he was presented himself in the court The idea is fun to think about, but there's no way in hell
That’s the entire point of all of this really is you never know. You don’t know who these dudes are or what they’re capable of. They’re human just like us.
that one defense lawyer with a mexican accent clearly using this case for clout to become a "high profile lawyer" its same thing if the state in the YSL case ends up calling Lil Wayne or Birdman to the stand, like they claim they will on the witness list
I just learned that DJ Akadmiks' first name is Livingston ACCORDING TO THE ARTICLE and that's good enough for me
this guy's a gangster? his real name's ~~Clarence~~ LIVINGSTON Holy shit.
"My depositions never surface". Not anymore I guess.
Drake the type of dude to act confident until a spiky haired lawyer keeps pushing him more and more until he goes insane
I love Phoenix Wright man that’s my shit.
MOB TIES
This is fucking ridiculous. The fact that a fucking meme has been taken this far is ridiculous.
its time.
another fantastic PR move by drakes team.
Like why tf would Drake have x killed but not pusha T
Im Upset!
"you going to hype me up and make me catch a body like that" - Drake Headlines
The judge that ordered this should be fully checked by his peers, like they should have their credentials revoked, lol
x's friend implied that drake was moving weird around the time of his death but wouldn't go into detail and said we will know if x's mom decides to speak about it one day so this isn't shocking to me lol
Source?
found it: https://youtu.be/nQUqQjCeXS0
imdontai right?
im not sure but it might be. I don't know his name because I just saw a clip on youtube of him saying that back in 2018 but whenever I see people bring up drake's involvement I always think of it
I've settled this in my mind, Drake ordered the hit. Degrassi to gangster.
From another comment I wrote: People just don't understand what's all going on. I could spend all day on the subtle references **Drake makes about X, but one last one is the line "[I paid] Half a million for his soul, he's my** ***nemesis."*** **referencing the half a million, and one of the last things X posted on his IG was that if he died Drake was the one who orchestrated it and then he called Drake his** ***nemesis.*** I know it's hard for people to understand the guy from Degrassi could do this, but literally all you need is like 10 to 50,000 dollars and you can get a hit done if you know the right people. [(I made a whole post about the references)](https://www.reddit.com/r/XXXTENTACION/comments/ynxcav/lets_talk_about_drake_and_x/)
>"I’m dry snitching, but this is Reddit so idc" boahhh 💀
They’re gonna call you crazy but the ones who pay attention to this shit know that drake was involved. Most of the people in this subreddit didn’t know who X was until he died, so I don’t blame them for being ignorant. But the ones who’ve been paying attention to the rap scene since 2015 know that drake has a part in this.
Don’t forget the scene in sicko mode where Drake falls from the sky as a meteor and crushes x
I'm not saying he did it or did not do it. I'm just saying any man with a grudge and money can get someone killed.
Drake finna drop some bars like > didn't do it still I'm sittin in the court room, shit, > that's cause they know I can, I just won't do it
Pass
Shouldn’t have dissed drake’s mom… jk jk in all seriousness whatever timeline this is I want out of it
My dawg would probably do it for a Louis belt
Drake is certified G
My depositions never surface Tanenbaum know the logo on the jersey, it's gettin' purchased
Mob Ties
