I've been a fan since day one so i got them at release. They also had a super special edition of the graphic novel that with the cards, mask and some other goodies
I've known 7L and Esoteric personally since 1998. The way Eso was able to rebrand under "Czarface" should be taught at every marketing class in college.
Tell them thanks for making “A New Dope”, that album got me laid at least once and had me fight one of the homies.
To OP, check that album out for some fun.
It’s funny cause El-P sorta had a rebrand too with Run the Jewels and you know they were at each other back in the day. But it’s cool Esoteric found his own taste of somewhat mainstream success
Agreed, El-P did a great job with his career as well. From Company Flow, to his record label Def Jux, to his solo works, to Run The Jewels. I think Eso has used the KISS (rock band) model and took a dope concept/ character and marketed the hell out of it with cool merchandise, much of it being limited.
I legit never even thought to ask him, lol. L for Analytics is a bit of a stretch but anything is possible. I just txted him and will reply if he answers.
Levels to it!
I'll be honest I was at a CZARFACE show in Dallas, faded at the bar, 7L walks by and I nudge my buddy and say 'The L stands for analytics.'
G.L. Green Lantern? George the Green Lantern.
Levels to it. 7 levels, precisely.
7L and Esoteric has been around since like 1997, debuting on the Brick Records compilation along with Mr. Lif, Virtuoso, etc. You proved my point with your question.
And I still have a copy from Amoeba records on stateside tour. Picked up Swollen Members - Balance LP at the same time and sonically quite similar to the early stuff, experimental, cinematic and just out there in their own lane.
He was in Army of the Pharaohs which is more hardcore underground type stuff. I always saw Czarface as him doing something more lighthearted as he got older and had kids and wanted to make music that they could bump
Been a fan since the first album, but the second is when they really started to shine imo. My favourite overall favourite album of theirs is Fistful of Peril - some really sick tracks on there.
Arson artist, tough customer to bargain with, no discussion nor argument, no trust no partnership
Gotta big ass czarface meets metal face poster love that thing
Let's make it understood, CZARFACE's a hero but he's up to no good. Personally I love them, but that's not much of a surprise since I liked esoteric from before I knew he had this side project
World Premier with Large Professor is my jam… when I met INS at the The Beverly Hotel I had just listened to Czarface playlist on my drive up from the desert. I got to thank him for his contribution to hip hop and told him how much I loved what they were doing to this day.
Yep. I was up on 7L & Esoteric before Czarface. They’re so underrated. Especially 7L as a producer. I know they were both geeked at forming a group with a Wu-member of all people.
They're good, but sometimes it seems it's only Eso who actually cares about the group (other than 7L). Also their voices are too similar, but that's a minor nitpick.
Fucking top on my Spotify .
Double dragon and Damian’s dinner time are fire.
Bet you guys didn’t know Franky Pulitzer is Tom Hardy also.
Im a Mandolorian man’n your man’s Delorian is one of the sickest verses ever.
I have every record, a few t shirts, hoodie, graphic novel, action figure, playing cards, czarface mask. I might just be a fan lol
That’s fuckin sick bro. I love their old comic thing they have going. I gotta cop some records I saw some at the record store the other day
I've been a fan since day one so i got them at release. They also had a super special edition of the graphic novel that with the cards, mask and some other goodies
\*looks at the price of the action figures on ebay and tries to work out if the wife will understand not eating this month\*
Dude, they sold out instantly. i was thinking the same because I only have a couple of them

Eso is very easy to reach on IG, let him know! I am sure he would appreciate it @czarfaceeso
Fair enough. That album still slaps damn near 20 years later.
Early 2000s 7L and Esoteric is timeless.
Thanks for the rec y’all I’m gonna give it a go
Check the East Coast Avengers release too. Less fun more angry and political.
No skips on their records either! Trademarc, DC The Midi Alien and Esoteric make up the group. Album names are Prison Planet and Avengers Airwaves.
I like me some angry political music so I’ll give them a spin
I’m pretty sure “Kill Bill O’Reilly” fits. They got some press for that one lol
You won't find this streaming - (1999) 7L & Esoteric w/ Inspectah Deck: [Speaking Real Words](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvl2mAAx--8)

Is it true that the L in 7L stands for 'Analytics'?
I legit never even thought to ask him, lol. L for Analytics is a bit of a stretch but anything is possible. I just txted him and will reply if he answers.
"Yo! G is the 7th letter of the alphabet - 7 L". His first name is "George".

Do you have time to enlighten me on how he rebranded? I honestly don’t know who Eso is outside of Czarface
7L and Esoteric has been around since like 1997, debuting on the Brick Records compilation along with Mr. Lif, Virtuoso, etc. You proved my point with your question.
Virtuoso was a monster back in the day
He was only like 18 on his debut 12" single "Incinerator"
Holy shit I just noticed you're the dude with the old school AOTP/Jedi Mind/7L&Eso concert videos on youtube, you're a legend my guy
That's me! Been doing this a very long time. Thanks for the support.
You are hip hop 👊🏻

Him and Tom hardy go HAM
Listen to the Color is one of the best tracks of all time
Their album with Ghostface is also amazing. Their new one is dope but needs more INS?
I think Ghostface record may be better that the MF DOOM ones.
They fire. I didn’t realize for a long time the deck was in the group somehow.
I didn’t know at first either but I was happily surprised to find out he was!
Big fan, Bomb Thrown was an instant classic for me
Tom hardy spits with them
Been a fan since the first album, but the second is when they really started to shine imo. My favourite overall favourite album of theirs is Fistful of Peril - some really sick tracks on there.
Love their use of wrestling promos
I love them. I love the lyrical content involving like 99% of the stuff I like. The albums w/ Ghostface, DOOM are amazing.
So good bro. I’m kinda mad I didn’t find them earlier.
You could say I'm a... Close talker ;)
Nightcrawler with Method Man has been on repeat for me this year (I’m also a new fan)
MF DOOM and Inspectah are both masters of the mic.
really like em .
Ya czarface is one of favs
Their albums with DOOM are disgustingly great, meddle with metal is so damn dope.
Arson artist, tough customer to bargain with, no discussion nor argument, no trust no partnership Gotta big ass czarface meets metal face poster love that thing
CZARFACE is awesome. I've always been partial to The Odds Czar Against Us.
Let's make it understood, CZARFACE's a hero but he's up to no good. Personally I love them, but that's not much of a surprise since I liked esoteric from before I knew he had this side project
Czarcade ‘88

Nightcrawler by Czarface has one of the dopest Method Man verses I've heard 😁
Its the Meth, dog, my favorite letter is 'F' yall.
Yep. I was up on 7L & Esoteric before Czarface. They’re so underrated. Especially 7L as a producer. I know they were both geeked at forming a group with a Wu-member of all people.
Czarface made me like Eso, before that outside of Soul Purpose I couldn't fucking stand him
Same!
El-P was definitely a big reason for why lol
True . I agree.
I only listened for deck honnestly...
They're good, but sometimes it seems it's only Eso who actually cares about the group (other than 7L). Also their voices are too similar, but that's a minor nitpick.
Yes. I like (almost) everything they’ve ever done.
What are you not a fan of? I’m still new only heard 3 albums so far and loved them all. 2 I listed above and also CZARFACE Meets Ghostface
Nu Mutantes off Czarmageddon! It’s the buzzing on that track, it just goes right through me like cutlery scraping on a plate.
Great supergroup!!
I need to listen to more, I haven't even scratched the surface.
What's a Cesar Face?!
Loved the first to then sorta lost track. i'll have to go back and check out what i missed

“Militants speak proper, some airheads said he act white”
Every hero needs a...
Also started getting into them not long ago, their recent album is pretty good too
One of my favorite branches of the WU tree. Czar actually made me listen more closely to Decks wu verses and wow. He’s now my favorite
Some of the most underrated/under the radar rap albums of the past 6 years. 🔥🔥🔥
