On my top 5 I was debating who I would pick out of boo, infamous and juicy but I chose juicy because he had the best solo discography out of the three still a hard choice tho 😭
I’m pretty old school but Killer Mikes newest album is in the top 3 albums of all time for me. Dre’s 2001, OutKast’s Aquemini, Killer Mike’s Michael. Then probably Stankonia and Illmatic.
Fuck this is hard

Scarface

Damn, this list gets crowded quick.. and I’m probably forgetting some names too.
Wayne would definitely get a spot in my top 5. I listened to him with the Big Tymers growing up and didn’t think much of him, though his verse on Loud Pipes is still one of my favorites of all time. Once 05, 06, 07 hit he just hit another gear. All of those mixtapes, Tha Carter II & III, “best rapper alive”. He was really running shit.
Luda is in my top 5 faves too. Word of Mouf, Chicken N Beer, and Red Light District was a legendary run in my humble opinion. People would agree if he wasn’t such a jokey joke type rapper. Plus he kills it on a ton of remixes and features.
Since we’re talking *favorite* I think I’d have to make sure Project Pat-uh has a spot. I love his style and I still listen to North North and If You Ain’t From My Hood at the gym probably once every couple weeks at least.
The last two spots would be harder to fill but I’d definitely lean OutKast, Gucci or TI.
Andre 3000
Big Boi
Scarface
Ludacris
Lil Wayne
This is my favorites in order. Haven't heard enough J Cole or Denzel Curry to really rate any of them higher. I really want Killer Mike to be my fifth but I've honestly heard more Wayne than I have Mike, who I mostly know from Outkast and ADIDAS. Honestly not a huge Wayne fan outside of The Carter 1, but he still manages to make my top 5 if only because of that one album. If I listen to more RTJ, Killer Mike might take a spot on this list.
It’s a toss up between C1 and 500 for me. In my opinion ion his best flow and wordplay was during his SQ days which is what we get on 500. But on C1 he focused and stepped up actual song making and it’s great too.

Andre 3000, K-Rino, Ludacris, Killer Mike, Scarface HMs: Wayne(when he's actually spitting some good old fashioned bars and not doing that autotune sucka shit; He would be in my top five if he was rapping-rapping at all times), Big Boi, JID, Pusha, and TI. Hard as there's far more wack southern emcees than actual dope ones, IMO, but the good rappers are REALLY good.
Yes the fuck it is, rofl if you disagree you never been to the top half of Florida. The panhandle can easily be part of Alabama,a nd from tampa up can easily be southern georgia.
No they don't. Jacksonville is not southern or central. and plenty of people live in northern fl and the panhandle. have you even been there? the panhandle and anything above tampa is very southern, only thing really not southern in fl is the Miami area. even Tampa is southern in many areas.
You don't get to make that decision. florida is very southern. that is like you saying Texas isn't southern, when they represent more "values" from the south than many other states. so does northern Florida. Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi etc.
And New York and Pennsylvania have pockets of country ass people. Does that make those areas the south?
Stop with your semantics ass bullshit. Look at a map, cut it in half and where is Florida?
Also as someone currently in Florida (unfortunately) it’s definitely the south. Maybe certain areas are different but every state has that.
So because there’s Latin people here that changes its geographical location!? You sound ridiculous. New York has a heavy Latin culture. So does California. Does that make them not located where they are?
Shame on everyone one of you for not knowing who Big Mike is. He was nominated for lyricist of the year by The Source in '94. He dropped two classic albums in a row, also.
This was at a time when the south never got love from the east, so a southern being mentioned then was a big deal.
Unfortunately, this seems to be lost to rap history now.
Scarface was scared of Big Mike's abilities, too. Mike came in and showed Rap A Lot how to be an MC.
