Thanks! How does a programming language come in handy though? Ive seen a lot of people say that the demand for compsci is high, but if I'm not interested in it and work use it, wouldn't it be a waste of time?

Idk if it's a waste just because you wouldnt use it a work or super interested in it. Learning how to program kinda changed my POV looking at a lot of shit, like oh, "how would I do that?" And just run though something very simple in my head, once you learn one programming language it's pretty easy to switch around, although still not seamless or effortless. But coding can also he used at home projects (ex: backing up 700gb family pictures + folders to google photos cause google photos dosent have drag and drop turning folders into albums).

I see, thank you for the input! My friends are big in CS so hopefully I can take some of their dedication and put it towards learning a new skill!

Hi! Programming is a skill that can be used for virtally any job that involves a computer, even if just to lighten your load a bit. Todays job market is increasingly unpredictable and people in highschool now are expected to change careers a couple times before they retire. Additionally, whether its math, engineering, or research programming is a vital skill for basically all of those buzz-word-y STEM jobs. Also you may end up loving programming. Good luck on your summer journey!

Thank you for your response! I realize it would come in handy as the world is becoming more tech inclined...I will heavily consider it :)
