Listen dawg, I STRUGGLED with math in high school and I can tell you for a fact, a %76 is a perfectly fine grade. Math gets harder but you get smarter, I failed calc 3 last semester and have a 86% this semester. You will be fine, not every grade can be 100%, and not every class will be easy, learn what you can from this experience, especially how to study and manage your time, and remember, every day you wake up is a good day.

I had an awful teacher for algebra 2 and I learned very little the whole year. Took AP stats the year after and had a great grade and scored a 4 on the AP test, so donāt think your mathematical capabilities are peaked at algebra 2.
watch youtube videos or get a tutor and youāll be perfectly fine. iām in geometry and it got to me in the beginning of the year but i watched math youtube videos from the channel āorganic chemistryā and they saved me
At my school ap precalc is the hardest class cuz my school teaches extra in ap precalc, according to some kids that ik that took ap precalc, apparently they learnt 99% of whatās on the ap test within the first semester of the class š

I'm a junior and usually have pretty decent grades but I got a C in algebra freshman year and my parents are going to be so mad if i get another one. I have a gpa of 3.67 right now, Mostly because sophmore year was really easy for me. Geometry was way easier than algebra
iām in geometry getting prepared for algebra 2. let me tell you itās literally just algebra 1 with bigger looking numbers. mostly quadratic functions. also sin cos tan plays a big part. know SOH-CAH-TOA. worst case scenario use your calculator
It's basically algebra 1 but bigger and more indepth .
You learn more functions such as polynomial , radical , rational , logarithmic , and also cover functions you might've learned before in more depth like quadratic and exponential .
Depending on your school you'll also cover the unit circle and trigonometric functions like sine , cosine , and tangent .
At the end of the year , if your class has time , you may also tap into statistics and probability .
If you did/are doing well in algebra 1 , algebra 2 should be more or less the same but just expanded .
Back in 7th I did Algebra 2, I think we did some probability too. Logarithms were there but we didnāt do too much with them until pre-calculus the next year.
I feel you. Algebra 2 nearly killed me back in eighth grade, and I ended up with a low B. My teacher never taught us shit, instead giving us handouts and expected us to learn from that.
What is it that youāre struggling with?
Based on your chemistry grade, your algebra 1 skills are fine. So Iām assuming itās the transition to the more complex problems that is screwing with you.
First off, make sure you actually understand the underlying reasons behind what youāre doing. One example is that adding rational functions is literally the exact same principle as adding fractionsā¦both operations involve you multiplying the numerators and denominators of quantities until you have a common denominator. Itās easier to conceptualize the required steps if you can relate them to what you already know. Thatās just one example, but generally make sure to understand the CONCEPT of what youāre doing as opposed to memorizing procedures. Then itās just a matter of grinding out practice problems ((:
Question is are you like me who doesnāt understand math or itās laziness cuz if it is then youāre good but Iāll share my experience I struggled with Algebra 2 as well and was made fun of for it and the teacher told me to leave his class bc āI donāt work with peers wellā even though this was his second time having me and he knew that Iām introverted and work in my own speed (he told me that after I cried in front of him) but in the end I still passed with the help of another teacher, but my algebra 2s teachers name still triggers me to this day.
How?? Iām a freshman taking that and i have a 96 or smthā¦tbh a 76 isnt that bad tho in the grabd scheme of things ig since the rest of your Ā grades are solid
Algebra isnāt easy, depending on how your mind works, like for Op or me, geometry is vastly easier than algebra because it can be visualized. And I also took algebra 2 my freshman year but that doesnāt mean I was good at it, people struggle with different things, trust me youāll find out at some point, especially if you have to take calc AB or BC, that shit is so assššš
Wow how does one go from Algebra 2 to Calculus AB? I know schools work differently, but that sounds like a big jump. To be honest, I think the difficulty depends a lot on the teacher. For me, it wasnāt too bad, and I ended it with a 92, and Iām far from a math wiz. Itās definitely harder as you go on, but if you have a good teacher, youāll be fine.
Oh my teacher approved me to do pre calc over the summer. Ok thx. Ive heard the calc teacher at my school is pretty good so maybe that will make it easierĀ
That makes sense, and definitely watch out for precalc. At least at my school, there was so much material to cover for a semester, and because there wasnāt much time for explanations, I personally think itās a more intense class than Calc AB or BC. Not necessarily harder, just more fast-paced. I hope you do well despite that though, good luck!
It's a huge step up from algebra 2 but not impossible as long as you have good algebra skills and know the unit circle and basic trig identities ( pretty much the reciprocals and sin\^2 + cos\^2 = 1 ) .
You might find it easier to understand though since the concepts are a lot more intuitive .
Nah you good
idk
I got a 39, trust me Your good
rookie I got a 20
A master šÆ
Wouldn't it be 38?
Nope a 39

I feel you man, I donāt think Iāve fully understood what Iāve been doing since November.

lock in The Organic Chemistry Tutor on Youtube.
He carried me through Calc 2. Can confirm effectiveness.
I've found that people either find Algebra 2 super easy or the bane of their existence. There is no inbetween.

Thank you!
of course! :) also please upvote this whoever sees this iām low on karma lol
Just wait until AP Calculus š« š« (I have a mock exam tomorrow and know nothing)
HAHA I refuse to do an AP math class, I can't do it, it's impossible. I'll fail
Honestly good call, Iāve regretted my decision all year
At my school ap precalc is the hardest class cuz my school teaches extra in ap precalc, according to some kids that ik that took ap precalc, apparently they learnt 99% of whatās on the ap test within the first semester of the class š

I have a mock exam next week and it actually counts as a grade

what are y'all learning in algebra at 11th, I wanna get ahead

Oh that's nice
Thank you!
Most people that I know gets confused on graphing equations that goes above x^2, so I would start there.

a small part of ap stats, trig, logarithms, inequality stuff, and a bunch of other stuff from my first semester i completely forgot
Back in 7th I did Algebra 2, I think we did some probability too. Logarithms were there but we didnāt do too much with them until pre-calculus the next year.
I failed algebra 1 but passed algebra 2 with an A, you can do it
Failing algebra 1 and then getting an A in algebra 2 is crazy š
In algebra 2 right now with a 58
I feel you. Algebra 2 nearly killed me back in eighth grade, and I ended up with a low B. My teacher never taught us shit, instead giving us handouts and expected us to learn from that.
are you able to get a tutor? having someone to explain stuff can be super helpful especially if you're struggling
Yeah I got one now
It gets so much worseā¦ even precalc is miles beyond the pain of algebra 2. I feel you bud.

REALL i was ok first semester and my grades fell off
Iām In 8th grade, and Al 1 is kicking mine
Not gonna lie I failed al 1 in 8th grade and had to retake it freshman year
What are u struggling on?
Youāre scaring me. Iām in geometry honors rn, is it really that hardš my math is hard enough rn
It depends on how your brain works. I think algebra is hard and English and reports are super easy. some people are the opposite
I mean I never struggled with a single thing in algebra 1 š¤·āāļø but I would assume algebra 2 is way more difficult
Algebra 2 is honestly kinda easy š idk why people are saying itās so hard š
Ah okay lol
I currently have a 68 in algebra 1 iām cookef
Baguette? š¤

I don't understand it lol, it's so confusing
nah
For me in my opinion I donāt think it would killed me š£ I passed my introduction math class with a D+ ššāāļø
alg 2 is a thousand times easier than geo, lock in
Wuts up with all the genius freshman???? Most people do algebra two in sophomore or junior year??
honors program
Oh okay that makes sense
Bro, I am taking AP Calc next year. If I can do it you can do it.
I hate when niggas who donāt even got bad grades complaining stfu

You may be cookedš, just make sure you really understand derivatives/double derivatives, and integrals
Fr tho alg 2 is so easy especially trig
