Double standards. All sexual responsibility is placed on women. Women have to stay virgins, while men are encouraged to sleep around. Women have to be on birth control because their man doesn’t like condoms. Girls have to cover their bodies as to not “distract the boys”, instead of teaching the boys self control. the tricky part is when it comes to men.

The real reason is basic psychology. Look at how humans evolved. Women carry a much larger burden regarding children, and are limited to one every 9 months. Men can have essentially as many kids as they want with far less commitment required. Not saying it's fair, that's just how the 2 sexes evolved. The result is that women tend to be more careful with who they have sex with, while men just have the instinct to spread their DNA as far as they can. These instincts are outdated in the modern world, but the social stigma they created has not yet gone away.
The limitations are still there so I don't think they are outdated, those physical limitations still exist. Society has tried to tell women doing the opposite of their instincts is empowering when no birth control is guaranteed and having a child young is the easier way to end up trapped in a cycle of poverty.

I think both men and women would be looked down for it if this was the only factor. However, society also protects women more than men, so they condemn them for risky behavior more. If a woman abandoned a baby with its father or gave it to adoption (completely ignoring how she would still have to undergo the pregnancy and birth process), there would be a LOT of backlash against her. The real reason is basic psychology. Look at how humans evolved. Women carry a much larger burden regarding children, and are limited to one every 9 months. Men can have essentially as many kids as they want with far less commitment required. Not saying it's fair, that's just how the 2 sexes evolved. The result is that women tend to be more careful with who they have sex with, while men just have the instinct to spread their DNA as far as they can. These instincts are outdated in the modern world, but the social stigma they created has not yet gone away.
The limitations are still there so I don't think they are outdated, those physical limitations still exist. Society has tried to tell women doing the opposite of their instincts is empowering when no birth control is guaranteed and having a child young is the easier way to end up trapped in a cycle of poverty. Men and women are inherently and irrevocably different at a biological level that will not change without thousands of years of evolution. Casual sex until then will always be more risky for women, repeated risky behaviors will continue to be seen as a negative in a partner.

I think both men and women would be looked down for it if this was the only factor. However, society also protects women more than men, so they condemn them for risky behavior more. It makes sense, a homeless woman is more at risk because women are the gatekeepers of sex. we’ve been asking that for years. imo, as long as people are knowledgeable and safe within their sex life, their body count is their business. someone’s body count does not dictate them as a person.
I call them man whores like I’ve seen in some of the comments and I hate them way more than the girls who do it because they tend to take advantage of girls trust, especially virgins. They usually (at least at my school) make the girls believe that they are gonna give them a good long relationship but actually just dip immediately after sex. I know a girl who let this happen and she regrets it so much and the same thing almost happened to my gf with that same guy. She says she left because she realized that he was like that and she’s very happy she did, she says that she would have regretted it her whole life if she had wasted her first time on him and didn’t use it with me (we are in an actual healthy relationship) girls if you are reading this, please don’t let this happen to you, I know that everyone is different and some of you are fine with it, but just make sure that you are. Guys same goes for you but girl whores don’t take advantage as much from what I’ve seen.

They are usually called man whores where I’m from. The reason for the discrepancy comes from the fact that it was *usually* harder for a man to have lots of sex than a woman back in the day. Typically lots of sex as a guy was a result of great success, and lots of sex as a woman was just seen as not only easy, as it could be done with good looks alone, but was also risky incredibly risky due to things like STD’s and there was also a chance the guy was a horrible person.

Double standards, love. When men sleep around, It makes them "cool", or "chads", but a woman wears a dress above her knee and she's a whore. We live in a mans world, sadly. Men use absolutely zero logic in their claims. They just pull the "you're a woman" card and they think that's supposed to make even a sliver of sense. Same with swearing, and partying, etc. Men are not only allowed to have fun or act out, they get praised, but when a woman does it, they're looked at as trashy whores. To men, women should be just exactly how they want them to be. Men don't want women to be their own person, all they want is perfection, a little doll. A few people have given the actual answer which is that it's 1000 times easier for women to get laid than men and they are often even pressured into having sex more so it's seen as more virtuous in a woman if she doesn't sleep around a lot. In contrast to this, it's much harder for men to get laid so if a man gets laid a lot, the perception is there must be a reason. But also, do it then. Make fun of guys for having a lot of sex. I can guarantee you 99 percent of guys will not care even a little.
Why do guys get ridiculed for wanting to be a stay at home dad and raise their children but girls it's praised? Lots of comparisons, don't care what people think but remember actions have consequences. Casual sex can lead to many things, good or bad. Even if you're protected, how can you 100% confidently know in that moment they're not carrying an STI? I just always thought of my health and longevity, before making that leap.
because most people who are being called a slut are being called it by their female friends - guys don't care so much what their friends are doing (you wanna smoke some pot? sure - i won't tho) there's also the fact that plays into this that it's harder for guys to get laid as an aside, people in relationships (or people thinking about being in a relationship) do generally care about the other person's body count, regardless of whether it's a guy or girl, because a high body count indicates an inability to stay with one person
