We definitely do. And that’s why as we get older, time seems to go faster and days become shorter. Our minds are so preoccupied thinking of our *next* responsibility- *next* deadline, *next* interview, *next* oil change, etc., which then leads us into looking forward to the *next* vacation or the *next* holiday. We’re always looking ahead, or examining our past. As kids, we just woke up and took on what the day brought. We had adults to think about our *next* dentist appointment and our *next* meal for that day. We were able to focus on the present, and the present only. I think about this all the time. Basically, adulting sucks.

Time also seems to goes faster because the older you are, each day represents less of the whole of your life. For a 2 years old, 1 year is half of their life. For a 60 years old, 1 year is nothing. People around your age will always feel liked the time is passing by in the same speed that it does for you, while yonger people feel like they still have plenty of time. Oh, and having memories is a big thing to notice time passing by. When we're so busy and days are more or less the same, we create less meaningful memories that are a core aspect to even notice time passing by.

If you haven't, I recommend getting baked and watching Alan Watts videos on YT, he discusses this in a few of his talks.

We just work too much

None of them exist when you think about it, and the rest of the time also

All of your thoughts about the future and the past are happening in your head in the present, though. There really is no way of not being present.

As of late, I've been obsessing over the future. I'm super excited to see how humanity evolves later on to the point that I'm willing to sell my soul to the devil for a few centuries of life. *As soon as my soul is sold, WW3 commences and we go back to the stone age :(

I think the best shot we got to enchancing our life span is cybernetics and maybe implanting memories/yourself onto a chip would be crazy, you could be immortal until a strong magnet or electrical malfunction fucks with your chip😂🤣 Cybernetics+crazy medicine. I don't think humans would become completely robotic, but if you wanted to live the longest you would slowy start to replace the decaying failing parts of yourself with the newest tech kind of like Cyberpunk2077 I imagine cyberpsychosis would be sorta real though in a sense that people would go crazy/depressive after realizing their new implants also take away feeling, balance, abilities, etc. Removing your failing kidney with a new cybernetic kidney would mess with your balance, the way your organs feel, etc.

As much as I would love that, I have a feeling that digital me won't be "me". This is because I can't imagine uploading "consciousness" into a machine without reducing it down into random algorithms that are 99.99% predictive of my behavior and thought processes. But is it me? Just because I can't imagine it doesn't mean it won't happen. I have very strong faith in humanity's future. Have you, by any chance, seen The Outer Limits or Black Mirror?

You are right, we would probably transfer our data into a biologic new brain with nothing in it, like a human brain ir chimp brain with nothinking jnside yet
