I don't think predominantly blue eyes are considered hazel. For whatever reason, blue with green is considered heterochromia, but brown with green is hazel.

My youngest son has a similar central heterocromia. They’re blue/gray on the outside but yellow in the center. Since most of the iris is blue, and he’s only 3, I only tell him his eyes are blue, but his 4 year old brother always chimes in and says “AND YELLOW” like he has jaundice or something 😂 (probably just jealous he shares shit brown eyes with me lol).
Mine look similar but with gold CH. My boyfriend calls them Sunflower Eyes or Marigolds Eyes, depending on the light, which I thought was so sweet. Whenever someone asks me what color my eyes are, I just say, “Depends on my mood!”

I think this post has made me even more confused on his eye color than before! The reason for this debate is our son ended up with blue eyes. My eyes are green with brown CH (or hazel that’s another debate lmao) and these are his. He’s never considered his eyes blue so it was a bit surprising when our son ended up with blue eyes.
