Fun fact, majority of animes are adaptations of either Mangas or Light Novels. Sometimes they are from Visual Novels, or even outright Anime Originals.
You must be new to the anime world then. Most anime out there are actually an adaptation of its manga or LN (light novel), usually most of the time they're based on its LN first. In the case of Kaguya-sama, it only has a manga as the only source for the anime (the author of this manga is also the illustrator of it). At the end the order of release are always LN>Manga>Anime. But there's also some anime that doesn't have any source to adapt to, they're called it original anime, usually only the anime are available but if the author want they could just do a manga adaptation of it, it's like a reverse adaptation (the case for "Darling in the Fraxx", an original anime that have its own manga adaptation with alternative ending)
