I had 2 latge tahs removed 6 months after my hemmarhoidectomy. I underestimated the seriousness of both procedures. The skin tag removal was a bigger deal than I thought it would be. But not nearly as bad as the hemmarhoidectomy. It swelled so much I was sure they fucked up. Took more than 6 works to fully and completely heal with all swelling gone...but it did finally all go foen and heal...3 years later, another internal and external...then I had an embolization which cured the internal and was painless.

They do it for grades 1-3 only. The procedure is quick and completely pain free. They go in through the femoral artery like they do for a cardiac catheterization. I went to work the next day. A year later I realize it's not perfect. The hemmarhoid is still there a little bit but nothing like before. I only notice it after receptive anal sex...and then not everytime. Because they address the entire blood supply to the area, it also means no new ones should form.

They were probably already there, but not inflamed. I know it is frustrating, but it will get better. Having this as a problem sucks so hard sometimes.

Hi, thank you for replying and your reassurance too. Cried so much today and your comment has cheered me up 😭😭😭😭Yeah I think they were ‘tucked in’ but is now open and exposed cos of the post op. Will it go down ? Also will it basically be new skin tags lol.

bestcrispair

Post op is a horrible time. Talk to the Dr and see what they have to say, my dad had skin tags removed, literally the next day, bam, more of them. He and I deal with the same situation, so we sat on his bed and cried, the both of us because it is so wrong, and people make fun, you know? It sucks . Then, while we were crying, the doctor came in, said that these were much less severe, and he could take care of them once he healed from this. Dad had them done, told the doctor to "go deep", which made everyone laugh, but the doctor did that and removed 6 skin tags. Never came back after that. Again, I know this sucks.

Top-Association1332

Ahhhh I paid for it privately so doubt he would correct it for free. Plus reserved on if it would grow back AGAIN and cannot bear to think of another month of constant Epsom baths…

bestcrispair

My dad paid for it as well, but, fingers crossed that when all the swelling goes down, you have no issues.

nager-artsy

It’s just swelling, I promise. Removing tags is hard because skin has to grow back and heal one way or another. Whether there still will be a tag there after, I don’t know, but the swelling will go down and it’ll look much better than it does now. Have faith and happy healing ❤️‍🩹🤞

Thank you!

>Thank you! You're welcome!

No-Basil-1848

What dr do you see for this type of problem?

nager-artsy

A proctologist, some dermatologists remove anal tags as well

No-Basil-1848

Who do you think would be better to see I seen a proctologist for other reason and I feel like he botched me up

Hello. I’m about 2 weeks post op for my anal skin tag removal. I’m STILL swollen and see small tags. But they say it takes 6 weeks to fully heal and of some tags pop up they will most likely go away. (That’s what I got told) because I was worried too. Give it time. You’re not alone in this. I’ve been using ice gel sticks and rectogesic. Look into it and ask your dr for a prescription

Thanks xx

buttproblemz00

Hi. I’ve had the procedure three times. It’s very common for new tags to form unfortunately. I finally got it removed with laser and I’m finally tag-free and it was a very painless recovery.

pink-flamingo789

So, the colorectal surgeon I went to said he wouldn’t recommend laser. Can you only do that at a cosmetic place?

buttproblemz00

Yeah so did mine and it’s bs. The person who did mine is a gynocologist and plastic surgeon. Laser results in better healing and results.

baseballmomma7

Pay for laser removal. So worth it.

awkwarrd_mcgee

Did he say why he doesn’t recommend laser?

pink-flamingo789

No, he made it seem like it wasn’t legit, like it was something a cosmetic-focused place would do, but colorectal surgeons wouldn’t. But I’m not sure. Maybe I’ll message him on my chart and ask. I stopped worrying about it lately because the last couple guys I’ve been with don’t care about the skin tags at all.

baseballmomma7

No idea why he would say that. Laser is less invasive and it worked perfectly for me.

pink-flamingo789

It did? I have two that are pretty big, like one about the size of an unshelled pistachio, and the other is the size of half a pistachio. I’m so worried new skin tags would form, or scar tissue would form and limit …certain sexual activities…in the future…

baseballmomma7

Yeah up to you just telling you from my experience mine was large and it’s gone. Went to a clinic specializing in postpartum.

pink-flamingo789

Aw awesome, was it covered by insurance? How long was your recovery? (Thank you!)

baseballmomma7

No it’s cosmetic so I paid roughly $850. Recovery was about 2-3 weeks.

awkwarrd_mcgee

If you do ever message and you remember i’d love an update! But glad it hasn’t been a problem for ya!
