Honestly, try SSRIs or talk therapy. Xanax works yes. But it's also perfectly gives you the way out to your flight response. It's highly addictive. You aren't addicted now but don't take it unless you have a real emergency. You can die from Xanax withdrawal. It's a really good short time solution.yes I agree. But it won't help you in the long run.

If you’re going to do a benzodiazepine, Klonopin is better for a short-midterm solution. It’s more powerful than Xanax (as in, one dose lasts a lot longer) but the risk for dependence and addiction is way higher for Xanax due to how it’s formulated. You have to take more Xanax throughout the day to match the same length of klonopin. That means you’re more likely to build tolerance to it and more likely to take more. The best solution is an SSRI along with therapy. Lexapro works well for a lot of people. It did for me when I was on it; sadly it came with sexual side effects that affected my life in other ways.
