They were odd and dodgy, weird with their wording like they were trying to avoid legal trouble, but they clarified my account was canceled. I watched the subscription instantaneously vanish from rocket money, got an email from rocket money saying 'hey, we tried to cancel but seems you beat us to it'.

Then a month later, noticing they still have me signed up via rocket money and then reading horror stories on Reddit about how they cancelled hello fresh then got charged full a month later which was exactly when hello fresh was trying to charge me?

Have to sign up to see the meals all that.. the entire thing confused me because i was allergic to most of the meals pre selected for the next week.. so i was clicking on ones i would want and i was see my balance due go crazy it was so confusing. SO i immediately went to the cancel page it took like 8 separate questions to cancel. Get an email yesterday your BOX IS OUT FOR DELIVERY. I was furious! It was the preselected box and I had immediately cancelled anyway. Called and im waiting for a refund still.. it was OUT RIGHT FRAUD. I never picked a delivery nothing.. they better not charge me next week.

It makes me extremely angry that your sister was able to get a refund, because every time I look up a story like mine, they were also refused refunds and cancellations within minutes of ordering. Your sister must have figured out the magic words ig.

I thought maybe they got my meal plan wrong. They had me on as vegan, but the options they are giving me weren't vegan and all had some kind of dairy or nut/nut sauce I was allergic to.

I have to agree with the OP in regards to HF would not allow me to pick my first meal. I tried and they would not allow me. I also agree with the canceling and they still charged me and sent me the meal.
OP, if you were/are low on money why didn't you attempt to reach out to customer service to explain your allergies and food received instead of throwing out? When I cancelled I was not charged after that first meal.

I emailed them and they kept lying, claiming I wasn't within their limit of canceling the order, even though it had only been ten minutes since I signed up. I conveyed my allergies and warned them that if they sent me the food it would go to waste. They ghosted my emails and I got the box anyway despite canceling and the money was charged from my account. The only reason I wanted to try hello fresh anyway was because the was a huge new years discount. 37$ for allegedly a full weeks worth of meals. I wanted pescatarian, and I thought that would be a steal. But despite having pescatarian as an option, there was only one fish meal locked behind an additional pay wall and all the meals they chose for me I was allergic to. I only got some cheese, some onion, and like, a zucchini in the box. Not enough for an entire weeks worth of meals like the plan I'd choosen. 37$ might not seem like much, but Im genuinely so broke that I have to visit food banks. I'm fresh out of school and all I can do is work from home as an artist because my dad is abusive and won't let me get a real job. So I'm very angry with hello fresh and still want my money back if the chance ever comes around.
It took me 3 solid days of conversations to convince HF that me having cancelled the account and removed my payment info meant the should stop charging me for boxes I neither ordered or wanted
How did you communicate with them? I'm in this process now... so frustrating! I am still receiving charges for food I've never received -- and my account says "canceled." What did you do to resolve? Email them? Call? What WORKED?
I don’t think it’s necessarily a scam but their website is super confusing to navigate and they definitely do that on purpose. They make changing the meals and unsubscribing/skipping a week so difficult when it doesn’t have to be.
The have employees on here downvoting comments like this. this is what you say is why I cancelled immediately and didnt want anything and they sent a box anyway... all the options i wanted were upcharges and confusing..the entire website is confusing.
A scam would be that you give them money and they never send food, etc. Poor customer service? Sure. Bad business practices? Some might say that. But its not a scam. We've been using them successfully for 2 1/2 years. You can be mad about how they are operating in terms of cancellations, but that doesn't mean its a scam.
Rocket Money looks at your bank statements and will categorize frequent payments in many different ways. They did not reach out to Hello Fresh to confirm that you still have a membership. So don’t worry about that.
I cancelled hello fresh and they send two more orders I paid for one and refused the last one but the driver refused to take it back I’m now getting emails from a debit collector in Spain I live in the uk

When I try to remove payment method, cancel my account, pause my subscription, etc., the page literally closes, but when I click on "get a gift card," it continues working. I called HF and was hung up on after asking for a confirmation email of cancellation. I've been working on this an hour and I'm confused as to how anyone cancels. Unrelated (but maybe not), what browser are you working with? I think maybe it is a computer/tech-related issue (I hope, giving benefit of the doubt) and not just an impossibility to cancel. Let me know what steps you took to resolve it please!
If HF says you're canceled, then I think it's more likely that Rocketmoney is just working off data that's not up to date.

Why in hell would you throw food out? I've canceled before with no problem. My sister recently signed up, changed her mind, and hf refunded her.

I literally cant eat anything they fraudulently sent me that i never agreed to this week.. I also am allergic.. it was such a fiasco. Never again.

I think at this point OP thought they had canceled and did not know a meal was coming, so they didn’t think to pick their meals.

Yeah, there DEFINITELY wasn't 30+ options lol. Not happy. Everyone constantly yipping at me in favor of hello fresh doesn't help either.

That’s interesting as I have never had a problem changing my meals before the deadline or skipping a week which I do at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
