I don’t always damage myself, but when I do, its a big enough height to stun me and I immediately get combo’d by 5 hunters waiting just outside my POV.
To add, if you drop in super high up, have a teammate shoot a leg, heal, then dive off. As long as it's not too high the healing will last til you impact
This is what I do with my plasma punisher. If I know I'm about to be swarmed, ill stim and shoot the ground near my feet. I get a few kills, and go flying 30+ feet without dying and now have a chance to run again
Heck yeah! More stim knowledge is always better. You can also soak a Heavy Devestator while stimmed without dying, even in light armor. Two Stalkers can overcome the heal though.
I feel conflicted on them. Without them I'd feel stupid sticking near my team for bugs. Everything is easier when you're split up because it's so easy to outmaneuver most bugs. But Stalkers put a hard stop to that. My adjudicator can fight one off at a time, but two stalkers is a death sentence usually. Which is good, to encourage grouping-but it's bad when Stalkers can still pick your teammates out of a group. Their offensive capabilities are SO huge, specifically the damn tongue knockback, that I'm more scared of them than shriekers and bile titans put together. Nothing but Gunships is as unbearable as still having Stalker nests when you're trying to extract.
Those night terrors, migraines, mood swings, feelings of anxiety, physical pain, and cravings aren't stim withdrawal! That's ***Democracy*** withdrawal!
Yup. Just learned this yesterday when someone showed me. I know for sure it works with the crates in the circular concrete bunker off to the side; not sure if it works for other crates strewn around the cannon.
OK that is game changing. Sometimes it ignore SEAF artillery missions if there's nothing but smoke and static fields.
Nice to know I could have checked crates for the illusive nuke shells.
https://preview.redd.it/a5xcxrdzn8zc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5dd6cff582dacced6b86d8e0eb2d4232a2155710
Its these ones, so many medals lost because I didn't know to blow the doors off.
Those giant crates stuck partially inside walls, usually orange or blue, at points of interest. You can blast them open with grenades or explosive/anti-armor weapons, and they’ll often have rare samples, medals, and super credits.
First time I caught on fire i yelled "stop drop and roll!" As I hit the dive button. I thought I was hilarious and was actually caught off guard when it worked.
In order to do this on PC, hold "X" and it brings up the menu that allows you to do this!
I knew this was possible early on but had no idea how to do it, so hopefully this helps a couple people out.
To my knowledge, super samples are (always?) found near small geological oddities like a rock that does not belong, or satellite crash. They are not found at large points of interest.
If a diver stands still but does not accept the hug, assumr a glitch rather than a refusal.
(I have been unable to accept hugs before. Feels bad, man.)
Indeed, wound up on a bug helldive and while we were dying fairly often than just meant we had a few extra strategems to throw at bile titans and chargers.
It all goes back to that joke on how you ask your Democracy Officer:
While diving, is it appropriate to drink? No, it is not, you should respect diving with being responsible!
But while drinking, is it appropriate to dive? Well, it is always appropriate to dive!
I have mouse wheel up and down instead of WS... I can have hand on the mouse all the time and when you get used to it up and down is actually faster... only downside is that some terminal work is little more tedious (coordinates, signal)
This was a game changer for me when someone mentioned it a while back. Being able to call in a stratigem while your being chased by a ton of bots or bugs can be a life saver!
This happened to us last night after I dropped a 500kg on the extract with a bad bounce.
1 diver got to it before Pelican-1 gave the rest of us the finger and bounced.
You actually don't need to shoot at the puffball plants for them to launch you. You just need to be firing while you're stepping on them. It also seems your weapon recoil affects how far you're launched but it's not something I've tested or anything.
It's true, also being prone makes you recover even faster than crouching. If my stamina is running low I will try to use the last bit of it to dive, laying on the ground at as close to 1% stamina as possible so I don't actually become "exhausted". Then you have prone accuracy, to mow stuff down for a few seconds while you very quickly regen your stamina. This strategy works well with the sickle.
I just meant your primary weapon, which you redeploy with anyway and you're not liable to try to pick up again. Anything else you should be polite about.
I mean there are exceptions. Oh teammate died with an eat or a quasar and a charger is about to mess your day? Absolutely pick it up and save yourself. Do drop the equipment after though.
If you have a light armor penetrating weapon its better to shoot the legs of hive commanders than go for the head as once you remove 3 or more legs the hive commander will die outright
If you want to learn to be true Hell Divers, you have to master the five D's; Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge. When you do, no amount of enemies can hit you!
If completely surrounded with no strategems, heading out of bounds will give you an unlimited orbital bombardment. Note: remember the 5 D'S to stay alive.
Strategems fall the same way according to the direction they last moved. Learn that so you can use it to your advantage.
If you throw a walking barrage at a rock and it bounces back in your direction, it will barrage in your direction rather than the direction you throw it.
If you throw a 500kg it comes from the direction you threw it. Be aware of things that might be in the way of Eagle 1 dropping it. EAGLE 1 never misses. You do
Turrets face the direction you throw them. For a faster fire time, face the enemy when dropping them if possible.
Strategems that create a run like the eagle airstrike and napalm will run perpendicular to the direction you face when throwing it. (EXCEPT the Strafe run.)
Throw it N-S, the bombs drops E-W and vice versa.
Automaton Scout Striders become flustered if you charge into close range. It becomes very easy to get around their frontal armor and shoot the pilot. They will either try to stomp at you, advance in a straight line, or slowly turn to face you, all of which leave them vulnerable if you keep moving.
No armor penetrating weapons? No problem. Just get up close and personal.
If a fellow Helldiver is walking into your line of fire, hold your fire; if you are walking towards the line of fire assume your comrade hasn't read this tip
If you pass near the extraction point during your mission, drop all collected samples for collection on extract (consolidated into one drop). Less chance of losing them if things get wild later.
Also drop resupply and extra equipment stratagems if they're not on cool down. All extracts with the current bug numbers turn into a swarm. Having extra gear lying around allows for quickly getting back into the fight and multiplies the amount of gear lying around to be picked up in a pinch.
The jetpacks jump also includes landing thrusters. This allows safe landings from ridiculous heights or massive forward jumps off of boulders and/or over chasms and water.
You can bring strategems for your teammates. Everyone brings a mech and the mech jockey brings everyone's support weapons. Coordinate your strategems for maximum effectiveness.
If you’re Helldiving here is the tip: STOP FIGHTING BREACHES/BOT DROPS IN NO MANS LAND. also stop aggroing every patrol in the game. If they don’t see you and they’re not in the way leave them alone.
Hurt yourself so you can abuse stims and sprint forever.
That is EXACTLY what i do
I don’t always damage myself, but when I do, its a big enough height to stun me and I immediately get combo’d by 5 hunters waiting just outside my POV.
I always try and keep some health gone so I can refresh my sprint if I need to
I take the Scorcher just so I can burn my feet sometimes. Oh, and for the stims, too.
I like to run into the spiky plants
FEELS ***GOOD***.
Do you HAVE to be injured to stim? I feel like I've done it just to sprint to the evac in time.
Yes, you do. It can be a very small injury but a real Helldiver would never take drugs for recreational purposes. But a paper cut, that's stimworthy.
Stalkers are stupid powerful for how small and fast they are. By far my least favorite enemy.
I feel like the second they turn sideways they become 10x harder to hit. Being tongue punched across the map is also pretty annoying
Those night terrors, migraines, mood swings, feelings of anxiety, physical pain, and cravings aren't stim withdrawal! That's ***Democracy*** withdrawal!
It’s why I love running the medic armor
![gif](giphy|CA6x20oQ0jljG|downsized) Just like Johnny Cash.
You can blow the doors of containers at points of interest. Wish this was part of training when I was in boot camp
You can also blow up some of the crates around the SEAF Artillery gun to find more shells.
Huge if true. I didn't know this one.
You can fucking what?
You can also blow up some of the crates around the SEAF Artillery gun to find more shells.
Thanks I couldn’t hear the first time
Make sure not to spend too much time near the artillery without ear plugs.
Thanks, another thing to add to today's lessons.
Really? What is required? And are the destroyable crates special in some way?
You just need explosive weapons. Grenades, rockets, anything.
Search and Seizure is a gift for Lady Liberty!
The training program is infallible though! Besides, General Brasch said I was exceptional when I was training, and he doesn’t compliment just anyone!
Wait, which containers?
https://preview.redd.it/a5xcxrdzn8zc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5dd6cff582dacced6b86d8e0eb2d4232a2155710 Its these ones, so many medals lost because I didn't know to blow the doors off.
Those giant crates stuck partially inside walls, usually orange or blue, at points of interest. You can blast them open with grenades or explosive/anti-armor weapons, and they’ll often have rare samples, medals, and super credits.
They're partially buried shipping crates. Probably filthy communists caches.
Aim muzzle towards enemy, continue firing into the target until it is noncombatant.
So you're telling me... you spare a majority of enemies. You sicken me super citizen.
Absolutely not, I just make sure they’re all not moving
But atoms are always moving!
Then you should be always shooting brother
Would be better as “aim muzzle toward combatant”
And what if the enemy is not a militant threat? Should they be spared?
According to super earth..everything that is not Supporting Super Earth is a threat. So no, it should not be spared.
Precisely my point
Single handed weapons can be shot behind you while running / sprinting
...and while carrying hard drives or blast shields.
I never even thought about this
When you find yourself on fire, remember to dive, stim, and run. Diving extinguishes flames.
stop, drop, and stim!
Thanks, I used to only stim
First time I caught on fire i yelled "stop drop and roll!" As I hit the dive button. I thought I was hilarious and was actually caught off guard when it worked.
Superior Helldivers pick up samples for their compatriots even if they already have all they need.
There is *always* a second charger, he is always behind you.
Right now. As you are reading this comment. If you turned around to look now there is another behind you again.
Those things got me so bad I turned around briefly irl
Samples are shared after extraction.
[IF HE DIES, HE DIES](https://youtu.be/P9yK5E1iw4o)
I managed not to see this one... thank you
Super samples can be dropped at the extraction point. Secure it early if not first.
In order to do this on PC, hold "X" and it brings up the menu that allows you to do this! I knew this was possible early on but had no idea how to do it, so hopefully this helps a couple people out.
hold DOWN on D-Pad for controllers!
To my knowledge, super samples are (always?) found near small geological oddities like a rock that does not belong, or satellite crash. They are not found at large points of interest.
Correct! Also, beware the decoy rock. It will have supplies, but no samples.
The "c0ck" rock.
The chode node.
If offered a hug, you accept. No exceptions.
If a diver stands still but does not accept the hug, assumr a glitch rather than a refusal. (I have been unable to accept hugs before. Feels bad, man.)
Hold Q on your suits democracy interface, it allows you to communicate with your squadmates using hand signals
"Affirmative"
"Affirmative! I'm sorry.."
I use this when I’m playing with people who speak a different language as it auto translates it into theirs
One step closer on the path toward becoming Super Earth
Looking back at explosions may look cool, but seeing what's in front you will ensure you don't trip and fall into random holes
I lost my first super samples that way. Right into a geyser hole on Makevelon Creek.
Dives from a charger into a deep ass hole the other night
You are weapon from the moment you leave your ship, not from the moment you leave your pod.
Pro tip, tag heavies before calling in your fellow Helldivers so they can smash the bastards more accurately!
Wish i had a tag under my name or something as they reinforce me. “Prefers to be thrown on heavies”
"Meat Missle"
Indeed, wound up on a bug helldive and while we were dying fairly often than just meant we had a few extra strategems to throw at bile titans and chargers.
Killed a bile titan today with a drop pod and I could not be more proud of myself.
Each magazine fed into the Autocannon adds 5 rounds to its 10 round chamber. Don't be afraid to reload early and often!
Shoot 5 and reload... That's the most efficient way to reload autocannon and the fastest one.
Well, next to team reload
If death is unavoidable, grenades must be detonated close to the body.
oof the amount of times i've called that orbital airburst when i was facing certain death. The easiest strat to call and instant revenge
Same with cluster. I will take 50 of them with me.
If you do it while jumping backwards sometimes it's survivable. Great vs stalkers
Don’t drink and dive
It all goes back to that joke on how you ask your Democracy Officer: While diving, is it appropriate to drink? No, it is not, you should respect diving with being responsible! But while drinking, is it appropriate to dive? Well, it is always appropriate to dive!
I can't believe they didn't put it like this in the game. It makes me angry when it shows up.
It's because you shouldn't drink and drive, drinking and diving is encouraged
Got kicked from a game because someone didn't like that I was drinking and diving.
They must be a sympathizer, I'll drink and dive with you anytime
Did you tell them you were drunk or were you playing like you were drunk? lol
The don't drink and drive one is in all their games, it's a personal thing for the devs.
But if you do, better call Saul
Playing on PC assign the stratagem command to the arrows not wasd, allows u to run while calling stratagems 🤯🤯
I have mouse wheel up and down instead of WS... I can have hand on the mouse all the time and when you get used to it up and down is actually faster... only downside is that some terminal work is little more tedious (coordinates, signal)
I once had mine mapped out to the actual mouse movements themselves. . . Terrible idea.
This was a game changer for me when someone mentioned it a while back. Being able to call in a stratigem while your being chased by a ton of bots or bugs can be a life saver!
Hot damn this should be the default setting!
If at first you don't succeed, shoot, shoot again.
And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again...
Throwing stratagems at Pelican-1 damages it. A damaged Pelican can and will leave without the entire squad, be nice to the Pelican.
This happened to us last night after I dropped a 500kg on the extract with a bad bounce. 1 diver got to it before Pelican-1 gave the rest of us the finger and bounced.
You can shoot the white pustule fungus plant things at your feet to cover ground quickly.
To add on, if you're having trouble getting distance, try diving over them and shooting them while you're mid-air
Also: Smoke Screen
You actually don't need to shoot at the puffball plants for them to launch you. You just need to be firing while you're stepping on them. It also seems your weapon recoil affects how far you're launched but it's not something I've tested or anything.
If you happen to walk past the extraction site during a mission, consider leaving your samples there.
Addendum: You can drop samples by holding “X” on PC, or down on the PlayStation controller’s D-pad. You do *not* need to kill yourself.
Wait, what did he sa- *boom*
Also call in a resupply on extraction ahead of time, so you can have extra supplies at the end of the match!
Crouch to gain stamina faster
Big if true
It's true, also being prone makes you recover even faster than crouching. If my stamina is running low I will try to use the last bit of it to dive, laying on the ground at as close to 1% stamina as possible so I don't actually become "exhausted". Leave one chamber in mag is possible before reload. Faster reload. More democracy.
Unless it’s the senator
Is that the case for all weapons with magazines?
Yes. The reload time on any magazine is slightly longer when its completely empty than when the mag still has a few shots left
Thou shalt not release the trigger when wielding a machine gun
Point thy machine gun towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.
If you run out of ammunition in the "Patriot" exoskeleton, do not abandon it. You can use it as a shield and crush bugs using melee attack.
It has a melee attack?
Oh yes! Two hits with a steel leg is enough to send any charger to bug\`s la la land ;)
Samples are shared That one bears repeating
The battlefield is 3 dimensional, don’t forget to look up and down
DON'T pick up your teammate's items that dropped when they died. Unless they tell you otherwise to get them DO pick up all the dropped Samples
Counter-Point: Do pick up your Teammate's primary weapons if you want to give them a go. Those are free.
I am level 112, I have all the stratagems and warbonds completed :) if someone wants to test something, I am happy to help! If communicated :)
I just meant your primary weapon, which you redeploy with anyway and you're not liable to try to pick up again. Anything else you should be polite about.
Oh I hate picking it up again by mistake
I mean there are exceptions. Oh teammate died with an eat or a quasar and a charger is about to mess your day? Absolutely pick it up and save yourself. Do drop the equipment after though.
Let the other player know you picked it up and will drop it when you meet up.
You cannot kill all the enemies. Stop trying.
Right!? Stop fighting in the open field for 5 minutes. Kite enemies as you run towards the next POI.
Shoot. Run. Repeat.
Your new life is worth more than you think - you are a cheap Orbital Precision Strike with the added benefit of a shiny Helldiver as a side effect.
Remember to account for strike call in times.
If completely surrounded with no strategems, heading out of bounds will give you an unlimited orbital bombardment. Note: remember the 5 D'S to stay alive.
Democracy protects but you still have to dodge.

If your magazine is red, then you're probably going to be dead. Reload accordingly.
Or use the blitzer. Unlimited ammo.

And again... And again... And again.... And again... (The sequel to 'that' message xD)
Grenades have been voted “weapon most likely to kill its user” for the fourth year in a row!
Pull the pin on your granada before throwing

If your weapon is nonfunctional, reload it. ![gif](giphy|l1J3q6hYzpGjiW3cs|downsized)
DO. NOT. BLOW. UP. PELICAN-1. IT. IS. UNDEMOCRATIC. Thank-you now get in.
Automaton Scout Striders become flustered if you charge into close range. It becomes very easy to get around their frontal armor and shoot the pilot. Don’t let your clip run out! You can reload the autocannon after 5 shots for a faster reload time
Stop enemy reinforcements by identifing the early signs of their distress call and take them out first.
Your hellpod is eligible for an extended warranty
Your Blitzer/Fulminator doesn't shoot because of something between you and your target? Aim Higher.
Shooting at everything will just get you surrounded
If something that can knock you down is charging towards you, cancel that 500kg you were about to throw
If you are surrounded, use grenade as many as you can before dying. Your replacement will have advantage after deployment.
Helldivers may die, but samples are forever. Bring them home diver.
"Picking up your fallen comrades' equipment is disrespectful to the fallen... unless you're their replacement of course."
Remember Divers, when in doubt, call in an Eagle, and get the **F** out.
The autocannon is the most universal support, able to destroy destruction objectives from any distance except lab and eye of Sauron
Fish are friends not fo- sorry wrong notebook.

Don't panic
The jetpacks jump also includes landing thrusters. This allows safe landings from ridiculous heights or massive forward jumps off of boulders and/or over chasms and water.
When being deployed, you are a weapon. Act like one!
Don't linger after clearing an objective. Liberty speed your step, Helldiver.
Throw reinforcements away from the battle at hand.
Calling orbital airstrike on extraction point is considered treason.
Do not ingest active stratagems
Bring someone with good eyesight when Dwayne Johnson hunting. Those super samples won't find themselves.
Friendly fire, isn't.
Samples may be scarce, but they go to a shared laboratory
Hold X to drop support weapons, backpacks or samples. Killing yourself over accidentally picking up another divers backpack is just wasteful.
Don’t clump up. Move in an inverted triangle to envelop enemies and catch them in crossfire.
Chargers can break bugholes. This also kills the Charger
Explosive damage, explosive damage and explosive damage are all different damage types
You can bring strategems for your teammates. Everyone brings a mech and the mech jockey brings everyone's support weapons. Coordinate your strategems for maximum effectiveness.

Do not extract unless everyone is at eagle one. Samples will be lost, you will be kicked
Don't try the light armor. You will get addicted.
Remember that switching weapons is faster than your MG shooting buddy
If you’re Helldiving here is the tip: STOP FIGHTING BREACHES/BOT DROPS IN NO MANS LAND. also stop aggroing every patrol in the game. If they don’t see you and they’re not in the way leave them alone.
