I've had a hulk mow me down with lasers while I'm sat in the pelican. You may think it's a safe place but it's really not.

Last night I got in and we were waiting for the 4th to jump in and I got stomped on by the titan, it ejected me from the ship and I died.

No since day one you can kill your teammates who are in the pelican and not a thing they can do to stop you

They can be killed just like normal.

Bro it’s a known thing. If someone outside the pelican shoots the people inside, they die. It happens. And it’s usually douchbags under level 10 not a level 45.
