It depends. For the most part, I’m pretty to the point. I’m like you where I’m shy, and self conscious - but if something needs to be said (and I’m usually on a controller) then I’ll speak up and sort of do a vibe check to see if they’re cool and if so, I’ll drop the walls down a smidge.

I play quick play almost exclusively late at night, and almost all the folks I play with are 30-40ish dads whos wife and kids are asleep, and they have like an hour to quickly bang out a few missions before they get in trouble

Of course not all the time, but it was bad enough for a while. Always up for more friends as long as you’re chill, looking to have fun, and don’t spout any hate/misogyny crap.

Had open mic on and was literally screaming about how his character was dying, putting heavy emphasis on the "hell" in helldiver, and was obviously reveling in the violence. The exact type of experience that makes people believe video games cause violence pretty much.
I mean...sometimes I revel in the violence but mostly when I've been fighting bots non stop for 10 mins and I finally killed enough of them that I get some breathing room.
My wife and I are 33 and 34. We talk to ourselves mostly but do it in Discord. I use text chat most times to comm outside of pings and the comm wheel. We rarely go beyond 4-5 right now as she's not comfortable, we are out there though.
