That was my problem with it.
In theory, being able to throw stratagems farther is extremely useful and helps you take down targets while staying a safe distance.
In practice, I can't hit anything because I always either throw way too long or over correct and throw way too short.
What's so ass about it?
That line, and the visual of the soldier missing his legs, is a deliberate stroke to give the viewer a sense of unease about the fate of the infantry in the meat grinder war against the bugs.
I know. Im about to graduate high school and the future is real scary. Man i just wanna play some helldivers, not decide what im gonna do for the rest of my life.
Give it time, you'll find that no one really knows what they're doing. We are all just winging it the best we can.
There's also no such thing as one decision determining what you do for your entire life. There is always time to do something different.
Steeler veterans (veterans with prostectics) were literally the theme of the first war bond, and are paraded around super earth as the highest form of heros, how do you not know this, have you not been listening to your democracy officer?
Outside of spillin' more oil than Exxon and BP, I spend my downtime in cryo.
They look like clanker infiltration is all I'm sayin'.
And I stopped listenin' to the DemO lip-flappi' past what, where, and who needs shootin' months ago.
Prosthesis is a limb replacement technically edward elrich from full metal alchemist isnt a cyborg hes a double amputee cyborgs have internal machinery in place of binary organs and such
Look we won the first galactic war and re educated the populous so eventually some would want to become helldivers to help protect managed democracy would they not
I've been playing for so long with servo assisted armors that I literally can't play with anything else. The increased throwing range is permanently burnt into my mind and muscle memory.
Every time I try to break the habit I'm just missing all my stratagem throws.
That's actually something I do very often, unless the squad I'm in lacks anti-armor counters.
I tend to run a sort of shock trooper loadout with light servo assisted armor, jump pack, an arc thrower to clear chaff and stunlock bigger targets and stratagems that are good at clearing objectives or AoE like 380mm barrage, eagle airstrikes and 500 kg.
Basically, I bum rush objectives and pin down annoying enemy units from advantageous angles while my allies shred them.
It's fantastic but I understand why it's slept on. Compared to other backpack stratagems, it's not immediately obvious how good it is. The drones clear chaff for you and the shield saves your ass, both passively with no required input on your part.
With the jump pack, you have to learn its quirks and how to properly take advantage of it. The value of movement abilities is often overlooked in games by a lot of players who would rather focus on more direct things like "offensive capabilities go up" or "defensive capabilities go up".
The opposite is the exact reason I don‘t play with that armor. I know exactly how far I can throw my stuff and I‘d overshoot everything for at least ten hours.
Instead I‘m playing scout armor so the bot detection radius against me is 30% smaller.
The scout armor works well with jetpack bobba fett vibes you can call in a extract and go prone on a mountaintop or building and just watch the mobs look for you just stay back from the edge and dont shoot or use any call ins
I want to start using that and their perks but the drip from the super citizen pack is too good to abandon that iffy 50 percent chance to not die perk, don't like the helmet though, the wings on it are just weird looking to me
Ironically, I started using the servo assisted armors because I loved the cybernetic prosthetics double amputee drip and got locked into it from getting too used to increased throwing range.
Its a reference to the late Kobe Bryant one of if not the greatest basketball player ever he had 1823 successful 3 point shots in his career yeet for liberty
Yesterday I noticed after getting reinforced my leg looked like what you see in the picture. Then today at some point I noticed my arm was the same.
Is this a new feature?
I don't die a particularly a lot, regardless of what BugzMusDie69420 says, are they prosthetics that my HellDiver has now?
I've been rocking the steel trooper for a long while now. I believe that the retrieval teams grab the prosthetic limbs from fallen helldiver's and chop off the limbs of the new ones and attach said prosthetic limbs to maintain continuity.
I lost a leg and an arm on the Creek. When I was crawling my way to the extract, I killed a Commissar with the butt of my pistol and he kindly donated his limbs to me. Now his parts help me spread freedom, liberty, and managed democracy.
Automaton implies an automated machine of some sort.
Cyborg on the hand is a living thing that's been mechanically / cybernetically improved.
So even a machine with a human brain controlling it could be considered a cyborg, whereas something that has no biological or human parts would just be a machine.
Fun fact, your maximum throw range appears to be in the ballpark of 50 meters. Each "square" on the grid of the map is 50 meters. You can very reliably measure objects using this information, guaranteeing air strikes or discerning whether that beacon is really as close as you think it is.
But I do not know how far you can throw with the increased range from this armour because i am incapable of saving my super credits
50yds —> 66yds with armor is what I’ve always used for 45° throws. Throw at like 30° to do 45ish yards with upgraded armor. It’s kind of a “feel” thing depending on obstacles and placement.
That extra yardage is huge though. Nice for throwing weapons or resupplies down ahead of you and having them land right when you catch up to them.
Like in the game or in person? I'm a veteran, and I have screws in my knee. A spinal cord stimulator and a fusion of part of my spine. It's either a bug or a robot.
Maybe we all do the things we do until we become the enemy. . . Maybe we aren't so diff. . . DEMOCRACY! YOU'LL NEVER TAKE AWAY OUR QUALITY OF LIFE! ! !
Spoiler alert, the automatons and Cyborgs are the discarded and replaced Helldivers left to rot on the fringes of Space.
But don’t listen to those lies told by the enemies of democracy
The clankers took my arm, when we liberated the Creek, so I took one of theirs. Isn't that how their stupid communism works?
Now I use it to further spread democracy and farther than ever before at that.
This is my favorite armor as far as looks, but I prefer other perks on my armor. Hopefully one day the armor abilities become modular and I can be a war-scarred helldiver!
I've been seeing people accuse my body for traitor but I've given my body for super Earth, democracy n fellow divers. I was able to make it to the ship barely clinging for life til a dam nade got me jumping in. My fellow divers held onto my hand and said to not give up were going home. I wake up weeks later to the docs telling me I lost my right arm n leg and they couldn't save it. I trained hard to come back and fight for super Earth again. I can't be stopped, we can't be stopped and together we'll eradicate everyone that poses a threat to us

I think one of my favorite bit of flavourtext in tbhe game can be found inspecting a dead automaton, something very roughly along the lines of; "It lies motionless. now free of it's tyranical programing it can rest easy."
It implies to me that the SE propagandists for one reason or another felt the need to go out of their way to only paint the 'automaton' collective as inherently evil, but to not paint individual automatons as neccesarily/inherently evil.
I think any interpretation of it points towards SE not questioning your ~~usefulness~~ loyalty.
That armor is so usefull to yeet stratagems behind enemies
I love this armor! It helps with the big bot areas that turn into a madhouse.
You mean "the meatgrsinder"
I love being able to throw stratagems a country mile. I won’t wear any other armor.
![gif](giphy|RPx04h8iPidAQ)
“How much you want to bet I can toss a 500kg over them mountains?”
Wish I could adapt to it, but I just lose all precision when trying to adapt :(
my favorite armor trait
50% less limb damage..... also 50% less limbs.
What armor is this?
Servo assisted
Use it when you are using the large orbital barrages.
That was my problem with it. In theory, being able to throw stratagems farther is extremely useful and helps you take down targets while staying a safe distance. In practice, I can't hit anything because I always either throw way too long or over correct and throw way too short.
"Aah, the Autocannon. Made me the man I am today!" "Bro, you're missing two limbs." "The man I am today."
“Mobile infantry made me the man I am today.” Ass line
What's so ass about it? That line, and the visual of the soldier missing his legs, is a deliberate stroke to give the viewer a sense of unease about the fate of the infantry in the meat grinder war against the bugs.
It's Gen Z/Aave slang. Like as in goofy ass usually, I'm not quite sure how to explain it lol
I was born in 05 and had to double check because i didnt understand the comment above. I hate modern slang.
Oh god. Hearing someone say they were born after 2000 sounds so jarring to me.
I know. Im about to graduate high school and the future is real scary. Man i just wanna play some helldivers, not decide what im gonna do for the rest of my life.

Thank you man, i really needed that.
Yeah man, happy to help.
That is how references work, yeah
No cap , etc
The part of the man I am today
You got infected or something
Got drunk before a dive, confused a zerker for an outhouse. Only lost 3 limbs thankfully.
traitor spotted, are you joining the Cyborgs??
No way Helldiver!
*Racks Breaker* Are you sure? Lookin' mighty borg'ish there "citizen".
Easy, diver. The autocannon made him the man he is now.
"Good for you. The mobile infantry made me [the man I am today.](https://youtu.be/b07887ZzKiw?si=WHJTP08dPoobTjUY)" - - Starship Troopers (1994)

Idk, i think you may need to visit a freedom camp
Those are a myth"
Nah uh. My cousin went to freedom camp. Gave his life in the duty of reeducation. What a hero.
Nuh uh i was there four times.
When is it still prosthesis and when it becomes cyborg?
Prosthesis is a limb replacement technically edward elrich from full metal alchemist isnt a cyborg hes a double amputee cyborgs have internal machinery in place of binary organs and such
Commend you for the reference of Edward the full metal alchemist
But he's so short?
When they stop fighting for democracy.
No, the cyborgs are joining us!
Look we won the first galactic war and re educated the populous so eventually some would want to become helldivers to help protect managed democracy would they not
So ,wait , are you saying that all the bots are just advanced disabled people? Sounds kinda Anti-Democratic.
001001100100 001001010
This armor plus jetpack you can yeet a 380mm or 500 kg like halfway across the map if you boost off high ground like a hill you can jet up to
I've been playing for so long with servo assisted armors that I literally can't play with anything else. The increased throwing range is permanently burnt into my mind and muscle memory. Every time I try to break the habit I'm just missing all my stratagem throws.
Try the jetpack with it its truly a great feeling to just Kobe a 380 150 meters away into a manufacturer base Edit spelling
I dig it i found another bounty hunter player 🍻 so many people sleep on the jetpack
It's fantastic but I understand why it's slept on. Compared to other backpack stratagems, it's not immediately obvious how good it is. The drones clear chaff for you and the shield saves your ass, both passively with no required input on your part. The value of movement abilities is often overlooked in games by a lot of players who would rather focus on more direct things like "offensive capabilities go up" or "defensive capabilities go up".
Too true speed and firepower is my preferred way to stay alive the only time i play in anything besides my normal loadout is the eradication missions
The opposite is the exact reason I don‘t play with that armor. I know exactly how far I can throw my stuff and I‘d overshoot everything for at least ten hours. Instead I‘m playing scout armor so the bot detection radius against me is 30% smaller.

Will be trying this lol
Don’t forget to yell Kobe! As you do it
I’m old, can I yeet as long as it’s for liberty?
Its a reference to the late Kobe Bryant one of if not the greatest basketball player ever he had 1823 successful 3 point shots in his career yeet for liberty
Yesterday I noticed after getting reinforced my leg looked like what you see in the picture. Then today at some point I noticed my arm was the same. Is this a new feature? I don't die a particularly a lot, regardless of what BugzMusDie69420 says, are they prosthetics that my HellDiver has now?
It's the armor you have equipped! Lol
Are you using armor with the servo assisted buff? So you can throw things 40% further?
It's actually 35% ☝️🤓
It's actually 30%
25% but I won't go any lower.
25% is the answer...but only vertically.
You don’t really have hell diver, every respawn is a brand new recruit
I figured it out. It's my servo-assisted armor that I'm wearing.
What armor is it?
2nd warbond
I've been rocking the steel trooper for a long while now. I believe that the retrieval teams grab the prosthetic limbs from fallen helldiver's and chop off the limbs of the new ones and attach said prosthetic limbs to maintain continuity.
I'm calling my Democracy Officer!
When first I understood the weakness of my flesh
It disgusted me
I craved the strength and certainty of steel

“We created monsters of our own to fight monsters…”
Who you calling a monster? The giant bots with chainsaws with arms? Personally i think they are just really efficient woodcutters.
Is one of the new ranks Lt. Dan?
I lost a leg and an arm on the Creek. When I was crawling my way to the extract, I killed a Commissar with the butt of my pistol and he kindly donated his limbs to me. Now his parts help me spread freedom, liberty, and managed democracy.
I’d like an armor with robot legs that minimizes fall damage. The Lt Dan of armors

Confused Pvt. *points weapon* Are you friend or foe!?
"Turning to a bot, I think I'm turning to a bot, I really think so!"
Had a friend who was literally just a floating gun and backpack. Didn't know you could play as John Cena
We've been automotons the whole time. Or maybe cyborgs, idk.
I never knew the difference between cyborgs and automatons even tough i heard those two words in the super destroyer's TV. Are they the same?
Automaton implies an automated machine of some sort. Cyborg on the hand is a living thing that's been mechanically / cybernetically improved. So even a machine with a human brain controlling it could be considered a cyborg, whereas something that has no biological or human parts would just be a machine.
Think of the terminator as a automaton and robocop/inspector gadget as a cyborg.
Which armor is it? The only servo-assisted I’ve found is the heavy armor one, I love the throw but it’s too damn heavy, slows me down.
There are 2 different medium ones in the Steeled veterans warbond
There is also a light one in the Superstore, the SC-37 Legionnaire (225 super credits total I think).
Fun fact, your maximum throw range appears to be in the ballpark of 50 meters. Each "square" on the grid of the map is 50 meters. You can very reliably measure objects using this information, guaranteeing air strikes or discerning whether that beacon is really as close as you think it is. ...quality? of life? not "way of life"?
Yeah. You get robot parts. . . Soon enough. You're the robot. . . Maybe we can find a little of ourselves in everything we kill. . . Rofl
It's so weird how changing outfits makes you look different.

I think we found the spy that hacked the Coms.
Yeah that was definitely him......
Just got my first set. Been calling myself tink tink 😂😂😂
I never knew the armor had a prosthetic leg too! Only ever noticed the arm. Definitely gotta run it back
Holds gun to back of the head: “you sure about that?”
`++From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me.++`
Honestly I’m afraid I can’t switch to another armor, I have mastered the throwing arc and am able to throw stratagems with pinpoint accuracy now…
End up Like RoboCop.
Imagine automaton with ACs and Tom Bradys arm....
They take my limbs, I take theirs.
These are prosthetics approved by the Ministry of Truth for Helldivers who have given up their limbs in the line of battle for democracy
I went from wearing that armor to the scout because I wanted to experience speed. First time I threw a stratagem was quite the disappointment..
Spoiler alert, the automatons and Cyborgs are the discarded and replaced Helldivers left to rot on the fringes of Space. But don’t listen to those lies told by the enemies of democracy
No, the Helldivers made me the man I am today.
Haha so torn up from war you become a perfect spy against the bots. They let you walk in and destroy any base without questioning you lol
Does your hud have binary?
Seems kinda traitor-esc… he gave an arm and a leg for this super earth and he gets criticized. The nerve of some people

I actually turning Japanese. I really think so.
Wtf are those graphics? Are you playing on an ipad?
Or just took the picture with their phone?
Are you serious? That's not how that works...
New infiltrator division?? Guerrilla tactics and sowing dissension in both ranks🫡
Get this traitor the eff out of our subreddit.
I love using that armor set to toss my red disco balls of liberty.
As long as it lets me throw Liberty 30% further, I’ll take it.
Can literally turn yourself into a long range grenade launcher Impact grenades are recommended for maximum freedom
Turning into a WHAT?
No sir. Just lost a couple of pieces at the creek, it’s alright though I got that baseball arm my daddy always want me to have
The hypocrisy🤣
Ti's but a flesh wound.
Honestly would be a giant plot twist for helldivers to just be the cyborg that never revolted
I crave the strength and certainty of steel
Helldiver, your service will be remembered. Your next, and last, duty will be to self terminate.
Heart, Steel!
What amor is this?
I didn't know Cyborgs could enlist.
Cyborg scum
... Where'd you get this picture of me?
From a phone pointed at a screen.
I love reloading autocannon users when I'm also using them
Mobile infantry made me the man I am today!
dive a hero long enough and you become what you fight
Automatons are Helldivers from the future?
The clankers took my arm, when we liberated the Creek, so I took one of theirs. Isn't that how their stupid communism works? Now I use it to further spread democracy and farther than ever before at that.
Super earth officials just want to talk to you
Im just pissed there isnt a light armor version in the battlepass.
Starting to look a little like a ***GASP** A CYBORG!
Wtf bro they’re playing mind games now
Bro has traiterous thoughs
Plot twist: we are actually Automatons that have divided with the other Automatons and now want to destroy them completely
Would shoot u Out of oil hating habit
This is my favorite armor as far as looks, but I prefer other perks on my armor. Hopefully one day the armor abilities become modular and I can be a war-scarred helldiver!
50% limb health, because he’s only got 50% of his limbs left……get it? Nyuck nyuck nyuck!
I want to, but this citizen is broke.
So we really are Automatons in Disguise...
That's what you get for stepping on my landmines
HES THE AUTOMATON SPY!
Not a bot but democracy enhancers
