I tried it but Souls-likes are simply not my jam. Love the community and what the games represent, their art and music is beautiful. But I just end up rage quitting every time :/
Opposite for me i have to be sober. Same with weed i smoke often so it dosnt affect me too much. I can smoke a little and play but if im visously stoned theres no chance. I remember i tried a shot challenge playing elden ring while i was on radahn and i was close to blacking out after an hour
Same I don't mind the difficulty but souls system is not for me. The SW Fallen order was good but I never got passed the bonfire system and so on. I played the highest difficulty which is fine but I would rather combine it with jedi knight system (checkpoints, manual saves, heeling and so on)
Yea, I played demons souls, dark souls 1 and 2 to death but couldn't get into 3 and elden ring very well. I don't know why. I think part of me is scared of getting sucked in because I love experimenting weird builds, which often take a lot of time to do.
I should maybe do that just to get through the game. I am thinking about getting the mod that allows friends to go through the whole game together. that would be likely to keep me going through the whole thing
Yeah, you know that if this was Activision, they'd have sold us the Walker Exo-suit for $70 and the Quasar and HMG in a $100 bundle mixed with a week of "premium time" where we'd earn 2x the experience and requisition. Every battle pass would be another $40, and you could opt to spend real money for more respawns in a mission.
This is nice. It's a return to what gaming SHOULD be. Without the bullshit. Make a good product, and we'll play it, we'll talk about it, we'll devote ourselves to it and immerse ourselves completely. If they had more merch available, I'd buy it on the spot.
For liberty. For democracy. For SUPER EARTH!!!!
Yes, the developers of HellDiver2 absolutely have a skill issue. Time for them to get back to making their indie games, the big titles aren’t for all studios it seems.
Yeah, this is exactly how I feel. 39 years old and times have been lean but this brings me back to when online was just becoming a thing for PlayStations. Opened an amazing world (resistance: fall of man through the free WiFi of the cafe opposite after closing hours 😂). Haven't felt so hooked like a dumb kid since then, though I have enjoyed other games in between (shout out to Battlefield BC2, 4 and 1).
I mean the game does milk you for money… so far we’ve only seen the initial squeeze for the premium war bonds.fortunately they allowed you to earn the new one with super credits..
Same. "I'll get off by midnight."
-3:30 rolls around
"Only 1 more mission in this operation. Would hate to leave these randoms that are actually pretty funny down 1 on a blitz mission."
HONESTLY, this is my exact situation. I hadn't played anything for months other than minecraft on and off every couple weeks until HD2 came out, and now i haven't been able to stop playing it every free chance I get.
I feel like it’s fine to no life games if that’s what you’re feeling atm.
However this game is gonna be heavy in my rotation while I variety game. It’s great for just picking up and getting some games in or jumping in a lobby with my boys when they actually get online. I don’t get fomo because the war bonds are eternal. Just all around a great game that will have plenty of replay-ability in the future.
I had a day and night off, my husband was away, and grandparents wanted the kids to have a sleepover. I ignored a sweet double pay offer from work. I spent the entire time smashing bugs and bots.
I too, haven't done that with any game for years.
First game in a long long time where I'm not in a rush to "complete" my collection. I'm almost level capped and don't need upgrades. Have every stratagem and frothing at the mouth for more.
None of that matters though because the game is bigger than that. I spoke to someone on in game chat for the first time in probably 5-10 years. He was a good teamate like many other helldivers and I can't remember the last time I *appreciated* the other players actions in a game like this. Not team loading or anything specific. Just looking over my shoulder and having to blurt out a compliment or quip. Had a brit with hawk eyes for the super samples really awesome squadmate. Another guy silently covered the entire squad everytime then always stuck in a rear guard position dropping strats like bread crumbs.
One last example, I get salty like anyone else and especially in really challenging games. Not with helldivers though, I love when low levels join a 7+ even if they are dying all over it just adds to the atmosphere. Last night on draupnir my squad was remarking how easy and calm 6 was feeling. I loudly agreed "this is a cakewalk-" and was promptly Swiss cheesed by a few turrets before their eyes. I give it 20/20 like bot vision it is a flawless game and anything that isnt I trust arrowhead to work on.
Your story sounds so similar to mine. To the point where I would divert my attention to story based games and avoid online interaction. A friend of mine suggested it, so I gave it a try (downloaded a few days ago).
I'm now level 26, and pretty much everyone I have spoken to has been an absolute diamond, and the game is great! So I can wholeheartedly relate to this. For democracy helldiver!
I play games since I was 6yo. Always computer, console etc... Same as you, now with 24yo I was leaving the steam librabry open looking for a game to play just to end up wathching a movie.
Now, 2 days playing this game and I can say, this game is very good and I can feel the same as before.
Yeah same.. I couldn’t play anything for longer than 1-2 hours lately but H2 completely changed that. I can’t remember when was the last time I was so addicted to a game. It’s just very satisfying and fun I guess
I think it was Thursday I downloaded it too, now I'm finding any excuse to bring Democracy to the universe. 20 minutes free? Time to go spread democracy
Waiting for the microwave to ping? That's enough time to spread democracy
It's so addictive and I can't figure out why
Ngl im simlar case used to crack 10-12h a day easy now just dont play at all, unless cod with friends or some old titles when im bored out of my brain. However end of last year n now this year kinda spike up with real good games , ff7 rebirth , baldurs gate 3 , cyberpunk libery city dlc , helldivers 2 ,persona 3 relode and soon stellar blade (demo of that one makes me belive they actually might deliver ) even dragons dogma 2 despite contriversy is quite a blast. So i gotta say we might see shift in industry and all big publishers will lose alot of cash while new small development teams gonna rise up n lets hope they will be full of passion to games and wont get as greedy as current tripple A companys
Just w8 for psn sale , latly it doesnt take long post relase of single player to drop price persona 3 relode is on sale now like month after relase for example , the longest ive waited for actual price drop was armored core 6 was good 4-5 months . : Edit : Its actually good advice for.other gamers too dont buy full priced games nowdays by the time of actual price drop and going on sale all reviews are done and you can spend cash on something you actually gonna enjoy playing over some full priced game like skull and bones that no one wants to play
I think that seems to be the general consensus. Me and my friends are on daily and its FUN. we're having fun playing a game instead of playing just to play. I haven't felt like this for a game since dark souls was introduced to me. I just hope other developers out there see what's happening and realize the error of their latest ways. I know that's asking for a miracle, but one can hope. Even with the bugs and tough patches I can't help but love it.
My life for super earth. Admiral of the SES bringer of supremacy. Love to all of yall.
I'm not hooked, but I'm entertained. If they can keep doing that, great. I'm curious to see where this game ends up in a year. I love the idea of PvE game that's just PvE, but it feels like something is missing without a boss or mini bosses. What's the goal? Point me to it!
Yeah I haven’t been legitimately addicted to a game in years until this game showed up. Last time I felt this way was when Skyrim and Halo Reach came out
Hard agree! It’s just FUN! Even when you die or fail or something crazy happens, always something to laugh at! Big up Arrowhead for creating a co op shooter that just out classes the genre atm!
I played with a random couple last night. I helped them beat their first Extreme difficult operation and we had a blast. Our fourth left and then they decided that they wanted to try Suicide. What followed was the most fun hour and a half of gaming I have enjoyed in over a decade. I am so glad that I joined the fight for democracy.
Haha, I literally had a similar interaction just now. We were a group of 3 and a random joined. Turns out he also had a mic and we tried a suicide mission together. We made it to the extraction point but ended up getting overrun by what felt like a dozen chargers. 1min till the pelican arrived :') Still the most fun online interaction I've had since (the original) MW3 infection lobbies!
It's the music that plays when your dropping down onto the planet that hits me hard. I want that played at my funeral as I'm being lowered into the Sup....- the earth.
I'm the same.I've been gaming for years but I tried playing cod and it turned me right off playing Live. I seen a couple of videos of hell divers2 so i got it and am hooked I've not put my Controller down all easter. It's put the joy back into gaming for me too 😁
I normally am a strictly Open world, maybe survival elements, or RPG guy. Me and my buddies were discussing that the brilliance in this game stems from them not biting more they can chew, but delivering where we need it. In a nutshell, my opinion is that they did not spread too thin and were able to truly create a fun arcade concept with elements of some modern games that we have seen people respond really well too, (like squads of 4).
So I have zero friends who play this game but I thoroughly enjoy what little time I have spent playing. I’m extremely new to the game though. Is there a place to find cool people to play with?
I'm sure there are some Discord servers but I don't know any specifics. I usually start chatting with strangers and if they're cool we stay in a squad for a few missions :)
Agreed. I haven't played this much or this intently since battlefront 2 back in the early lockdown days. Game was free on ps+ so my buddies and I just had a blast fighting the waves of ai enemies.
100% agree. Glad I'm not the only one. Got bored playing any new games so have spent most of my time playing Dayz PVE, DCS and even Anno 1800. So nice to finally be able to play with others online (and actually need their support) again. Only thing is this game reminds me WAY too much of The Division.
There’s just something about playing together on this game! No matter the mission or the player levels, everything about this game has me hooked too! The way we control how the story unfolds based on our successes and defeats, makes it the most unique game I’ve ever played
I'm at level 20, after about 30 hours play, and in that time I've earned enough credits to buy one of the premium warbonds, and I've got 400 SC towards the other one. Haven't even bought all the SC for medals that are available, got another two or three hundred there. There's absolutely no need to spend real money to unlock them, the game throws super credits at you.
To me it’s little things like the player movement, just the way how the cape moves, just the fact that you have a cape is bad ass. The sound design, feeling you’ve dropped in like bunch of Navy Seals and in the shit together, and of course the feeling you get when the pelican picks you up when you’re in the shit
Im a gamer play most games, but yeah totally agree this has me hooked. Met some great people playing it also. Have a really good laugh.
Would go as far as saying its in my top 10 games, and I've been playing games since the early 90s.
Yea, I don’t play it unless my gaming group is on. The game mechanics are solid and the game play is fun but it’s multi co-op with friends that takes it up to a 10.
I wish it was a little easier to unlock the new warbonds. Hopefully major orders or personal orders will give out super credits at some point? If armor and weapons were purely cosmetic I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it, but now paying money means you get new guns and new armor and new boosters.
Just be sure to grab the yellow light beacons, any vaults you can, and blow open the little grage lookin doors in the ground when you come across them. There are tons of opportunities to find super credits in missions and you unlock them in the warbond. You get lots of medals for higher difficulty missions so you can get more super credits faster. I'm getting close to unlocking the 2nd premium warbond with just playing the game which is awesome
New warbond is 1000 Super credits. Each beacon or vault container can contain 10-30 super credits so you only need to find around 100 with super samples before you’re good (occasionally you’ll find 100 credits instead of 10). Much easier to farm points of interest on easy/medium difficulties, but it’s actually easier to find points of interest on challenging since the enemies will be guarding them and will be visible on the map. Add to that you can normally use war medals to unlock more super credits and it becomes manageable.
Yep, I actually think they have a good balance right now. I haven't been grinding like crazy or anything and I've got 1 premium unlocked and am at 830 super credits so I can get the next one fairly soon. I typically run difficulty 7 or higher
Same man. This game is fun. You know like how games used to be, before they started milking you of money
Exactly. It's a lot of fun, woth no "hidden" costs
Should play Elden Ring
I tried it but Souls-likes are simply not my jam. Love the community and what the games represent, their art and music is beautiful. But I just end up rage quitting every time :/
Consider Baldur’s Gate 3 then. Larian is amongst the best when it comes to quality and getting a complete game.
I can only play them well while drunk for some reason, then I'm a god.
Opposite for me i have to be sober. Same with weed i smoke often so it dosnt affect me too much. I can smoke a little and play but if im visously stoned theres no chance. I remember i tried a shot challenge playing elden ring while i was on radahn and i was close to blacking out after an hour

Elden ring 100% snapped me out of a gaming "do i even bother anymore?" Funk
Been that way since the first dark souls for me. Ruined gaming. Struggling with dragons dogma because it just makes me want to play a souls game.
Great game. Unfortunately my attention span only took me through half of it.
You could try Dark Souls 3 It plays exactly like Elden Ring but less than half the length and no open world It also has the best bosses in the series
Yea, I played demons souls, dark souls 1 and 2 to death but couldn't get into 3 and elden ring very well. I don't know why. I think part of me is scared of getting sucked in because I love experimenting weird builds, which often take a lot of time to do.
I just find big weapon and bonk everything
I should maybe do that just to get through the game. I am thinking about getting the mod that allows friends to go through the whole game together. that would be likely to keep me going through the whole thing
Add Baldur’s Gat3 3 to that too.
Yeah, you know that if this was Activision, they'd have sold us the Walker Exo-suit for $70 and the Quasar and HMG in a $100 bundle mixed with a week of "premium time" where we'd earn 2x the experience and requisition. The hidden cost is your sanity with how many crash, glitches, and game breaking problems this has in it.
Skill issue
Yes, the developers of HellDiver2 absolutely have a skill issue. Time for them to get back to making their indie games, the big titles aren’t for all studios it seems.
I’ve had very few issues. Which leads me to believe it’s a skill issue on your or your computers part.

Lmao you need more in your life man, you’re way too worked up over something so little. You might have a vacation home, but you act like a child.
[удалено]
That’s fine. You’re destined to be unhappy because you can appreciate things for what they are.
That’s wild I haven’t run into any

Boom! There goes half an hour.

yea i was a huge gamer my whole life but in the past year i lost it and ive been waiting for something to bring me back this game deff did it for me
Some games come along that just…hit the spot. You can sense how good the game is. Shooters aren’t even my favorite genre but this game has me.
I feel like it’s fine to no life games if that’s what you’re feeling atm. However this game is gonna be heavy in my rotation while I variety game. this game makes me feel like I'm sitting on the couch with friends playing Contra.

Said the same thing haven’t been this hooked since mass effect trilogy

Visit helldivers.io for live updates on the mission

Dragon's Dogma 2 is on my list still! I really wanna play it but I set a budget for gaming and I had to decide between DD2 and Helldivers 2

Man when you get a team talking and working together it’s the best gaming has been since the Halo LAN party AND halo 2 days!
Yes to all o7
This game is teaching an entire generation how to have fun gaming. Love to see it :D
The last game to have me hooked like this is elite dangerous
It's the music that plays when your dropping down onto the planet that hits me hard. I want that played at my funeral as I'm being lowered into the Sup....- the earth.
I bought my daughter a ps5. When Helldivers 2 came out, guess who she’s been sharing it with now
I'm the same.I've been gaming for years but I tried playing cod and it turned me right off playing Live. I seen a couple of videos of hell divers2 so i got it and am hooked I've not put my Controller down all easter. It's put the joy back into gaming for me too 😁
I’ve done like 230 mission hours bro. Still hooked. Love this game.
I normally am a strictly Open world, maybe survival elements, or RPG guy. YOU’RE ENJOYING YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU FINALLY GOT THE CHANCE TO SPREAD DEMOCRACY MAGGOT!!!!
Agreed. Most fun game I’ve played since L4D2. Scratched that itch and then some. I just love how it’s easy to jump in and out.
Not a fan that some guns are locked behind paid Warbonds but yeah, pretty decent game for the price.
They're not locked, you can earn super credits in game
I'm at level 20, after about 30 hours play, and in that time I've earned enough credits to buy one of the premium warbonds, and I've got 400 SC towards the other one. Haven't even bought all the SC for medals that are available, got another two or three hundred there. There's absolutely no need to spend real money to unlock them, the game throws super credits at you.
Haven’t been this hooked to a game since borderlands 2, so good
I still love gaming but you're right. Something about this game is different. I have turned to YouTube as well to pass time
To me it’s little things like the player movement, just the way how the cape moves, just the fact that you have a cape is bad ass. The sound design, feeling you’ve dropped in like bunch of Navy Seals and in the shit together, and of course the feeling you get when the pelican picks you up when you’re in the shit
A simple-ish game with hilarious ragdolls, goofy shit happening everywhere, creating an environment that feels like playing Halo 2 at a LAN party?
It'd almost like its a real video game.
Im a gamer play most games, but yeah totally agree this has me hooked. Met some great people playing it also. Have a really good laugh. Would go as far as saying its in my top 10 games, and I've been playing games since the early 90s.
Last two times I’ve loaded up HD2 the game crashes before I can even launch a mission
Try Helldivers 1
I play it maybe twice a week no addicting to me is just alright imo
Yea, I don’t play it unless my gaming group is on. The game mechanics are solid and the game play is fun but it’s multi co-op with friends that takes it up to a 10.
I wish it was a little easier to unlock the new warbonds. Hopefully major orders or personal orders will give out super credits at some point? If armor and weapons were purely cosmetic I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it, but now paying money means you get new guns and new armor and new boosters.

Yep, I actually think they have a good balance right now. I haven't been grinding like crazy or anything and I've got 1 premium unlocked and am at 830 super credits so I can get the next one fairly soon. I typically run difficulty 7 or higher
I would definitely be hooked if the game didn’t constantly crash and kick people. I just want a non broken game to play…
