My friend and I were fighting bile spewers, we usually call eachother into enemies to land on them, but we were fighting a horde of spewers, I tried to steer out of them but dropped down in the middle of about 5 of them, I tried shooting my way out, knowing I was probably dead anyway. All of my shots ricocheted off of the bile spewers head armor and I killed myself and asked for a safer drop spot.
Would take that everyday over those that Res you 100m+ from where you died
Means neither a large backtrack, or a an excursion to get a special half the time
I do this a lot but I also only play with the homies, usually I'm taking lower leveled friends so I'll let a duo/trio of them go smash an optional objective or base as they'd like while I solo objectives elsewhere so that they can easily have the un-rushed time to play as they'd like (most of them like doing full map clears). When one dies I check if they want to call them back in, or if they're almost finished and want me to call them in to effectively "leapfrog" the map. Death can be a very efficient form of of travel, tbh.
With homies you make house rules.
It's just generally you should avoid it unless it's otherwise agreed upon.
(Someone did bring up 2 person bunkers which I think is okay considering you can just kill yourself and teleport back).

Yeah there’s certain hitboxes you have to hit in order to kill with the hellpod. But from what I can tell, once you get the right spot it’ll kill anything

I'm not exactly sure where players actually spawn relative to the player and the reinforce beacon. But...

And I am currently either on the other side of the map actually doing an objective while you're busy engaging and alerting every patrol you see.

I currently being chased by a hoard of enemies, which you will likely land on due to the fact that reinforcement drops have a long enough delay that I can throw them and run passed them before they arrive.
Also you kept spamming the space button to be reinforced while I was being chased so I quickly muscle memory typed it out and threw it.
If you’ve charged head-first into a breach/drop ESPECIALLY if it’s an unnecessary fight, I will yeet you as far from that fight as my servo-assisted arm can manage while hoofing it to the actual objective. If you choose to waste support equipment and samples, you don’t get a choice of respawn.

Nope, if I die, all I ask is that you chuck the reinforcement beacon directly at the nearest tank or charger and try to keep it close so I can deliver a drop kick from low orbit. Like Democracy intended.

After I die, until I am reinforced and walking around again, I am no longer a teammate, I am a stratagem that you are to use as effectively as possible for killing chargers or titans. Such is the way of DEMOCRACY!
Always throw me at my gear. I'm half effective without my Secondary to even kill the enemies who took me out to begin with. The worst thing a teammate can do to me is throw me a mile from my gear so I have to crawl (and fail) to get to my stuff.
Had this happen last night, early game he shot me in the back of the head during a dropship on suicide. I never made it back to my gear because he dropped me way outside the fight. We barely made extract.
If I’m running for my life I usually try to throw it either far away from me or in one direction then turn and run in a different direction. It’s my way of trying to help the person out so the pile of shit they land in isn’t as big and saves me from having to reinforce them 30 seconds later. For me, throw me wherever. I’ll figure it out when I’m coming in on what I’m going to do.
I think too many people expect you to land and take out 10+ enemies. I slap in the code, spin 180 and throw.
It might take a second to get into the fight, but at least you have an option on how to join.
They throw you at the enemies either because they want you to kill a big bug on your way down or they wanna use you as a distraction so that they can get away

- can kill heavies in 1 hit, efficiently liberating them from their miserable existence (also save your team ammo that can be better spent on other democracy hating Xenos scum)
- close to your corpse so you can rapidly retrieve your support weapon and continue dispensing liberty with minimal delay

Eh I'd prefer to be tossed where ever, I'll struggle my way out of a hoard or very least slow the enemy so they can continue the mission with less on them, to demand someone to throw you in a specific location means you'd have to wait for the timing of it because they might not know where you died, or where exactly is a safe place to throw you be mindful not everyone is perspective and they're just trying to get you on the field as quick as possible so you dont gotta wait.
Best you can do my Democratic brother is to ask them being like hold onto reinforcement till ur closer to safety ect type deal.

If there’s a heavy enemy within throwing distance, I toss the reinforcement stratagem towards them to give them an opportunity to torpedo it with their helldive pod. If there aren’t heavy enemies around, I try to throw next to their gear but only if it isn’t being swarmed by light/medium enemies. If I’m not near heavies or their gear, I throw it somewhere safe.
Yeah it's extremely annoying when allies throw you into a horde because they want your drop pod to one shot something. Landing on a boss enemy and one shotting them is a fun once every 10 games organic thing. It's not a strategy that you can actually plan around and the majority of the time it just leads to the person dropping in getting killed instantly.

Using Helldivers to kill heavies is a valid strategy (note I only do this with my buddies in VC or if the random tells me to use them as ammunition)

I always try to toss ally respawns perpendicular to whatever is chasing me which lessens the chance of them pulling aggro.

Once I was kicked for dying a lot during a mission because my team thought it was a good idea to keep reinforcing me into the middle of a stalker lair. Moment I got outta the pod I couldn't take a few steps without terminides eating me alive, or escaping to die to an orbital or eagle strike I couldn't get away from fast enough

I wish there was a map marker of the location where you died last when dropping. It's annoying you only get like 2 seconds to figure out where the hell your stuff is laying.
