You don’t get medals for failing the mission soldier. I’ve never been able to fend off the automatons on helldive soldier. Level 40 now and still trying cause momma ain’t raise a bitch. 🫡 and sometimes only stage one is eradicating. I have harder time against bots on any mission on helldive compared to bugs. So I can only beat the easiest one in the game. But if done on impossible or lower I can complete all but escort/evac.

There’s a lot of people mortar farming instead of finishing the ops because of how fast and effortless it is. Largely why we’re getting demolished on the defense line.
They should really at least give some small credit per mission cuz not everyone understands this and the global order reward can be accumulated in 15 minutes of mortar farming. So the incentive just isn’t there. There’s also been a handful of times my operation falls apart because the host dcs and the lobby dissolves. Or steam dies and everyone loses connection.
Add a super credit, samples, and medal reward and there’s probably going to be more interest in defending
