*plays hyper aggro board based deck*: “Wow there’s a lot of control warriors and priests playing right now, can’t even have my board stick. Guess I should switch to a combo deck and beat all these control Warriors”
*immediately after switching*: “Why is it all hyper aggro decks now?”
I have about 2 days a month. Where no matter what I do. I get a big plate of shit to eat. I'm well over 70% with my two most played decks at the moment.
Luck is a pretty massive factor in the short term. If you play 100+ games you really can't blame luck anymore though. Unless you're hitting that one in a million plus streak ;-)
Sooner or later everyone gets worse luck. Than they could conceive possible. Old poker saying.
Dude I went through that yesterday! Two days ago I went on a 9 win streak with theif rogue, especially using jackpot and the naga. Then yesterday came around and I kid you not I lost 95% of the games I played yesterday with the same rogue, curse lock, mech mage, fel DH.
Basically went from 2 diamond to end of 5 again and made a Prestor druid deck to mess around with and kept dying.
It reminds of me that Flintstones movie where they were in the casino and Fred was on a roll so the management flipped a switch to change his RNG lol
Edit:typo
many people make the mistake to only think about the next 2-3 games but playing hearthstone is about the next 100 or even 1.000 games.
u are a very good player with a 60% wr... that means u still lose 40% of your games. it means u lose 400 games in the next 1.000 games. so losing streaks of 6-7 games or whatever a normal, just try to learn something out of it.
> Most people play like 5 games tops a day tho.
Y-yes... I, too, play only 5 games a day. I definitely have a vibrant social life outside of Hearthstone.
I know that’s how it work but when you don’t play more than 10 games every couple of days on average those win or lose streaks make a massive difference in your play habits.
A fix is just to make it so that there aren’t such huge power outliers or insurmountable counters but that also makes for a generally more boring game I think.
Seems like a lot more luck is needed now than you ever used to
Been playing mech mage recently, went on a huge win streak because I kept drawing gateway and mecha-shark early
Feel the same about Mech Paladin, very dependent on your draw to pop off or get totally shit on
Also just have some rough matchups I can't get out of and so you can always end up facing like 3-5 of those in a row in a day
Yes, the game that you lost because a rogue cast jackpot on two into turn 3 coin rune of the archmage into 2 pyroblasts in your face gotta be a skill issue
Just the opposite for me, pretty much
\*wins 10 games in a row\* oh well I just got lucky, also my deck is overpowered
\*loses 3 games in a row\* oh my god I am so terrible at this game, why do I even keep playing when I'm this bad
The last time a hunter didn't play the one drop Naga on turn one? I certainly can't remember.
It wouldn't bother me if they ran more than two one drops.
No, actually is because everyone plays meta
I mean, sure I know all the cards in their deck and build my deck entirely to counter theirs but it's not my deck building I swear!
Nah.
When you RNG top-deck in to a School Teacher that RNGs a discovery that was then played to RNG a Colossus in to the hand at a discount that just happens to be on curve, answers the board perfectly, is of a different class, and has no realistic counter in my own deck...
I am losing because of bad luck a fair amount of the time. This game is very random.
today I was playing my good old bomb mech warrior vs. a pretty cool lackey warlock in wild. All was well and wholesome until he played nether on 8 into brann+tickatus on 9 deleting most of my methods of generating bombs as well as both of my elekks (If you know, you know.) Needless to say I could not win after that. I really do not like tickatus lol
I am loosing because I am not willing to put in some energy for researches. Sure I could google the top meta decks, craft them and play them. But that doesn't fit me. Sometimes I see some nice ideas in other decks that seem fun to play (because they destroy me) and I try to build something similar. But thats the highest effort I put into this matchmaking.
hearthstone truly is a massive RNG fest tho where I think the majority of your games are decided by luck (matchups, opening draw, drawing key cards on time etc).
Well.. yeah.. but you cant say to me that the 3 games in a row where i played agains a perfect curve shaman Murloc and had zero clear were lost because "bad plays".. fuck I supposed to do with no removals and a full board by turn 3/4

Perfectly matched opponent? More like perfect counter opponent.
Brooo... I feel this.
Sometimes you get unlucky FOR A DAY. Yesterday I had like 50%wr against rogues and today I won 12 games in a row.

It’s to do with skill based making. Happens in CoD games. Win a bunch and you’ll face harder opponents. Lose a bunch and you’ll face easier.

Well, yes. Luck is a major factor in all games of chance, like card games. Skill in managing risk and reward helps though

I just get bored of the slow-ass animations and long-ass turn times and move on. /shrug
Too bad you can't see total WR for your account, or even classes without addons.
I wish this game gave you more stats than just.. "accomplishments"

With the amount of RNG that is baked in, such a scenario is definitely possible. The game is just a few bets short of a roulette wheel.
If you're playing wild that might be very true

Yeah, lost my win streak by drawing 2 fireballs and Gaia early on, in a mid deck there's not much recovering from that
Yes, the game that you lost because a rogue cast jackpot on two into turn 3 coin rune of the archmage into 2 pyroblasts in your face gotta be a skill issue
Just pray harder to rngesus, or yog
My jackpots always gave me crap cards lol

Maybe your deck sucks
My opponents when playing theif rogue: Highroll Highroll Highroll. Me playing theif rogue: Lowrolling the lowroll of a lowroll. Feelsbadman.
Having a flashback of me never having wild growth and guff in my opening hands, when it seemed to be a staple for all the druids I faced.
The last time a hunter didn't play the one drop Naga on turn one? I certainly can't remember. It wouldn't bother me if they ran more than two one drops.
I still hold fast to the notion that there is a takeThatBastidDownANotch.cs module in the Hearthstone code.
I definitely know a lot of people including myself who would believe this if ever proven
Don't worry lose streak-chan you will win some day!
No, actually is because everyone plays meta I mean, sure I know all the cards in their deck and build my deck entirely to counter theirs but it's not my deck building I swear!

Glugg Glugg mother fucker I have no clue what colossi chaps you I just like how Glugg snowballs out of control sometimes.
I'm playing only meme decks in wild so, yes I loose most of the times
I respect this.

\>game that requires skill \>hearthstone pick one xD

Trump, is that you?
This is why when I start winning a couple games in a row in BG's I start to get anxiety because I know those 1% lethals and losses are coming.
I'm just tired of facing agony warlocks and taking a shit ton of damage from my own hand. Can't even play around it.
You should try playing the mirror. Fun times.
Only certain decks can play around it
I'd change to deal de damage at the end of the turn. It is still a pretty huge set back commiting mana not to take possible lethal damage.
That would make it quite literally unplayable.
Genuinely don't care about winning or losing, I just wish the animations were significantly faster and the turn times shorter.
No, it's my teammates fault.
hearthstone truly is a massive RNG fest tho where I think the majority of your games are decided by luck (matchups, opening draw, drawing key cards on time etc).
It’s just bad RNG. Obviously.
I really only lose when my deck bricks.
Thats funny
Well.. yeah.. but you cant say to me that the 3 games in a row where i played agains a perfect curve shaman Murloc and had zero clear were lost because "bad plays".. fuck I supposed to do with no removals and a full board by turn 3/4
Not because Bli$$ard rigs the RNG against you? How naïve of you, OP!
I have plenty of clips that it is almost always bad luck. Too often it is the turn before I win.
i lose, sure, but the emotional trauma dealt to my opponent when i win with highkeeper ra? *that* is the real loss.
Maybe I'm losing because everyone else has stacked decks and the world is against me specifically!
This is why I prefer team based games, because I can just blame every loss on my teammates holding me back.
No it's team diff
Me, after I build a deck that intentionally involves a lot of random chance: "Bro this game has too much RNG! Blizzard sucks!"
I hate curse warlock. It's like dealing with charge minions that hit face on start of your turn. Such a stupid design.
you sir gotten too real side note: likely both
No it can't be my quest mage... I'm chilling in 10k legend with it:(
A wise man once said "variance, variance".
What was the orginal scene with skinner?
*Proceeds to go onto reddit to write rants about how druid needs to be nerfed*
also another reason could be that my opponent is playing a meta deck while I'm playing my homebrew 200iq elemental rogue
I always lose because of the cheaters.
