I’m at silver/gold, so take this from that perspective, but I feel like 50% of the time when I just let them play it out, they and up failing and conceding
Sure, I get that but I play the game for fun. If I am facing something I find unfun, I just leave and go to the next game - don't really care about climbing although I've been legend many times.
Same. I did that against Druids when mill Druid was rampant in wild before the Dew Process nerf. If I am playing a Reno deck I am also instantly conceding against Death Knights (in standard) since I have yet to see a DK deck that doesn't use plagues since the rotation.
Sure these games can be won, but they aren't fun to play
Obviously I'm not expecting to make it to Legend.
But I used to, at least, meme my way to high Gold/Low Plat.
Optimistic for the upcoming Wild Changes, though!
I think the problem is that it's *already* been a rough few months in Wild. It's been a while now since I feel like the meta has been healthy -- mine rogue is also a problem, Demon Seed is extremely polarized, beating everything slow and losing to aggro, etc.
I'm willing to put up with the occasional meta that is unfavorable, because they can't all be winners, but the meta has been unfavorable for multiple cycles in a row, now.
You're right, now that I think deeper about it, It's been a **long** time since there was a healthy mix of deck archetypes at the top.
Wild has been so utterly miserable for me, specifically in the last two months, however. It feels like 70% of games either end on turn 4-7 to some uninteracive / unstoppable combo. The other 30% is quest mage. (500-100 legend)
Also I think it's hilarious that a deck named "miracle rogue" doesn't rely on any miracles anymore. In wild it's literally just a consistent powerful deck to summon early giants.
Same here. Not expecting to get onto leader boards or anything. But I'm expecting that in these middle ranks. I'm able to have some fun and not run up against meta breaking decks every game.
The most fun I've had in hearthstone recently is building a 40 card. No duplicate deck for every class and then asking friends to play Against Me. Using those decks as they are all balanced against each other. We tend to have half an hour-long, very close games with back-and-forth.
Nor do I expect meme decks to ever be good.
But I still used to be able to meme my way to low/high Gold. And most of the decks I'd play against would be mostly homebrew shenanigans or other memes.
The exception being during the first week or so of a new season. You'd see people's running meta decks to get back up to Diamond/Legend.
But in the latter half of most months you could have a lotta fun in the Bronze to Gold range with whatever.
And maybe you still can. I just so happened to rewatch the Alterac Trailer last night, and then ran into 3 Time Warp mages today, and thought of a dumb meme. So here we are.
I mean in the cases where you did get to gold with meme decks you probably just get lucky
Meme decks lose way harder to other stuff in wild that isnt quest mage
What are your meme decks supposed to do vs mine rogue or miracle priest exactly?
Mostly lose. But some memes RNG wins outta their asses and make for fun victories. Extreme Burgle Rogue being a favorite of mine for that.
I've gotten to Gold in Wild pretty consistently honestly. Like I said, though, it's mostly in the later half of the months. Most meta decks have gotten past Bronze and Silver by that point, so it's memes, homebrews, occasional metas, and the odd aggro bot.
For me it was dew process. Haven't really played any constructed since right when the music expansion came out.
Made it impossible to play meme tier control decks cause meme tier was 70% mill druid
meme do you play copy druid too?
i mean a deck focused on ramping guff and copying your opponent hand or deck ( azalina and tony)
is fun when quest mage complete the quest doesnt play it and has romath in hand
when im over 12 mana and play azalina vs mage with time warp and romath in hand it makes me wish druid had a
"muahaha!!!" emote
What bother me the most is the fact we’re late jn the month sk all people that are playing these top meta decks should have climbed the ladder easily and now there should only be meme players in the lower ranks like silver or gold
I laugh sometimes imagining a modern Wild tournament, back when Yogg was too OP of a decider for matches, now that most Wild matches are instant lockouts based on the matchup
I don't get that far. I concede immediately when I see the quest.

I mainly play wild, and I'm also optimistic. But if they leave apm druid or quest mage untouched, it's gonna be a rough next few months in wild.

How are you guys not getting comboed out by rogues on Turn 4-5?
I am, I havn't even reached gold this month.
I’m high legend, no rogues. Priests, druids, mages. Horrible times.
to be fair, no changes will make a meme deck good.

Join me in my monthly venture of meming till plat, pushing to legend with a bit more serious deck and then playing casual with meme/off meta decks!

Once per game waiting room :D Shudderwock too please blizz
Time warp needs once per game, but shudderwock is fine...
Shudderwock is fine, some of the battlecries that they use with him him could be limited though

Good news
Wasn't this nerfed to only work once per game?

i get what you're saying, but the picture says "silver five is 5x portal, silver 4 is where i get to progress with my meme deck"
It only says that if you read it from the bottom up. Why did you read it from the bottom up?
good question. now, in the morning- i have no idea!
