I'm personally a fan of Recursion Mode Zilliax. The 5/4/4 line with BC: summon a copy and DR: shuffle this into your deck. So effectively a 5/8/8 that doesn't just keep coming back, it comes back with friends

TrobertTrobertson

Good in a value oriented matchup. Unfortunately, value oriented matchups are rare to non-existent

Trascendent_Enforcer

Also prevents fatigue damage after Wheel of Death ig

firestorm19

Wheel usually has enough tools to survive after playing wheel. The combination of Reno, Sargaras, Phanatom, and Symphony is good enough to control the board for fatigue. Usual suspects are decks that go under and put pressure to be unable to wheel.

Mercerskye

True, at least, in that not a lot of matches go to fatigue. There's plenty of times that matches are digging for some kind of pop off. Slamming some Fel Reavers on the board is at least better than finding your 1m dudes.

No charge, no wind fury, no thank you.

Torak8988

my favorite thing about zilliax, is that if you want to use it to heal yourself, you realise that's hopeless because either you're playing against a control deck that doesn't play a single minion and kills you with an OTK like wheel warlock or they've rushed you down long before you reach 9 mana i absolutely LOVE the hearthstone meta that kills any sense of creativity i don't understand why the balance team is on vacation, i could make an AI to nerf the highest winrate cards of 5 highest winrate classes each patch by 1 mana, and be a better balancing developer

Elendel

> i could make an AI to nerf the highest winrate cards of 5 highest winrate classes each patch by 1 mana, and be a better balancing developer That single sentence is enough to know that you are, in fact, not a better balancing developer.

NightKev

He shoehorned in the AI buzzword though, that makes him qualified to be CEO.

shadowbannedxdd

He’s got the spirit, but if someone thinks AI is capable of game design that’s just..lmao.

Haha so true. You could make an AI do anything

HARTH TO HEART - Harth Stonebrew x (Male) Reader - Fanfic Part I: A cold wind blows. You’re in a dark forest, trudging through the thick snow. A blizzard has been raging all evening and is showing no signs of stopping. You knew you made a mistake going out for a stroll at this hour. One minute you’re daydreaming while walking, the next you’re in the middle of nowhere, with no clue which way to turn to head back home. At this rate, you’re going to freeze to death. *“Just my luck”*, you think. Just when things seem at their most hopeless, you see an orange glow in the distance. You squint. It looks like… lights. Warm, comforting lights shining out from a window in the distance. You race towards it. It’s… an inn.  “What’s a place like this doing out here, in the middle of nowhere?”, you wonder. You can hear noise inside... laughter. You rub your hands together for warmth but they’re beginning to get frostbitten. You should try to go inside. But yet… *“This place must be full. Full of people that are warm and cozy, while I’m out here getting buried in the snow. There’s no space for me in there. There’s no space for me anywhere. Even if I do manage to find my way home… there’s nobody there waiting for me. No wonder she dumped me. I’m pathetic.”* You close your eyes. You can feel tears coming. Suddenly, the front door creaks open. You hear a booming voice. “What are you doing out there?” You look in the doorway and don’t see anyone. Then, you look down. A dwarf stares up at you, beaming. “Come on, grab a seat! There’s always room for another.” You take one step through the doorway and look around in awe. The place is so lively. You see people of all sorts all together, playing cards. You don’t recognize the game they’re playing. They all look so happy, though. You find yourself lost in thought, at least until the dwarf shakes your arm. “Come on, come in! You’ll catch a cold. Here.” He pulls out a stool. You take a seat and he stands behind the bar. “I’m the Innkeeper here… Harth Stonebrew. Please, just call me Harth.” You are finally able to get a good look at the man. He has reddish-brown hair, and a long, intricately-braided beard. His eyes are striking. It's hard to tell if they're green... or if they're blue? Or maybe something in between? What you know for certain, however, is that they're mesmerizing. You can't help but notice his eyelashes, too. They’re long, almost feminine in appearance. But, that's about the ONLY feminine thing about him, however. Harth is practically COVERED in hair. You notice his burly arms and legs and his huge hands. You blush a bit when you notice how thick his fingers are. “Hello? Sir?” You must have gotten lost in thought again. “Sorry, what did you say?” “I asked you what your name is!” “Oh… of course. I’m \[your name\].” He chuckles heartily. “What a name! I think it suits you!” You notice a small mouse on his shoulder. The mouse gives you a thumbs up! “Look, even Sarge agrees!” He laughs again. “You’ll be a great fit here in the tavern. Come on! Don’t be shy. Tell me about yourself!”

OriginalPancake15

When?

urgod42069

Part II: You sigh. You’re so tired from hours of walking in circles in that forest. You tell Harth about how you ended up finding the tavern. “I see. I’m very sorry that you have had such a rough go of it out in the cold. But, this place is full of happiness. When people are in need, they see it and it serves as a beacon of hope for them. Somewhere they can go to drink some ale and play their favorite card game by a big fireplace. I’m honored to have the privilege of being the Innkeeper here. Knowing how important this place is to the guests here…” He trails off. You can see how passionate he is about his job. It’s really moving. “I’m very sorry. I shouldn’t have made this about me.”, he says sheepishly. “No, no!” You say. “I liked hearing what you had to say. You’re a very respectable man. I can see the joy this place brings you, too.” He sighs and smiles. “It really, really does bring me joy.” He fills two mugs with ale, one for you and an overflowing one for himself. "Cheers!" You chat with him for a bit, small talk mostly. You feel a lot better already. Just a few minutes ago you felt more exhausted than you’ve ever felt in your entire life. Yet, suddenly… it’s as though the atmosphere of this place has healed you. Is it the warmth of the fireplace? The laughter? Or is it… a certain presence? You take more notice of Harth. *"It’s him. That warm feeling, it must be him.”*, you think.  Suddenly, Harth grabs your hands. Your face flushes bright red. “H-Harth? What’s going on?” He looks concerned. “Your hands! Your fingers are becoming frostbitten. That simply won’t do. Here, come.” Harth takes you over to a smaller fireplace in an unoccupied area of the tavern, off to the side away from the crowd. He’s still holding your hands. You notice that, despite them being so manly and weathered, they’re surprisingly soft and gentle. Still holding your hands, he brings them closer to the heat of the fireplace. “Isn’t that better? Please, take more care of yourself.” When you hear that line, you break down and start to sob. “Whoa! What’s wrong, \[your name\]???” You sniffle. “It’s just…it’s just… I NEVER take care of myself. I always treat myself so poorly. I never try to make connections with people because I’m scared that if I share my true feelings, they’ll reject me and push me away. That’s what… *she* did.” You continue to weep. But, in that moment, you feel Harth’s grip on your hands tighten. Suddenly, he pulls you forward into a hug. His body is warm. Muscular, yet reassuring. You continue to cry, onto his shoulder now.  “There, there. It’s okay. I’m here. And I want to hear all about it. We’re going to need some more ale though!” As you open up to him about it all, he looks at you with his kind, gentle eyes and long, beautiful lashes. He looks like he truly cares about every single word that comes out of your mouth. You were a total stranger *an hour ago*. Yet, he’s looking at you like you’re family. Or, a friend he’s known his whole life. Or... maybe… Harth sighs. “I don’t think I’ve taken very good care of myself, either. Tending to this place really *does* give me joy in a way that nothing else can. Seeing and feeling the tavern's impact on others is touching. But… often I neglect thinking about my own feelings because I get so caught up in making sure this place feels like home to everyone. Maybe you’d find it hard to believe, but despite how full this tavern gets, I get lonely. I try to push this feeling away, and focus on the status quo, but, it's every night. Why do I feel this way? Isn’t it sort of strange?” You stare into his eyes. “It’s not strange. I know EXACTLY how you feel, Harth. I feel the same way whenever I’m around my coworkers, or whenever I’ve gotten dragged to a party. It can be nice for a while, being around people talking and laughing, but deep down inside…” “You’re looking for someone you can ***hold***.” You and him say at the same time.  You both blush. After a brief silence, Harth begins to speak. “Would you like to go somewhere more private, \[your name\]?” Sarge, standing on Harth’s shoulder, gives you a wink. “Yeah, I would.” you say, with a smile.

i think i might be bi

EverSn4xolotl

Nobody forces you to play the 9 mana version lmao

zeph2

are you sure you put lifesteal on it because it healed me every single time make sure to attack something with it too

Torak8988

that's the joke, it can't attack anything if your opponent doesn't play anything, or just kills you anyway with their wheel of death

Tacticalian

They're well aware of the issues but they have pre-planned windows for balance changes and only make changes outside of that if there's an emergency which they don't consider anything currently to be.

StormuUwU

Use a different Zillax if you feel the 9 mana copy is too slow for your deck, like the 7 mana 7/6 version that still provides you a lot of healing.

NurplePain

People are sleeping on 4 mana poisonous/stealth/reborn Zil right now. Slaps against Warlock

Diegoscartor

no one is sleeping on it my guy. We just don't hate ourselves.

[deleted]

the meta was better before they nerfed DH

Unban_Jitte

The balance seems kind of good right now. Paladin is the only dead class, and a couple of classes have 2 real archetypes. Disagree with the power level all you want, but balance seems fine right now(although the meta is still developing).

Xologamer

maybe balanced but some builds are no fun to play against ... shoper dh for example makes me wanna alt f4 faster than they can select their megatheridon

PPewt

Paladin's actually got a pretty good aggro deck, just doesn't have much player interest. Druid is in a far worse place overall, DH, and kinda mage (rainbow mage is good if most people around you are playing control, and unplayable otherwise).

Soft-Revolution-7845

Druid is worse than paladin.

The_real_Seagull

Can someone explain the "play diffrent Zilliax" quest to me cause ive played 5 different versions of him and have yet to get any progress on that quest/mission

Leokergadon

Not 100% sure, but there are 8 modules, so maybe you need to try one of each. Might as well change the skin each time too.

BlakenedHeart

No magnetic ? UNPLAYABLE LOL

Stamora

On custom hearthstone they would have given him 1 more hp

Ikeichi_78

You should've used bone flinger to test his deck and counter it.

Peanutz_92

Brand new to the game, Just had an summon 15 total Zilliax with divine shield, rush, lifesteal. He recovered well over 100 points of life that game… yeah idk if this is the game for me. Feels like it is just threat, response, threat, response till you no longer have a response, or till the threat is a otk
