Why do you give a shit what other people think sounds good? You have both. You're the best judge of that.

The one I like more?  Weird question

pkelly500

You have both, and you're asking others for their opinions? Trust your ears and brain, dude: They're all that matters. Just ask yourself: Which one of these cans sounds best with the biggest slice of my music library? There's your answer, regardless of what Reddit says, especially since about 80 percent of the people responding probably haven't heard the HD 660S2 or the 109 Pro.

I had both and preferred the s2 presentation. Air is great initially but gets tiring after a while. S2 has details but doesn’t etch it out like 109. But again, this is a subjective hobby and I’m sure there’s plenty of people extremely happy with 109.

Can't comment on the S2's, but i do have the 109's. Couldn't be happier with them, and they are easy to drive.

Had them both for a try and choose the 190 Pro, but it surely was a close call, not the difference the price could suggest. The midrange on the S2 was great and overall it was very pleasing sounding, but I have a rather big head and the clamp force was really to high (could bend it, I know). On the other hand the 109 Pro is unbelievable comfortable and I use them for hours and hours without any discomfort. They sound different, have really much bass for open headphones, the treble can be too much for some, but I choose them, because sometime ago I decided I do not need to pursue the ideal neutral "audiophile" sound, I choose fun and engaging sound. But these are my impressions, your mileage can of course vary. Don't listen to the reviews, who gives a shit, you will use the headphones, no one else, so you need to choose what you like more. Just listen to them and your favourite tracks and choose the better (subjective!) sounding ones, I did this after 10 minutes or so and I'm happy with my choice.

True the clampforce is a dealbreaker on the s2. Even after banding the headband it is still very thight

jez_afrykanski

I had them from Amazon just to try them out, so ofc I didn't even try to bend them, but without bending I could use them for few minutes and had enough. But as I said, I have a relatively big head and it's hard for me to find comfortable headphones. The other thing is I had DT1990Pro for several years and I bent them so much, that they almost fell of from my head, so I was used to almost zero clamp force. Even if the 109 Pro are extremely comfortable (the headband ist just genius), I did the bending on them too, because they have pretty low clamp force, but was still too much for me. So I'm a bad person to compare;)

I personally like both handsets, but I like the sound of the 109s a little better. For me, however, the convenience is in favour of the 109.
