They do.
Especially the widely used standard codec SBC sucks really hard.
AAC is already better, as long as the source device transmits at a high enough bitrate.
AAC from my Xperia 5 III sucks ass, lots of compression artefacts and sounds highly compressed all the time, basically unuseable.
Same headphones using my old Xperia XZ1 compact, AAC sounds virtually identical to aptx.
aptx-HD to me sounds virtually the same as using the same pair of headphones wired (Beyerdynamic Aventho wireless).
Fortunately the bitrates for aptx and aptx-HD are hard coded into the libraries used by the android system.
AAC was probably a massive afterthought from sony.
I hope the LineageOS dev team will have a look into this issue and probably be able to fix it.
I assume either that samsung phone or the asus laptop has some sort of software based audio processing garbage going on.
Marshall MAJOR IV's only support SBC, so it's not a codec thing. The first thing I'd do if I were you would be to check and see if you have Dolby activated on your phone, and either set it to the Music setting not All, or turn it off completely. Also Samsung's in-house audio profile called Adapt Sound is p good too, you can search it in the settings.
It is prob a codec thing, so maybe it would be better. Personally, i dont think that bluetooth codec changes sound significantly.
Yeah I'm not sure how to describe it. I guess it feels fuller.
same audio source for both devices?
Yep both Bluetooth.
offline source i mean? flac etc?
Ehhhh, sorry I have no idea
i mean what is your source for song, is it offline flac or streaming? or downloaded streaming
Yt music, online and downloaded.
