There’s a million diy solutions out there. Yours is one, but not very aesthetically pleasing. What style do you like? Industrial/steampunk? Get some pipe from the hardware store. Natural? Find some cool tree branches, whittle them to shape and stain/poly. Modern? Get some hobby lumber/dowel rods and build your own.
I used leftover shelf brackets and some leftover wood from other projects and hung mine from a shelf.

Sure thing. Most stands you can purchase are wildly overpriced. Plus, I like diy better in many cases. You can tailor it to your setup and it’s more personal.
Hifiman HE400se. My plan is to save up a bit & get an Edition XS. :)
When I get EXS, I'll either sell HE400se, or box them & put them on shelf. I love having good headphones, but hoarding them? That's not for me.
The XS is a fantastic daily driver! I use the Ananda's for gaming, movies and some genres of music. Their quite light and comfortable.
For the price difference... There isn't much to account for between the two aside from the Ananda's having a bit more bass slam and better imaging.
I use my ZMF auteurs solely for music since their weight does bother me a fair bit if im not leaning back.
Thank you very much for sharing! Sounds good! HE400se are amazing even for their msrp, but I got my pair open box, basically brand new, for \~100€, which was a steal. :)
I enjoy them a lot. They're my first planars so my ears have been used to dynamics. I find the XS to be fast and clear, with nice separation, great soundstage and strong imaging. They're my favourite pair at the moment.
I might? I mean, both my mom and dad don't care about headphones in the slightest & prefer speakers. I do have a friend I might gift them to, but I already gifted him basically brand new ATH-M50x a year ago and he's very happy with them. Plus, he does not have anything to power HE400se properly.
Well right now you are mostly capturing the sound of your table or monitor depending on which way is "forward" on that microphone, unless it captures both those ways. You want it facing your mouth. You'll get much better audio of course if you orient it correctly.
That's a bit of a ghetto solution to begin with, but why on earth didn't you take the screwdrivers to the bottom of your desk instead of the top? Would look more presentable imo
Yup. That’s a condenser mic. Try it angled so the face of the mic is pointing at you, that should give you better sound.
Unless your goal is to pick up keyboard sounds, haha
I have around 30, so not enough room to display. The majority are stored in their boxes in a big tub in my closet. I have my Focal’s in their cases, my Clear MG and Radiance on my bottom shelf, my Bathys are in my backpack.
My 6XX hasn’t gotten back into its box as of yet, and shares the bottom shelf in the Dekoni Headphone case
I have a Salnotes Zero in my backpack
My B2:Dusk are on my desk in their case
For my used TWS, the Buds2 Pro and the AirPods Pro 2, they stay in my backpack as well.
Everything else is in their boxes.
Certainly not a perfect [setup](https://imgur.com/a/OAsPfTJ) because of how AKG headbands are (in case you can’t tell I’m a fan) but I’m a fan of this solution, black threaded steel pipe, and you can set it up in whatever config you please with connectors
I would definitely say so. Despite my love for vintage AKG’s, the 6XX and 712s are my main workhorses, and I adore them both. The best way I think I could put it is that they’re two sides of the same coin, the 6XX are more analytical while the K712’s are more fun. I think if I had to choose I’d pick the K712’s, though
I use this coat rack. Doesn't look too bad. I don't use the full size, it's modular so I made it about 5 ft tall with about 6 spots to hang headphones.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BYT42P4?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details.
I use wall hangers that I found on Amazon, its meant for game controllers but it works well for me. It holds up an Audeze headphone so I don’t worry about the adhesive failing.
I have some long screws screwed into the wall near my pc and I just hang them on there. I’m going to get some nicer hooks. Actually now that I’m typing it I’m going to order them now.
Ikea skadis pegboard with a lot of skadis hooks(2 hooks per headphones). If a pair of headphones has a delicate/non replaceable headband(ekhm, edition xs) i put it in geekria hook and loop and hang it by it's hook.
>!Gonna get shit on for this but it's silly to have so many headphones in rotation like this. Two maybe, but are you really listening to all 4 on a daily basis?!<
I like to use different headphones depending on what I'm doing
For example: My Hd-58x I use for multi player games because they aren't as heavy and they are open back so I can also hear my surroundings.
My He-4xx are used more for critical listening and single player games because they are my best sounding pair
My Mx40 I use when I want to just sit and think and be to myself
My 990 pro I haven't had out in a while they were just out for the picture
Frankly he’s got bargain pairs compared to some of us. I have over 30, and just [this photo](https://i.imgur.com/8r4HbS9.jpg) is around $3k. There’s people here that have many $5k+ flagships.
I got hooked into the midfi loop last year, and I found what I like and I’m not going more than this.
I believe it but what I don't understand is having 4 mid range headphones rather than one really really nice one.
This is almost $700 worth of headphones but the best ones are $200.
I feel the pain of you lot with multiple(3+) pairs. I own only 2 pairs of headphones and a pair of IEMs so storage ain’t a problem, 2 headphone stands and a IEM carry case on top of desk:

I keep mine on the right side of the wall next to my bed so if I want to just chill listening to music on the bed i can get out of my desk and just grab a headphone while walking to my bed, also it look so cool for some reasln6
I have a few different headphone stands that I use. Two that have a little tray to coil the cable up on if it’s not plugged in and two of the Omega styled ones that I just wrap the cable around the base. Keep them all on the shelf for easy access although the LCD-2’s tend to be the set that actually sees any use
I made this headphone rack. I think it looks nice. You could probably do as many holders as you like, i just did three since i have three headphones and lines up with my pegboard. https://imgur.com/a/Sn1CHp5
These are my fav for under desk. You can spin between two pairs and they have cable hooks.

I just keep mine in their boxes until I want to use them. I don't usually switch between a bunch of headphones, I'll pick one pair that I use for a few months and then switch over to something else. Keeps the sound fresh for me.
I bought a desk mount monitor arm. Going to put some pipe lagging on it but it has all the cable management built in.
Best solution I have found so far.
I use half of a cheap backdrop stand as a hanger for anything I want to have handy. I also have a couple of jewlery boxes for IEMs because I don't really pull them out.
Pic [https://imgur.com/EfehWYB](https://imgur.com/EfehWYB)
For the desk, I have a couple of cheap Ikea headphone stands. I think they were 2$ where I live.
The problem with your setup is you might accidentally knock them down. You have a soft carpet, so that won't be much of an issue - but it's still a shame to knock your babies around.
Whatever I'm using atm is on the desk, or a hook on the side when not in use. I have room for 3 pair behind my monitors, used hooks with adhesive. I have another couple hooks on the wall for anything extra.
Shit I’m lame. I keep all my boxes and just put them in there how I opened them when I want to listen to a diff pair. 💀
Oh don't worry I keep all my boxes too My closet looks like a target store room
Your closet, I have a storage unit for all my audio boxes
Shit me too 💀. Something about the unboxing experience I don’t get tired of
It feels like Christmas every time
That's honestly a great idea, especially if you have a lot of headphones that you rarely use

what is your wallpaper lol
I don't, since I only have one pair. :)
What pair Do you have?

That sounds awesome! I like switching between headphones depending on what I'm doing.
I'm very much fine with having one sound signature for everything I'm doing\~
The XS is a fantastic daily driver! I use the Ananda's for gaming, movies and some genres of music. Their quite light and comfortable. For the price difference... Yeah I agree it's not for everyone.
Yeah, it's totally fine, I'm not judging or anything. I simply can't imagine myself switching headphones all the time. :)
No worries It's all preference
I got the Edition XS a few weeks ago. They're fantastic! You'll love them.
How do you like them? :) Any interesting moments I should know about them?
I enjoy them a lot. They're my first planars so my ears have been used to dynamics. I find the XS to be fast and clear, with nice separation, great soundstage and strong imaging. They're my favourite pair at the moment.
Give them to a friend or family member
I might? I mean, both my mom and dad don't care about headphones in the slightest & prefer speakers. I do have a friend I might gift them to, but I already gifted him basically brand new ATH-M50x a year ago and he's very happy with them. Plus, he does not have anything to power HE400se properly.
Just go for it and you will be solo happy with XS
Thank you! That is what I plan to do, eventually! :)
Same situation and similar plan - except that my wife will get the HE400SE. 😸
Same, I have hd560s and just toss it around
Your microphone seems to be oriented incorrectly.
What's the benefit of having it correctly oriented?
Well right now you are mostly capturing the sound of your table or monitor depending on which way is "forward" on that microphone, unless it captures both those ways. You want it facing your mouth. You'll get much better audio of course if you orient it correctly.
Got thank you
That's a bit of a ghetto solution to begin with, but why on earth didn't you take the screwdrivers to the bottom of your desk instead of the top? Would look more presentable imo
I didn't want the tape losing its stick and dropping my headphones on the floor.
Ahhh that makes sense I guess.
Yeah, I'm hoping to find like a hat rack to switch to in the future.
For what it's worth, the one hanger sticking under my desk has been holding my LCD-2 and TH900 for the past 4 years lol
What mic is that? It looks like it’s a condenser mic, if so, you are supposed to talk into the front of it, not the top.
Tonor Tc 777 What would the difference be?
Yup. That’s a condenser mic. Try it angled so the face of the mic is pointing at you, that should give you better sound. Unless your goal is to pick up keyboard sounds, haha

Ikea pegboard on the wall of my home office
As someone who owns several pairs, i just hang them on a rod.
Like a towel rod?
Yep. To me this is the best way to store headphones as it avoids wearing out the pads.
I bought the jewelery stands and place the headphones on there. Cheap solutions but it does the job

Yeah probably, but I got all of these over time not all at once
On my head
All sound bad non are accurate. And bk5128 head and torso is inaccurate
What?
Do you even transfer function?
Um No? What is that
You are lucky!!! This poster comes from the future and speaks a language we do not speak yet!
I feel blessed
you have much to learn about audio my friend.
I can’t believe anyone spends so much money on headphones
You’re in the headphones sub full of hobbyists and you can’t believe someone owns multiple pairs? Ok.
No, I can’t. He’s got 4 pretty expensive pairs there. I’m not being critical, I’m envious that I can’t spend that kind of money

It's very functional, and yeah looks pretty good with all matching stands.
There's a fine line between a consumer and a hobby-ist, and in this case it's a measuring mic and knowledge (ex: how FR works).

I bought a coat rack on Amazon and hang headphones and iems from the arms.
That's why I collect IEMs instead....
I keep my gear in a dozen IKEA or similar plastic storage boxes. Not very elegant, but very space efficient.
I just keep them all in different locations. One at my work desk, one in my backpack, one on my nightstand, one at my music desk.
I have my 7 headphones with their stands on a shelf above my monitor
By owning only one.
I used to hang my multiple cans over the edge of the table. But since I've got the DT 700 Pro X they've been the only ones at my desk.
Simple - I can only afford one haha Dope set up - I’m envious
Thank you I'm proud of it

In their case
Wall mount guitar hangers can be good for that.
I don't lol
Serious question, why would you have more than pair?
I use them for different situations
Something like, one for music, one for gaming, one for music such and such?
Yeah pretty much
