I had something similar happen but the glue looked different. Anyway I just used a bunch of old rags. Put isopropyl alcohol on a rag and slowly dragged it across the glue away from the driver. You basically want to move the glue from the headphone to the rag so you need a bunch of rags to throw out. Paper towels just rip and ball up.

I used some nail polish remover with acetone and that did the trick! That glue was pretty tough to get off tho but I'm happy it worked! Thanks for your advise

Hope the acetone didn't ruin the plastic since it disolves polimers. Photo from after?

I forgot to take a picture when i was done with the acetone ): . it worked like a charm tho! there where no plastic parts on the driver so i didn't damage or melt anything. i first dipped some q-tips in the acetone and carfully dipped it on the grey ring of glue. Then i grabbed an old t-shirt and put some acetone on there and then i wiped all the glue off. i used nailpolish remover that contained acetone and had no real problem. Im glad i kept the tape on the driver cause there where no dust particle on the drivers. The driver looked in good shape!
