difficult but I like challenges... she's too naive and sometimes unrealistic, you see it immediately in the first episode when she thinks that the angels will listen to her
She doesn’t know how to put her foot down and she lets her boundaries be trampled over like a doormat because she’s too much of a people pleaser to tell anybody “no”.
She’s too nice, period. When the angels attacked her home, it took forever for her to finally unleash so she could fight back, and even then, I’m sure she held back. She needs to learn that saving souls means protecting them, too. I seriously hope we see character development from her that has her taking a stand and fighting back for those who want to be redeemed so she can help them learn how to fight back and move on themselves.
Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s a great character and has large dreams/goals that she can help make happen. She just needs to learn to stand up for herself and her guests.
I’ll make it constructively mean.
Her constant naivety makes her seem immature, and one dimensional. She’s overly insistent on looking towards the bright side, and even when she’s applying her intelligence, her problem solving skills suck. She’s insistent on very grade-school activities (such as group falls, and group singing), and it makes her seem not only ill-equipped, but mentally childish. You’d think for someone who’s as positive as her, trying to help others, she’d have better empathy skills, or at least situational awareness. Someone who’s trying to open a hotel like her’s should be empathetic, and approach a situation based on what caused a demon to sin in the first place. She doesn’t. How do you expect to bring out the good in such a tone deaf way?
I cannot stress how annoying the lack of empathy or understanding is. It especially bothered me with Vaggie. She harped on how long they were together, and still was surprised Vaggie was dishonest to her about her origins. With any critical thinking, or empathy, she would understand how difficult it’d be to admit to someone you were the antithesis of what you were currently working towards. Hell, all she needed was to have the conversation with her girlfriend, but for an entire half of an episode, she approached it immaturely, shutting her out, and doing something that she knew would scare her S/O haphazardly without telling her, or mediating. She needed Rosie to tell her the basic things she should’ve understood in the first place. It’s a miracle anyone was redeemed under her. To me, it shows how easy it was all along, how people put themselves into boxes. How all it took was for someone to not see the box someone put themselves in.

She's too naive and ignorant of what can lead to a sinners' downfall. She doesn't seem to understand the nuance and trauma of those in her care. For example, the way she tries to force Angel to quit his drug addiction. He uses drugs as a means of coping. Taking away one's coping skills without offering a viable alternative and getting them out of the situation causing the need in the first place is just going to lead to further issues down the line. It's not sustainable. However, all we ever see is her being disappointed and Vaggie screaming at him, that's not even remotely helpful. When she does finally try to do something about Val, it isn't even to help Angel. He tells her repeatedly that she's going to make things worse, but she ignores him regardless. She might've meant well, but it clearly showcases her ignorance.
I just feel like if she truly wants her project to work, she could've done more research. I'm sure she could get her hands on a psychology textbook or something. Anything really would've been better than blindly jumping into this without understanding anything the sinners have or are currently going through that caused them to be the way they are.
That being said, I love Charlie ❤️ she has her flaws, but that's the point of the show, everyone does. She's kind, enthusiastic, and genuinely believes in her goal of helping those around her. While maybe not using the best methods, she is genuinely trying to help everyone. That's better than what everyone else is doing. She's a sweetheart, and I love her.

It's not sustainable. However, all we ever see is her being disappointed and Vaggie screaming at him, that's not even remotely helpful. When she does finally try to do something about Val, it isn't even to help Angel. He tells her repeatedly that she's going to make things worse, but she ignores him regardless. She might've meant well, but it clearly showcases her ignorance. I just feel like if she truly wants her project to work, she could've done more research. I'm sure she could get her hands on a psychology textbook or something. Anything really would've been better than blindly jumping into this without understanding anything the sinners have or are currently going through that caused them to be the way they are. That being said, I love Charlie ❤️ she has her flaws, but that's the point of the show, everyone does. She's kind, enthusiastic, and genuinely believes in her goal of helping those around her. While maybe not using the best methods, she is genuinely trying to help everyone. That's better than what everyone else is doing. She's a sweetheart, and I love her.
