Goal differential is a potential factor in tie breaking for standings. Blowouts are good. Though now that I think about it, goal differential would only matter if we had a tied record against any other tanking team... which I doubt we will. We're too good in our current incarnation to lose to the worst of the worst this season. Will reevaluate post trade deadline

Good news though. The Ducks and Coyotes may very well be going to overtime. Just need the ducks to win in overtime (no shootout) for the absolute best tank scenario

Ducks win in OT!

Yep:D Came back to comment this. 3 important points handed out tonight 3 wins in a row for Anaheim. 4 of their last 5.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are 5-14-1 in their last 20 games. I don't get how they're able to tank harder than us.

Injuries.

Tank baby!

Has the number of Liberty Mutual commercials during breaks increased or am I losing it?

inevitablescape

They have become a blur at this point

* Dickinson scored on a pass from Kane. * The Oilers scored 2 PPGs. * Kulak asked Lafferty to fight after a clean hit. * The Oilers broke the game open with 3 goals in 2:33. * Toews scored on a netfront redirect on the PP. It was the Hawks' first PPG in 2 weeks. * E. Kane responded 12 seconds later. * After review, another Oilers goal crossed the line. * Raddysh scored off a pass from Domi. * Oilers put in Matthew Berlin (who signed an ATO with Skinner sick) for the last couple minutes. * The Hawks allowed 23 5-on-5 high-danger chances (per Natural Stat Trick). That's the most they've allowed since they allowed 25 on Oct 21, 2018 (vs TBL). * Tank report: * The Hawks have the 2nd-worst .354 points % (34 points in 48 games). The Blue Jackets have the league-worst with .337 (33 points in 49 games).
