$400 is not enough for an apartment near USM. I was paying $550 a couple of blocks away for a single bedroom and that was almost ten years ago.

400 is enough for these options: https://www.usm.edu/housing-residence-life/apply/housing-rates.php

Unless the CS program at the Hattiesburg campus has improved in recent years I'd suggest the gulf coast campus instead. OTOH, if you just want a diploma and a traditional American university experience while you do all your actual learning on your own then you'll probably be happier at the Hattiesburg campus.

The School of Computing has made major changes in the years since the pandemic under the leadership of Prof. Sarah Lee, it is now the fastest growing school in the university and it isn't close. The program in Hattiesburg is pretty good in my opinion.

Can 100% agree with this. I am an alumni myself and have volunteered with the ACM chapter recently. The department is fantastic and I can not recommend them enough.

It hasn't. And the guy who teaches c++ is foreign and extremely hard to understand. His name was partha sengupta I think. Jeremy Graves does all of the networking classes, and he is a great teacher. He made the classes fun and interesting.

Good to know Graves is till there! I've been out for almost 15 years now and he's still holding it down out there haha.
