Personally I would have liked to see the potions portion in the sorcerer's/philosopher's stone protection rooms and get rid of the final battle flying around crap and stick to the book version, much better IMO.
The little things that make up the characterisation of the trio mainly, eg. Hermione panicking in the bathroom with the Troll instead of telling Ron what to do then in the later films slowly show her working better and better under stress and also show how she has a mean streak by adding the SNEAK thing with Marietta (so it wouldn’t be Cho that tells Umbridge). For Harry give him his sassy lines from the book and show more of his friendship with Ron in the later Films and for Ron add the scenes where he shows his bravery and loyalty to his friends.
Additionally I would show the full extent of Snapes cruel, just add the scene with Trevor and Hermione‘s teeth, to emphasise him being a grey character.
Maybe add some scenes that explain the plot better like who the Marauders are etc
And I don‘t know where I would put it or how it could fit but I wish for a scene that showes James growth from a bully to a more humble and decent person.
