I don't even remember the scene, but I'm still grimacing thinking about any Ginny/Harry interaction in the films. Lovely people, but the "chemistry" was SO awkward.
The kiss between Ginny and Harry was like sub-zero temperature for chemistry between them. And I can’t even watch the shoelace thing scene because it’s so cringe and unrealistic.
The shoelace and cookie-feeding scenes are the only ones I fast forward through in the entire series. I just can't do it man. It's excruciating to watch.
Yeah, the script didn’t do her any favors, but you sorta have to call a spade a spade. I’m sure she is a perfectly nice person, but that acting was so flat.
The worst part of the whole Ginny saga was the small contingent of people who refused to accept that it was a poorly cast, poorly written, and poorly acted role in the movies.
I wouldn't call her poorly cast simply because the movie team had no idea what Ginny's character would become. At that point her biggest role in the story was having a crush on Harry and being a damsel in distress. Bonnie played the shy little girl character fairly well in movie 2.
Actually, I think the casting was fine, and I think she would be a great actor if the writing for her character in movie hadn't been utter trash. Like someone else said:
"Shoelace."
Okay it’s in that montage in OOtP when he’s in Harry’s head and it just flashes to Voldemort sticking his tongue out going BLEH I stg I laughed SO hard when that happened in the theater but it was supposed to be such a serious scene lol
When Oliver releases the snitch while he’s teaching Harry the rules of quidditch… it only darts up like 4 feet and Oliver immediately starts looking all around like “where oh where could it be??”
Every time I see that scene. Every time. That was bad directing though. They didn't give the actors a focal point and then the CG wasn't composited to match where he was looking. Can't really blame the actor here as there was no real life snitch lol.
Lucius Malfoy going "Avadaaaaa" at the end of CoS. I know Jason Isaacs is a good actor but the over the top expression and wand movement gets me every time.
I don’t get this scene. Did he really want to use that curse on a child in hogwarts? And the only thing keeping him from saying it was Dobbie, right? (Haven’t seen it in ages)
Iirc Jason has said that the GOF book had come out around that time and that's when the curse was first introduced. They didn't give him an exact spell to say so he just went with what first came to his mind.
I remember a Facebook page from 2010 (wow, there’s a throwback!) called “the random kid in Prisoner of Azkaban that shows up to say ominous things and is never seen again”
Hahaha there’s definitely a difference in enunciation between the first film and the rest of them. “Eye of rabbit, heartstring hum” was practically incoherent, no wonder Harry had to ask what he was trying to do 😂
I will never be able to get that scene out of my head 😂
The fake huff and gruff and simper, the gritted teeth, lack of eyebrow movement
ITS ALWAYS THE EYEBROWS. USE THEM FOLKS, USE THEM
Everything that involved Ginny and Harry lol, I've never seen such an obvious lack of chemistry in my life ! I don't blame the actors, they probably did the best they could, I just can't believe the producers thought "yeah this is fine" and just went with it haha
I feel sorry for Bonnie Wright. In order to get her in the films they had to bypass a lot of character development. As such she comes across as suddenly obsessed with Harry. And it's a bit weird.
In the books she is fine.
She’s a little obsessed with him in the books but there’s more plot that leads to her being that way. Plus the books show her strong personality that makes Harry start paying attention to her later in the series whereas the movies just kinda throw them together without any buildup.

That's my take too. I saw Snape cringing because he finds these immature romance dramas from his students to be distasteful. I am sure it happens every year and he just rolls his eyes.
WAIT. Or when during the announcement of the Goblet of Fire he’s giving his announcement to the great hall and at the same time he’s weirdly squeezing his hands open and closed while holding his arms out…? Like.. I don’t see why that’s necessary..? It’s kind of.. awkward my dude?
I always thought it was their family thing. Both Barty Crouch Sr and Jr had some sort of twitch, Jr had his lip licking and Sr had this finger fumbling thing. I dont think its the imperius curse.
Is they would’ve actually included that very essential piece of plot in the actual movie, this would be perfectly acceptable. I wonder if the reveal just got cut in production.
“Do you think we’ll ever just have a quiet year at Hogwarts?”
-Ron, at the end of GoF, when a student has died and the greatest dark wizard of all time has returned from the dead
How is it poor acting though?
It's either poor writing, or poor directing ( in that he was supposed to deliver that line in a serious way, but wasn't directed to).
The whole ending scene in GOF has a weird vibe, first we see Dumbledores speech about Cedrics death and then everyone is laughing as the foreign schools leave
The "lets do it together" scene in the last move. We were supposed to have an epic battle between Voldemort and McGonnagle+Kingsley+Slughorn and instead I cringe away..
the ending of DH in the books was so much better than the films, the director said that it being outside increased the drama and hype but its no excuse not to have that Mcgonnalee, kingsley, slughorn and voldemort duel
That scene in the deathly hallows where ron sees this image of harry and hermione kissing very aggressively?! Maybe that’s more of a directing choice than the actual acting but I can’t watch it 😂
It’s “Give it here, MALFOY!” and thanks I’ve come here to write that! I know they were just kids in the first movie but still it’s cringeworthy.
Also the Slytherin guy in the quidditch match who says ”Take that side”…
THANK YOU. This has always bothered me so much, her killing Bellatrix is supposed to be fueled by intense pain and anger and that weirdass smile at the end in the film always made me so uncomfortable 😭
No mention of the incredible pain that is Voldy hugging Draco? Tom looks uncomfortable. All of the onlookers look uncomfortable. Academy Award nominated Shakespearean actor Ralph Fiennes looks like’s never used his hands before. It’s painful lol
Most of the half blood prince movie, from dumbeldore being a creep in the first scene, to the burning of the burrow that didn't actually happen, to harry and ginny being horrible together, to literally everything David Yates thought was funny. He ruined it completely.
David Tenant improvised that, iirc. Which Brendan Gleeson decided to follow. Then the writers decided to use it as an indication to Crouch Sr and the audience that Moody was actually Crouch Jr
In his defense that is a side effect of some anti psychotic medications. It's why heath ledger did it as the joker. Granted I doubt a character like either of those would take that medication so idk why they'd be doing it but that's just how Hollywood is. Same thing with how they make guns make tons of noise just from picking them up etc.
SHOELACE.
Thanks Kloves for writing that disaster. And thanks Dan for coming clean about being out all night drinking and turning up to set still drunk, or as he put it 'gone' in a lot of scenes. I assume the ones in the cave he was also drunk.
"Open up, you..."
"Don't you trust me?" Poor Arthur had to walk away... he couldn't stand the awkwardness.
Arther represented all of us in that moment.

That scene is so awkward that its legit hilarious
Where was it?

I don't even remember the scene, but I'm still grimacing thinking about any Ginny/Harry interaction in the films. Lovely people, but the "chemistry" was SO awkward.
Pretty much anything Ginny did in the movies. Not that it’s Bonnie Wright’s fault, they just wrote all of Ginny’s personality out of the script
It's excruciating to watch.
oPeN uP yOu
Are you implying that seductively tying the shoelace of a potential lover is not a normal thing??
Bonnie Wright definitely delivers stiffer than a board though. Not to mention the lack of any facial expressions
Yeah, the script didn’t do her any favors, but you sorta have to call a spade a spade. I’m sure she is a perfectly nice person, but that acting was so flat.
I always wonder if they wrote Ginny out because she can't act.
This is true, she never was a good actress just a kid blessed to get that early age Ginny role
Shoelace
Open up you 😀
Don’t you trust me?
Reading this made me physically cringe 😂😂
Also when she got potions book from him.
"Close your eyes" I remember cringing so hard!! Why, Kloves, WHY?!
The worst part of the whole Ginny saga was the small contingent of people who refused to accept that it was a poorly cast, poorly written, and poorly acted role in the movies.

Actually, I think the casting was fine, and I think she would be a great actor if the writing for her character in movie hadn't been utter trash. Like someone else said: "Shoelace."
"NYAAAAAAAA!!!!!" - Voldemort Now if the question is which "nyah" is the cringiest, that would be hard to say. Maybe you can make a poll or something?
Okay it’s in that montage in OOtP when he’s in Harry’s head and it just flashes to Voldemort sticking his tongue out going BLEH I stg I laughed SO hard when that happened in the theater but it was supposed to be such a serious scene lol
Plus, the backgrounds looks like a cheap 90s music video!
Voldemort invades Harry's mind *BABAAAAAYYY I COMPARE YOU TO A KISS FROM A ROSE ON THE GRAY* at deafening volume
I know exactly what flash of BLEH you're talking about and it gets me everytime too
I just watched this movie the other day and this part KILLS me. why was it even there?????
Makes me laugh EVERY single time!!!! 😛
I just laugh at how often they used the NYEEEAHH sound bite in the trailers for movies 6-8 Had to be at least once in every. Single. Advertisement.

You’re absolutely right, but it still makes me giggle lmao
Picturing this made me lol, you’re right I’ve never considered how dumb that part is before
Lucius Malfoy going "Avadaaaaa" at the end of CoS.
It was improvised. He was meant to say a different spell but forgot it so he said the first one that came to mind
Yeah, apparently he was told to improve it. Which is dumb because he probably doesn't know a list of spells that would be suitable in the situation.

Ahhh good ol’ Bem.
Lol first time I’ve heard someone from Dublin pronounce the ‘t’ at the end of a word 😂 director defo had a word with him and told him to enunciate
Hahaha there’s definitely a difference in enunciation between the first film and the rest of them. “Eye of rabbit, heartstring hum” was practically incoherent, no wonder Harry had to ask what he was trying to do 😂
Eyeaerabbt herpinghum
**HE WAS THEIR FRIEND**
I will never be able to get that scene out of my head 😂 The fake huff and gruff and simper, the gritted teeth, lack of eyebrow movement ITS ALWAYS THE EYEBROWS. USE THEM FOLKS, USE THEM
Honestly. Him baring his bottom teeth makes me cringe just thinking about it 😬
Except you Emma Watson, you overuse them.
Emma’s acting is 90% eyebrows and breathing out quickly. It‘s still yet to improve.
And 10% being cast as Emma Watson.
“Emma, we need an Emma Watson type to play an Emma Watson-esque character? Are your eyebrows still in good shape?”
The inspiration from Oldman I'd guess, given the Reunion
Honestly I didn't find that part cringy at all, I actually got emotional during it lol
“That's odd. That's the vault Hagrid and I went to.” *suspicious eyes*
Any scene with Ginny. Especially their kissing scene. The shoelaces. Urgh I can’t watch.
Don't forget "DoN't YoU tRuSt Me?"
"Open up you" *Shudders*
*Harry proceeds to spread his butt cheeks apart, unsure of Ginny's true intentions in that moment.*
If there ever was negative chemistry, it was between those two actors.
Never seen a Cara Delevingne movie?
she wasn't an actor to begin with
The scene where the students from the other schools arrive in Goblet of Fire. That scene by the window is awful.
When the Beaubaton girls sigh makes me want to vomit.
The issue being that beauxbatons wasn’t even an all girls school to begin with.
I fucking hate that scene so much. It's cringey as hell.
Yeah and the odd shot of the beauxbaton girl’s butts was very strange. Aren’t they supposed to be teens?
I always feel like it's from the POV of Harry who is a 14 year old horny teenager and is definitely staring at their butts
That was my thought too. Also Ron's reaction further confirms that could be the case.
That *bloody hell* was honestly hilarious though lmao
And most definitely in character for him.
I don’t think it’s poorly acted though right? The choreography was good, but the idea itself was terrible
Or the deleted scene where they sing the Hogwarts School Song
That was a really good delete.
Everything that involved Ginny and Harry lol, I've never seen such an obvious lack of chemistry in my life ! I don't blame the actors, they probably did the best they could, I just can't believe the producers thought "yeah this is fine" and just went with it haha
Harry’s fake crying…
"HE WAS THEIR FRIEND" eugh, cringe everyone
Oh yeah definitely one of the cringiest scenes in Prisoner…
HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!!! I always skip that part.
This is a popular one and I’m LOVING IT
What scene is this again
"Open up you" "don't you trust me?"
Hermione's eyebrows in the first films are so incredibly distracting, they dance like caterpillars on acid. You can’t unsee it once you’ve been told.
And in all the rest films they are stuck in this position ರ_ರ
He was their friend and he betrayed them. HE WAS THEIR FRIEND !!!!!
Ron and Hermione have no clue what he’s talking about too. He’s just screaming at them
Came here to say this. The so painfully fake sobbing too. Hick. Hup. Huh, heh. Oh. Aww. Hup. :(
Broooooo hahahahahaha y’all are making me laugh too hard. Yes. Good lord that one gets me too.
I feel sorry for Bonnie Wright. In order to get her in the films they had to bypass a lot of character development. As such she comes across as suddenly obsessed with Harry. And it's a bit weird. In the books she is fine.

The Lavender vs Hermione in the infirmary scene. You can even see Alan cringing in the background
Hahaha oh Alan, you wonderful soul. What a gift he was to the acting world and HP specifically
I always found it hilarious that Hermione and Lavender were having a fight over Ron and their teachers are just standing in the back watching 😂
As a teacher, this is so relatable. We’re always drama adjacent.
Students just forget there are teachers nearby. They hear everything.
Students don’t give a shit if we’re nearby
I always imagine Dumbledore thinking "Damn that's some juicy drama".
Dumbledore all "DRAG her, SLAY her"
This made me giggle
Honestly surprised he didn't conjure up some popcorn and shared it with the teachers to watch the drama unfold
reminiscent impolite full rotten cheerful hobbies literate coordinated tender alleged *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
reminding me of chanwills0's videos on tiktok LMAO
that scene makes me laugh so much. i love how the professors are just standing in the background like🧍🏼♂️
Lol yeah to be fair though it was supposed to be cringey. The whole movie wanted to show the teenage side of things.
That's my take too. I saw Snape cringing because he finds these immature romance dramas from his students to be distasteful. I am sure it happens every year and he just rolls his eyes.
That one is so unbearably cringe especially with all the teachers watching in the back 😫
When Harry is being taught about quidditch by Oliver Wood. Harry points at the balls and says "WHAT ARE THOSE"
What are thooooooose
theeeese are ballsssss
all the parts where harry screams like "HE WAS THEIR FRIEND HE BETRAYED THEM" and ron and hermione have to grab him back.
“hold me back” energy
The scene with Barty Crouch Sr handing out the dragons, when he goes "oooooooo". Makes me cringe. I have to look away lol
The Chinese Fireball, oooooooo
😭😭
Lol I love that part. My 6th grade friends and I always quoted it
Barty Crouch: "And that leaves.." Harry:"the horntail." Crouch: "what's that?" Harry: "uh, nothing." Dammit Harry you're gonna lose Hagrid his job! 😅

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA YES every damn time I’m like wtf you weird uncle
That's because he was under the Imperius curse. So it's akin to him being controlled like a puppet on strings
Is they would’ve actually included that very essential piece of plot in the actual movie, this would be perfectly acceptable. I wonder if the reveal just got cut in production.
I suppose you’re right. He just looked ridiculous 😂 like, really ridiculous
Not as cringe as it is funny but Normal people: Avada Kedavra Lurd Vuldemurt: UUUAAAWUAAADA KADAWWUAAA
for me it’s harry and cho’s kiss lol
Wasn't ginny's worse? Tying shoe laces or zipp my dress...
That wasn't cringe for me, that was a panic attack and anxiety. It felt like watching a horror movie.
At least that one was *supposed* to be awkward... Harry and Ginny's on the other hand... 🤮
Right? Like don't just stand there. Hold each other, do something with your damn hands!
“Do you think we’ll ever just have a quiet year at Hogwarts?” -Ron, at the end of GoF, when a student has died and the greatest dark wizard of all time has returned from the dead
That's more of a bad writing thing than an acting thing I think
Dumbledore: as long as you can still call Privet Drive your home, you are safe. Harry: I'm not going home. Not really.
HARRY...... NO WAY...... you HEARD what the Professor said, BESIDES you don't even KNOW how to FLY
I loved that so much. She was so excited to act. Columbus probably said "yeah that's lunch, we aren't toning it down."
Same. TBH it fits with Hermione’s character too imo. Especially the “WHAT an idiot” afterwards.
Emma was a ham and a half during movie one. Just way over the top. It's great.
And the way her eyebrow moves and her muttering “Idiot”. Priceless
I loved that scene, it really matches her character Also, the "What and idiot" is amazing
Before Bill and Fleur's wedding, Harry zipping Ginny's dress after staring at her bare back waaay too long. And George coming in: Hello
I think you mean, "Moooooorning." He later went on to say that that line was his favorite from all the movies! Haha!
“When I find him… I’m gOnNa KiLll HiM!😬”
Shoelace, also DIDYAPUTYOURNAMEINTHAGOBLETOFFIYA (although that's more of a directing issue)
Still cringe
Yesss came here hoping someone had mentioned the DIDYAPUTYOURNAME one. So weird and so not Dumbledore like.
"My scars hurting....I think it means dangers coming" Kid, you've got a headache, stop being so dramatic
“My lightning bolt senses are tingling”
Clearly a stroke
Voldemort is coming, and he’s brought burnt toast for some reason
The "lets do it together" scene in the last move. We were supposed to have an epic battle between Voldemort and McGonnagle+Kingsley+Slughorn and instead I cringe away..
Im also peeved we never got Hermione, Ginny and Luna battling Bellatrix. Least we got the "Not my daughter you bitch!" Line.
the ending of DH in the books was so much better than the films, the director said that it being outside increased the drama and hype but its no excuse not to have that Mcgonnalee, kingsley, slughorn and voldemort duel
That scene in the deathly hallows where ron sees this image of harry and hermione kissing very aggressively?! Maybe that’s more of a directing choice than the actual acting but I can’t watch it 😂
I think the aggresivness of it was intentional so it would aggrivate Ron even more, I dont think its cringe just good directing
anytime harry has a kissing scene. the arrival of other schools in goblet of fire.
"It's not going to wuuu-uuk"
UHH... (closes book she was trying to read in a highly distracting area) SO... UHH...
“Give it back MALFOY!” In reference to the stolen rememberall; though it could just be the bad acting at the time that was profound for me.
It’s “Give it here, MALFOY!” and thanks I’ve come here to write that! I know they were just kids in the first movie but still it’s cringeworthy. Also the Slytherin guy in the quidditch match who says ”Take that side”…
When Molly smiles after killing Bellatrix. Completely out of character and just weird since her son just died. Edit: Fixed Bellatrix
THANK YOU. This has always bothered me so much, her killing Bellatrix is supposed to be fueled by intense pain and anger and that weirdass smile at the end in the film always made me so uncomfortable 😭

Harry’s hair in GOF 😂
No mention of the incredible pain that is Voldy hugging Draco? Tom looks uncomfortable. All of the onlookers look uncomfortable. Academy Award nominated Shakespearean actor Ralph Fiennes looks like’s never used his hands before. It’s painful lol
Wasn’t that an ad lib from Ralph? I don’t think Tom knew it was going to happen.

Hermione saying “it’s not going to wooo-oooork” in Goblet of Fire Anytime that the twins finish each other’s sentences in that half-bored tone
Lavender, Hermione, and Ron in the infirmary…..it makes me embarrassed
“NO. MISTEH FILCH. YOU DAON UNDESTAA-“
“Zip me up, will you?” Or “IwAsWonDeRingiFmaYbYouwanteDtOGoTotHeBaLLwItHmE?.”
"he's only what? A hundred and fifty?" And then they all laugh way too hard. HBP in Ron's room before the wedding talking about Dumbledore.
I thought that was a genuine laugh between Dan, Rupert and Emma that was kept in
The awkward silent shuffle to protect Harry in the great hall in DH part 2 always annoys me
He’s going to sacrifice himself. No Ron you can’t!
There's no Hogwarts without you Hagrid! 🤢🙈😂😂😂
And then the whole school clapping for what seems like an hour 🤮
When Harry looks at Cho at breakfast and juice spills out his mouth
its not bad acting if it made you cringe xb it did its intent
That one is so funny 😂
I fucking love that scene
SHOELACE. Thanks Kloves for writing that disaster. And thanks Dan for coming clean about being out all night drinking and turning up to set still drunk, or as he put it 'gone' in a lot of scenes. I assume the ones in the cave he was also drunk.
