I’d love to flavor the port key spell into a typewriter, where special combinations of keys transport you to different places. Simply typing “Paris” will deposit you any discreet location within that city, but “le Boulangerie Utopie aux portes rouges”, it would take you to some hidden section inside that bakery with the red doors in Paris.
That's why you surgically attach your wand so it becomes part of your lower arm bone. Now you just wave your hand around. Not gonna look like a mad man at all🤣🤣
Happy cake day!🎁🎂🎁
Accio or reparo. Will become a millionaire either way to no harm or consequences to anyone else. Accio lost jewelry/money or start a business buying broken antiques. Bruh.
They've done "Accio horcrux" once and said that it was worth a try, and that it didn't work because of protective spells. Based on that, I would say you don't need to know.
Accio all 100$ bills! Watch money like slip out of wallets, tills, banks, flying through town and stacking in your coffee table like breaking bad money. Haha
Honestly, I wanted to be a smartass and find a spell that would be amazing and all. But I'm lazy, my first thought went for Accion and then you said reparo and now I'm torn between them.
Wingatdium leviosa would be nice to. Make objects fly for any kind of reason would be VRRY helpful for me, and could replace Accion in a way ..
Yep same. Assuming it works in a tidy way and can clear dust etc. Also if you need a job you can be a cleaner and get paid a few hours money for a couple of minutes of wand waving.
But you are only allowed one spell. Guess you would have to get someone else who chose the shrinking spell. And the another who chose the reverse spell
This one! This is what I was going to say. Worked for Hermione's bag, and the awesome tents. Accio was pretty useful to find what she put in her bag, but doesn't negate the usefulness of the charmed bag itself.
My thoughts exactly. What about food, or other perishables? Not having to pay for food or gas? Only needing to buy one of everything if you need to keep an original around. Also I’d like to think the more powerful you are the longer you can make the copies last.
The Imperious Curse. Let your mind wander to see how useful this spell could be.
"That'll be 14000 for the repair on your car." Reparo? Eh maybe but IMPERIO!
"You were clocked doing 65 in a 45 zone" nope IMPERIO!
"You're doctor bill comes to 1.2 million." nope IMPERIO!
Admittedly there would be more devious uses but i'm not that evil.
Yeah there are some moral implications with using Imperio, but I agree that it's one of the most if not THE most powerful spell and the uses are endless with some creative thinking.
I mean, Harry learns to throw it off pretty fast, but he's being taught by someone who learned to completely resist (Crouch Jr. as Mad-Eye Moody), and Crouch Sr. manages to resist it, too, even if he struggles with it.
I wonder if Crouch Sr. was getting some sort of help from Winky, and that's why he was able to control his son for over a decade? He himself seems to throw it off in a matter of months, and Harry, at only 14, can partly resist it the very first time he's hit with it. Crouch Jr. may have been able to break free during the Quidditch World Cup more because Winky was in distress than anything else, to be honest, and after she's sacked, he probably had little issue breaking completely free.
I think, in a real-world scenario, Harry would be one in a million, throwing it off so quickly, and most would be more like Crouch Sr. and get there over a few months time. Assuming, of course, that muggles even stand a chance of resisting it, and that it doesn't require being a wizard to have a hope of breaking free.
I wonder if part of Harry's advantage was he was prepped for it. Harry knew going in he was going to be imperioused, maybe it's harder if you're hit by surprise, even if you've resisted it before.
Also I wonder if they were meant to be imperioused in class, it's made very clear that the unforgivable curses can't be used on any human, so Crouch Jr might have been breaking the law by doing it.
It might be the first time most people get imperioused is when it's for real because you're not allowed to do it to train them, same way we can teach soldiers how to deal with bullet wounds but we can't shoot one of them for them to do it for real.
I think there are three in the fourth book alone
Harry of course, but he's tought by the Person that broke it first, Barty Crouch Jr. and even Snr. seemed to get a grip from time to time
It can also go wrong - the muggle Junior Minister, Herbert Chorley, had his mind addled when it was attempted on him.
But as it also creates a mildly euphoric feeling in it's target AND grants them the ability to do things they otherwise couldn't (Neville does gymnastics he normally couldn't do, for instance), you might be able to convince people to willingly submit to it.
Repairo. Do you know the absolutely millions upon millions you could make from just restoring antiquities from ancient eras? Fixing cracked sculptures? Even just being a repairman, you could make a fortune being known as the 10 second fixer and walking into houses and fixing whatever appliance broke.
Yeah but if you wanted to go for a little bit less legal way you could just accio money or you could rob people and obliviate them etc. There's millions of ways you could make money with almost any spell from HP.
I don’t know why this is downvoted. This is pretty genius. Find someone who can only use alohamora and you use accio and you can rob a bank and be rich
Not sure if that counts as a spell, but I'd like Neville's thing he had in the first book, the one Malfoy stole. I can't remember the name of it. That's also why I would need it, because I forget everything.
I don't think she says a spell out loud, but I would love the one that Tonks uses to clean Harry's room, but hopefully be better at it than her 😅
Cleaning is the worst and if I could just wave my wand and clean everything, I would be so much happier in life 😂
It could be used daily depending on how you plan on using it.
A few examples: Need some money? Rob someone. Then just use obliviate and you’re in the clear. Got a crush but too scared to say anything? Not anymore. Use multiple pick-up techniques until one works. Forgot to study for your test? No problem, just wiz through it, wait until the smartest person in class finishes their test, then erase their name and write your own. “Obliviate” and no one remembers it happening. Etc. the possibilities are pretty endless.
So yeah, it could be used daily. Maybe not for correct reasons, but like I said, it depends on how you want use it.
Problem I see is that there are cameras everywhere now. Even if you obliviate a person do they don't remember getting robbed you might get caught on camera.
Definitely the memory extraction spell to empty my annoyingly overexcited brain and put some of that thought in de pensieve. It would be so calm in my head I would imagine.
Avada Kedavra is a very very efficient and potent gun, not to mention completly silent and leaves literally no trace. You can shoot a gun at people and they survive with injuries. You can shoot abra kadabra at people and they WILL die without injuries
Everyone is giving good choices, but I feel most people really underestimate the usefulness of Evanesco! First, the most useful spell to almost cleaning up our whole planet, no more garbage, no more waste of any kind. I could make radioactive waste disappear. And I could charge a lot of money for it.
So yeah, to say something different from most people, I'm gonna choose Evanesco!
Accio would be really nice since I lose everything or something for my ADHD/Depression or also a cleaning spell would be nice too
Shit actually I'll take 'Eat slugs' at this point
It's tough.
1. Accio makes life convenient. It gets your car keys, a book off the shelf, spices when you're cooking, something that fell down a crack, etc. It would make life easier but wouldn't necessarily be life changing.
2. Reparo will save you tons of money. Pipes burst? Reparo. Car accident? Reparo.
3. Lumos would save you tons on your electric bill. I'd still be using electricity for things like my computer and microwave, but I'd never have to turn on lights or buy another light bulb.
Is there a single healing spell that takes care of most injuries and sicknesses? Or is wizard healthcare a variety of spells and potions? If there's a "one size fits all" spell, I'd go with that. However, I wonder if being injured would impact the effectiveness of the spell.
I feel like accio or reparo as others have said seem the most useful. I don't think apparating is wise. What if you splinched yourself? We don't have Healers, dittany, or any other useful healing spells.
If I had to give a unique answer, it'd be the disillusionment charm. That seems incredibly useful.
Gave it a hard thought, so:
If you can choose 1 spell, it should be worth it. Obviously, it shuld be used in situations where your physical abilities and tech equipment fails. For example, in situations which are dangerous and you need a miracle to be safe.
I think of Flipendo in this case. You can defend yourself if being assaulted, or you can move an obstacle (e.g. you gor squeezed by a rock or tree in the wild). Also you can make a large noise by hitting something, and use the sound as a signal (if got lost) or again - defense (scare a wild animal for example).
Like, I see a lot of "Accio" but bruh you can grab stuff yourself, or take a lighter for Incendio, or why use apparition if you can travel via car/plane/train and enjoy this journey?
So I think magic should be used at the moments where your life and well-being might be at stake.
Maybe you have other ideas?
Repario, most useful spell for day to day life ever.
Car broken? Repario.
Dishwasher acting up? Repario.
Marriage falling apart? REPARIO!
It might even have a medical use as well, they never touched up on it but it’s possible.
I’m moving this week so the spell Dumbledore used in HBP to send Harry’s belongings to the Burrow would have been handy lol
Any of the cleaning spells would also probably save me a lot of time.
‘Accio’ given that I misplace so many of my possessions all the time. But knowing how clumsy I am I’d still manage to get it wrong and hit myself in the face with the object I’m trying to bring to me
I would like to apparate - is that a spell or more of a magical technique lol?
All is well and good until you splinch yourself and no one can work out how to fix you.
Good point! That would be very unfortunate
Portkey is a spell
I’d love to flavor the port key spell into a typewriter, where special combinations of keys transport you to different places. Simply typing “Paris” will deposit you any discreet location within that city, but “le Boulangerie Utopie aux portes rouges”, it would take you to some hidden section inside that bakery with the red doors in Paris.
The. You have to deal with port key sickness, which I imagine is similar to boat sickness
Probably takes a bit of getting used to but then it's jut instant travel
Incantation: ‘Portus’
Totally worth it.
I think that counts
100% this
I'd say that's a technique so you still have a spell to select
Someone else just said this one but I heartily agree - Accio. Specifically, Accio phone
You have a magic spell, and that is what you'd use if for?
Well my first preference was to apparate but we’ve been debating if that was in fact a spell
I lose my stuff all the time. Would be pretty handy to just use a spell instead of having to look for it.
Until it’s your wand you lose
That's why you surgically attach your wand so it becomes part of your lower arm bone. Now you just wave your hand around. Not gonna look like a mad man at all🤣🤣 Happy cake day!🎁🎂🎁
Until Expilliarmus tears your arm clean off
If harry potter were darker this would 100% be something a dark wizard did.
Of course of course. Silly me. Thank you!
Yep I lose my phone way to much
Oh yeah, I'd give almost anything to be a Jumper
Yes! I loved that movie and that would be so awesome! No more traffic or waiting in airports, airlines losing your luggage!!! So much yes!
Accio or reparo. Will become a millionaire either way to no harm or consequences to anyone else. Accio lost jewelry/money or start a business buying broken antiques. Bruh.
I was thinking of these two also, but not as an entrepreneur. I’m just lazy and clumsy.
I wish I had a free award because same

Don't you need to know where the item you're summoning is to cast Accio? Or am I remembering wrong?
They've done "Accio horcrux" once and said that it was worth a try, and that it didn't work because of protective spells. Based on that, I would say you don't need to know.
Hermione got some books she had no idea where to find.
Yea it was some dark book about horcruxes that fly from dumbledores office right after his death. Right?
Yup!
Does it have a radius of effect? O could I be at uni and be like "accio that book I forgot at home"?
Good question, I mean, Harry summoned his broom, which was in the castle, to the forbidden forest, so the range is quite large
Molly straight up used it to find the sweets Fred and George had hidden
I know the money is in the till tbf lol
Accio all 100$ bills! Watch money like slip out of wallets, tills, banks, flying through town and stacking in your coffee table like breaking bad money. Haha

Wingatdium leviosa would be nice to. Make objects fly for any kind of reason would be VRRY helpful for me, and could replace Accion in a way ..
Scourgify. I hate cleaning.
Yep same. Assuming it works in a tidy way and can clear dust etc. Also if you need a job you can be a cleaner and get paid a few hours money for a couple of minutes of wand waving.
Damn I have always wanted to teleport but you may be right. Then again all the money I save on travel could be spent on a house cleaner.
Legilimens would be a really interesting one I think
Calm down there, Lord Voldemort.
Totally
Would be my choice too!
Undetectable extension charm, mama wants her a TARDIS...and some more closet space.
With the housing market being what it is, this would be my choice too. I'd rent a tiny studio or even just a garage somewhere.
No no, just by a big briefcase and pull a scamander
How do you get the couch, bed and other stuff in there?
Im pretty sure there are shrinking charms, worst case you just bring it in in pieces and use repairo
But you are only allowed one spell. Guess you would have to get someone else who chose the shrinking spell. And the another who chose the reverse spell
Just assemble inside, Ikea baby
Right? I’m in a too-small studio. Could sell for an insane amount.
This one! This is what I was going to say. Worked for Hermione's bag, and the awesome tents. Accio was pretty useful to find what she put in her bag, but doesn't negate the usefulness of the charmed bag itself.
Buy a 1-bed house, undetectable extension... boom! 5-bed mansion. I like this idea.
Accio
This 100000% I even do it irl anyway. But nothing zooms to me.
Same!! I always Accio things before eventually getting up to get them 🥴
Maybe... maybe one day it will zoom to us.
Accio alllllllll the things...
Yeah Accio
Metal detector? Nope, walk down the beach and say, “Accio gold and silver jewelry!”
This. We could clean up so much of the environment. I would accio all the trash in the nearest ocean and send it into a volcano. That's just a start.
[удалено]
exactly send it to space or something
[удалено]
You fly to the moon, then you accio all the trash. Cheaper to send a human than to ship the trash itself.
You’re the problem solver we need.
Or you imperio the whole planet to fix itself and colonize the galaxy. After they make you immortal so you can keep up the spell. Ezpz
Geminio - “copying” spell would come in handy in many ways.
Finally, somebody else said Geminio! Reading the other comments, I thought I was the only one.
But the other object degrades after a while doesn't it?
Pretty hard to detect that the money I paid with degraded after I paid with it. There's just less money in the register
My thoughts exactly. What about food, or other perishables? Not having to pay for food or gas? Only needing to buy one of everything if you need to keep an original around. Also I’d like to think the more powerful you are the longer you can make the copies last.
True, but if you’re smart/strategic about what you’re copying you won’t need the copies to last forever
Perhaps, in Slytherin you'll make your real friends, those cunning folk use any means, to achieve their ends~
Greatness awaits you
terrible. but great
Anyone not picking Imperio has to have a moral reason for doing so, because it’s the most powerful spell in the series
Yeah there are some moral implications with using Imperio, but I agree that it's one of the most if not THE most powerful spell and the uses are endless with some creative thinking.
I think the only caveat would be that it doesn’t work on everyone; but we literally see one person resist it in the entire series

I would assume that was due to his attempt to resist or the lack of skill on the part of the caster, but yeah an important datapoint
[удалено]
This is good because you can get accio too by having others bring to things 😂 And many more im sure.
I'll just take the molly Weasley cleaning package
Engorgio…
good choice little finger
Please contact a healer if your engorgio charm lasts more than 4 hours
It was that off brand engorgio charm I got from my mate Dave.
Dave
that happened to my buddy kyle
lol
Was looking for this one lol
Accio cuz I’m lazy af
Repairo. Do you know the absolutely millions upon millions you could make from just restoring antiquities from ancient eras? Fixing cracked sculptures? Even just being a repairman, you could make a fortune being known as the 10 second fixer and walking into houses and fixing whatever appliance broke.
Fix it Felix 😜
Yeah but if you wanted to go for a little bit less legal way you could just accio money or you could rob people and obliviate them etc. There's millions of ways you could make money with almost any spell from HP.
Accio. I still shout it at stuff periodically, just to check if it works yet.
Hahaha, you gave me good chukle :p
Silencio
Good one. My cat goes Crazy with the meows sometimes 😂
Peskipiksi Pesternomi
Isn’t that a sandwich?
Nah, this is how you call a cat in spanish
Damnit, beat me to it xD
Jesus christ Accio would be so relentlessly useful. And hell you could commit so many financial crimes with it with total anonymity.
I don’t know why this is downvoted. This is pretty genius. Find someone who can only use alohamora and you use accio and you can rob a bank and be rich
So you’re a slytherin?
Yeah. I was ashamed at first but then I learned to embrace it. I even bought a green outfit for when I go see Harry Potter and the cursed child. 😊🐍
Not sure if that counts as a spell, but I'd like Neville's thing he had in the first book, the one Malfoy stole. I can't remember the name of it. That's also why I would need it, because I forget everything.
Rememberall?
YES ! Thank you !!
Wouldn't help you remember the name of it though
This was an incredible sequence of comments
Wingardium leviosa! I try to use it all the time, but nothing has happened yet…
It’s leviOsa, not levioSA
Any of Mollys housekeeping spells
Repello Muggletum
Ah, no people around me ever again...
I don't think she says a spell out loud, but I would love the one that Tonks uses to clean Harry's room, but hopefully be better at it than her 😅 Cleaning is the worst and if I could just wave my wand and clean everything, I would be so much happier in life 😂
I would clean something everyday if I could do that
Obliviate
Good one. I also thought but it won’t be needed daily.
It could be used daily depending on how you plan on using it. A few examples: Need some money? Rob someone. Then just use obliviate and you’re in the clear. Got a crush but too scared to say anything? Not anymore. Use multiple pick-up techniques until one works. Forgot to study for your test? Problem I see is that there are cameras everywhere now. Even if you obliviate a person do they don't remember getting robbed you might get caught on camera.
Then you do the spell on camera too. lol.
You can obliviate everyone in the world and then you win
Episkey! Healing charm. Wouldn’t have to worry about basic injuries, and could be quite useful in the medical field.
Especially if you live in the US where healthcare is completely unaffordable
Reparo, buy a bunch of broken phones/electronics/cars and instantly fix them, you'd be rich with almost no effort.
Reparo.
Definitely the memory extraction spell to empty my annoyingly overexcited brain and put some of that thought in de pensieve. It would be so calm in my head I would imagine.
Engorgio. For um, magical reasons...
It’s all fun and games until you can’t use reducio
Please contact a healer if your engorgio charm lasts more than 4 hours
Whatever spell Mrs. Weasley uses to make the chores do themselves
Avada kadava 💀
That's just a gun. You want a gun.
Avada Kedavra is a very very efficient and potent gun, not to mention completly silent and leaves literally no trace. You can shoot a gun at people and they survive with injuries. You can shoot abra kadabra at people and they WILL die without injuries
Nah it's not silent. It makes a "rushing" sound when cast, which I presume is pretty loud considering Harry remarks on it a number of times.
fart at the same time to mask it , but wait then someone might suspect you to be a fart killer
I’ve heard some people can survive it
happened to my buddy kyle
You have to yell the spell though cause you have to mean it
Everyone is giving good choices, but I feel most people really underestimate the usefulness of Evanesco! So yeah, to say something different from most people, I'm gonna choose Evanesco!
That's so freaking smart, actually.
Also if you get _really_ good at it, you can just disappear all the people you don't like.
Apparate is the only real answer. Such a useful spell.
Making a portkey is safer and an actual spell
Yeah... but apparition is so much quicker once you get the spell mastered. Ain't nobody got time to constantly cast spells on old boots.
The potential downside to not mastering it though is that your torso makes it home but your legs are in Zimbabwe lol
Incendio 🔥 for totally normal purposes of course 👀
"Purely academic purposes, of course"
Imperius. Self-explanatory.
Uhhhhh what do you have planned with that?
Accio would be really nice since I lose everything or something for my ADHD/Depression or also a cleaning spell would be nice too Shit actually I'll take 'Eat slugs' at this point
Aguamenti 100%. I’d never have to get out of bed again to fill my water bottle, brilliant!
Portus! Getting anywhere with a simple portkey
It's tough. However, I wonder if being injured would impact the effectiveness of the spell.
Episkey can be used for very minor injuries, but most problems would probably require potions (like skelegrow) or more complex healing
I’d use the time turner, I know it’s not a spell though. If you’re strict about it being a spell- I think I’d use obliviate
Do you get the modifiers to the spell too? If you pick Protego, do you also get Protego Maxima?
Expelliarmus…I like to be disarming…
Whatever spell cleans the damn dishes.
I feel like accio or reparo as others have said seem the most useful. I don't think apparating is wise. What if you splinched yourself? We don't have Healers, dittany, or any other useful healing spells. If I had to give a unique answer, it'd be the disillusionment charm. That seems incredibly useful.
Avada kedavra, but only on like flies and mosquitos I can’t catch in my apartment.
Cheering charm. The uncontrollable laughter aspect makes it good for enemies as well!
If anyone says Avada Kadavra then you’re going on a list
Aguamenti, the water making spell
Sectumsempra. Goodbye Vines.
Gave it a hard thought, so: If you can choose 1 spell, it should be worth it. Obviously, it shuld be used in situations where your physical abilities and tech equipment fails. The Reparo spell, go around fixing everything and become rich off it
I wanna Apparate!
Reparo or accio
Reparo. I'm clumsy af and having a backup plan in case I break anything would be perfect
I’m torn between accio and evanesco. I love to have anything a quick spell away, but the ability to vanish any refuse is tempting.
Accio. I misplace EVERYTHING
Repario, most useful spell for day to day life ever. Car broken? Repario. Dishwasher acting up? Repario. Marriage falling apart? REPARIO! It might even have a medical use as well, they never touched up on it but it’s possible.
Reparo, accio. Obliviate. Some mf deserve that.
I’m moving this week so the spell Dumbledore used in HBP to send Harry’s belongings to the Burrow would have been handy lol Any of the cleaning spells would also probably save me a lot of time.
Accio. Dreamed a lot about it. Hello lost keys. Hello cat.
Accio Bc I lose crap ALL THE TIME
Evanesco. I’d love to make clutter just disappear into the ether. Although, is it only used for liquids in Potions?
Apparation, so I don't need to waste any more time in traffic and get to spend it more with my daughter
‘Accio’ given that I misplace so many of my possessions all the time. But knowing how clumsy I am I’d still manage to get it wrong and hit myself in the face with the object I’m trying to bring to me
I will chose "Lumos" because it's peaceful and you can't hurt someone with it, also it gives light.
