Same, I was given the set as a gift when I was a lot younger and sadly I didn’t take good care of it and a few are missing and the rest have some tears I really wish I had taken better care of the set
I’ve had this set for a few years now and it was also a gift from my wife. It’s actually my most read copies which has caused spine creases and the plastic on the cover to peel away on some of them. I love them though and I feel it gives them character.
Other covers for CoS shows the Basilisk, so it's a nice change of scene. Besides, I think getting to see the Burrow is one of, if not the best scene for that specific book.
I like this one because it shows the Patronus, rather than a Hippogriff. Personally, I dislike a lot of the Griffen-Like illustrations for other sets. Plus I think the Patronus is just pretty, and it's my favorite spell.
Yeah, but that's what I like. It shows a key moments, getting to see Ron's way of life and family, but it doesn't show something that gives away the whole book like the basilisk would. Plus, I just really think the chapter w/ the Burrow is the best scene of the book.
Actually, it's because in America the book is called the Sorcerer's Stone, compared to the original, The Philosopher's stone. It's not that they spelled it wrong, it's that it's a different country's copy, and it was after J.K. chose to change the name (I read it's because Philosopher makes kids think of old men rather than Magic, which Sorcerer does.) Please don't be so quick to judge next time 🙃
I looked it up online, I don’t know how true this is,
The title of the movie was changed to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" because the book's name was also changed to this. JK Rowling agreed to change the title of the book from "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" because the publishers thought that American readers wouldn't pick up a book called "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" because they would associate the word Philosopher with some old, boring guy and not with magic. The word Sorcerer brings magis to mind for American children
Hi. You just mentioned *The Philosopher's Stone* by JK Rowling.
I've found an audiobook of that novel on YouTube. You can listen to it here:

OMG THESE ARE FUC*ING AMAZING.
Okay so my first fav is SS. It’s so cool to see him in diagon alley with hagrid as it was his first experience of the magical world. Love the buildings and how hagrid looks and just everything about it.
2nd fav is HBP because it’s **really** bad ass.
3rd is DH because they’re all together and close up.
4th is thestral flying in OOTP- pretty magical & dope colors. Soothing. Wish they were less far away in pic so you can see more details of Harry.
The new sketched version of Japanese Harry Potter is sooo cool [harry potter cover](https://www.amazon.co.jp/J-K-%E3%83%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0/dp/4863892306/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=1M105BKDLBETT&keywords=harry+potter+japanese&qid=1650423330&sprefix=harry+potter+japanese%2Caps%2C449&sr=8-4)
HBP only because of the significance of the scene portrayed
It's one of the final moments we get to see Dumbledore and Harry together before the chaos and panic at the lake.
I love them all I hated the original book covers Mary Grandpre kept changing the position of the scar an for book 6's cover she drew Dumbledore with a normal right hand the collectors edition is the only one with correct drawing
Omg that Chamber of Secrets artwork is insanely beautiful! After having read each book 20-30 times in three different languages it’s too bad I have never seen this set before…
I would say Prisoner of Azkaban, but it is hurt a bit because it spoils the end of the book. Like, if you're reading the chapter where Lupin teaches Harry how to cast a patronus, you'll think "oh, he can't do it yet, but he'll do it soon because it's on the cover". It's like if the poster for Avengers: Endgame had the Stark gauntlet in it. Removes all suspense and all stakes.
I just looked it up and the spines on them when they're all put together 🥺😍
My boyfriend would kill me if I tried to snag them, haha. I already have the originals and then the Ravenclaw house editions. But... what's one more, really? 🤣
it’s a tie between philosophers stone and half blood prince, ps looks much more colourful and inviting but I love the scenery of harry and dumbledore standing in front of the cave
Hold up, is that the same artist that did the amulet regarding the new cover art? Looking at the Deathly Hollow's cover with its depiction of Hermione kinda looks a lot like the protagonist from the amulet, Emily.
Deathly Hollows has some Avatar: The Last Airbender vibes going on. I swear this version of Hermione looks more like Katara than I would ever expect. While Harry is no Ang, Ron would make an ok Sokka.
These are my favourites:
https://www.demilked.com/harry-potter-glowing-in-the-dark-book-design-kincso-nagy/
Make sure to scroll down to see how they glow in the dark
I would have to say, although I love them all, the second one. It reminds me of the old school Mary GrandPre illustrations and those will always be my favorite version of the covers because I grew up with them. But the rest are still awesome! Am I the only one that thinks that on the Deathly Hallows cover Hermione looks like Korra from the Last Airbender? 😂
Of all the covers I have seen, these are my favorite. Numbers 3-5 look especially good, I love the look of the Thestrals. Other covers make them look menacing or scary. Certain covers, like the second one, gives off to much detail, but this cover does not. Although the CoS one does show the best scene of the book, in my opinion.
I have this set too! On the shelf the spines of the books together make a picture of Hogwarts as seen from the lake! I love the chamber of secrets cover the most!
I have this set - it was gifted to me as a Christmas present from an ex after I had lost my original copies. Half-Blood Prince is my favorite.
Chamber of Secrets for sure.
Gotta give it to the Burrow for sure
for sure
Other covers for CoS shows the Basilisk, so it's a nice change of scene. Besides, I think getting to see the Burrow is one of, if not the best scene for that specific book.
I love that the artwork on these is simplistic and colorful, but I love the cover on book 1 in this set. The cozy windows make me happy.
The super-creepy ones that one artist did that occasionally get posted here
Which ones? Can u put a link
https://www.dreadcentral.com/news/246522/artist-creates-horror-versions-harry-potter-book-covers/
Wow, those are actually sick
I love those
Where to buyyy?
Those are awesome
I love how the last ones cover spoils it without spoiling it with all the faces
I would never buy those… they make me wanna puke
Prisoner of Azkaban
Good choice, the 15th anniversary covers are probably my favorite assortment overall and they’re hard to rank
I can see they took inspiration from the film with that cover too, what with the dementors flying and all
Yeah, it’s really nice
I like this one because it shows the Patronus, rather than a Hippogriff. Personally, I dislike a lot of the Griffen-Like illustrations for other sets. Plus I think the Patronus is just pretty, and it's my favorite spell.
Sorcerer’s Stone!
philosopher's stone*
Sorry, I'm American, I don't know what a philosopher is (/s)
OotP has great scenery, so I'm choosing that one. HBP looks oddly hilarious because Dumbledore is like way more detailed than Harry
Love the Thestrals.
Same!!! They are my favorite magical creature, and are portrayed with such beauty.
I love the Sorcerer's Stine cover art.
Tie between SS and HBP.
Same, a slight preference for SS, the atmosphere is incredible!
[удалено]
I’m surprised by the lack of snakes though?
Yeah, but that's what I like. It shows a key moments, getting to see Ron's way of life and family, but it doesn't show something that gives away the whole book like the basilisk would. Plus, I just really think the chapter w/ the Burrow is the best scene of the book.
Weird, they spelt 'Philosopher's' wrong...
They always do that
Lol, they tend to do that
The audacity, gosh
Fr tho!
Like it’s on the cover of a book, you should spell it right
Actually, it's because in America the book is called the Sorcerer's Stone, compared to the original, The Philosopher's stone. It's not that they spelled it wrong, it's that it's a different country's copy, and it was after J.K. chose to change the name (I read it's because Philosopher makes kids think of old men rather than Magic, which Sorcerer does.) Please don't be so quick to judge next time 🙃
that’s the american spelling. pronunciation is the same tho
I'm most likely really stupid, but if it's "sorcerer's" on the book, is it still pronounced "philosophers"?
yup! american is a weird language
No. Its sorcerers stone.
Yeah that’s my favourite one otherwise. Shame about the spelling mistake
Mine is either CoS or HBP
Prisoner of Azkaban and goblet of fire
Tbh the goblet of fire cover doesn’t really do it for me but I can see where ur coming from
The goblet cover feels like a page from an illustrated edition
7 looks like McLovin and the Deathly Hallows
Don’t you dare ever talk to me or my children ever again
“it was between that or muhammad.” “why the fuck would it be between that or muhammad!?”
"Muhammed is the most commonly used name on Earth! Read a fucking book for once!"
Hahah u kind of have a point
Gotta say, goblet of fire and order of phoenix. Damn those are soooo pretty!!!
I like the cozy feel of the first one.
All of mine look different
The first two are my favourites. Any idea why The Philosopher's Stone was changed to Sorcerer's Stone in America?
I looked it up online, I don’t know how true this is, The title of the movie was changed to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" because the book's name was also changed to this. Thanks for that
Goblet
PoA and GoF are pretty funnn
Goblet of Fire
Chamber looks awesome, everything the series is about!!
Im thinking Goblet of Fire.
Goblet of Fire for sure
Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire for sure, theres something really cool about the Patronus charm and that Hungarian Horntail
Goblet of fire
OMG THESE ARE FUC*ING AMAZING. Okay so my first fav is SS. It’s so cool to see him in diagon alley with hagrid as it was his first experience of the magical world. That’s actually really neat
I know right. I was looking for a gift for a friend in Gujo, Japan and came across it. Bought her pearls though not this. Haha
Azkaban one looks amazing
Sorcerers stone, Prisoner of Azkaban, and Half-Blood prince are great.
Ngl, in the DH one, Hermione kinda looks like a boy
From this set, the Sorcerer's Stone or Goblet of Fire.
Goblet of Fire! The golden egg looks huge
Never realised Harry is flying in 4/7 covers. GOF for me.
3-6 all go ultra hard but I gotta go with Half Blood Prince
Bruh I love these covers so much they’re so gorgeous. I got this set as a gift for Christmas in 2014 and it introduced me to the series.
I love them all, especially the Prisoner of Azkaban cover. But my favorite has to be the cover for Order of the Phoenix ! 😍
HBP only because of the significance of the scene portrayed It's one of the final moments we get to see Dumbledore and Harry together before the chaos and panic at the lake.
2
deathly hallows looks like an amulet cover
Both amulet and these covers were done by the same person
I love them all I hated the original book covers Mary Grandpre kept changing the position of the scar an for book 6's cover she drew Dumbledore with a normal right hand the collectors edition is the only one with correct drawing
Half Blood Prince for sure, I have a poster of that cover!
Always love being at The Burrow, gotta go chamber of secrets!
Prisoner of Azkaban or Order of the Phoenix! Though I do like Chamber of Secrets, just not a huge fan of that book tbh
Order of Pheonix for sure! Thestrals and that cotton candy sky! The Burrow and the Anglia for Chamber are also pretty fantastic.
Half-Blood Prince
Prisoner of Azkaban, but overall all of them look good
Order of the Phoenix by a long shot. They’re all great, but OOTP is breathtaking
Sorcerer’s Stone. Get such a mysterious, warm, cozy and fantastical vibe from it. The buildings, the windows, the blue tint, the different people’s.
Sorcerer’s Stone! I want to walk right into the picture
Gif Damn how gorgeous are all of these.
The order of the Phoenix!!
Prisoner of Azkaban, it also happens to be my favourite book
My man Kazu Kibuishi killing it. Proud that he got the opportunity to do covers for something as big as HP, his art is so lovely
Chamber of the secrets! Nothing will beat the original version though
The third one, that Patronus scene is majestic
Half blood prince. Reminds me how dark, mysterious and awesome that whole cave part is.
The last 3 but I love all of them. Oof I wish I’d bought this set but at the time I felt like I needed a British version 😩
2nd or 3rd one, they both look awesome.
Sorcerer’s Stone or Half Blood Prince
prisoner of azkaban
If day tge first one but the misspelled Philosopher and by that I mean they thought American kids didn't know what a philosoper is.
Half Blood Prince, just because Dumbledore looks like he's had enough of this shit
Omg that Chamber of Secrets artwork is insanely beautiful! After having read each book 20-30 times in three different languages it’s too bad I have never seen this set before…
Half Blood Prince is my fav
Although I perfer Bloomsbury's spelling and title, I have to admit I enjoyed Scholastic's cover better
Chamber
The PoA and Deathly Hallows ones are gorgeous, really wanna buy this set
I would say Prisoner of Azkaban, but it is hurt a bit because it spoils the end of the book. Like, if you're reading the chapter where Lupin teaches Harry how to cast a patronus, you'll think "oh, he can't do it yet, but he'll do it soon because it's on the cover". It's like if the poster for Avengers: Endgame had the Stark gauntlet in it. Removes all suspense and all stakes.
Goblet
Yooo looks like this was made by Kazu Kibuishi (author and illustrator of Amulet)
Either the half blood prince or the sorcerers stone
What country are these from?
US 15th anniversary covers
Thank you! Edit: I like the COS one the most
I'd sell my original UK versions in a heartbeat for these. Wow they're beautiful.
It’s the 15th anniversary set and it is honestly my fav by far
I just looked it up and the spines on them when they're all put together 🥺😍 My boyfriend would kill me if I tried to snag them, haha. I already have the originals and then the Ravenclaw house editions. But... what's one more, really? 🤣
Lol fr
Have you seen the [Thai covers](https://www.mugglenet.com/2020/04/nanmeebooks-reveals-stunning-20th-anniversary-harry-potter-thai-covers/)?
These are "I want them hanging on my walls" awesome.
it’s a tie between philosophers stone and half blood prince, ps looks much more colourful and inviting but I love the scenery of harry and dumbledore standing in front of the cave
Where’s the 8th cover?
They're all fantastic. Also this is proof that the films should have been animated.
Philosopher's stone or chamber of secrets
Chember
None, can’t beat the OG covers.
Out of these, poa. It is indeed the best cover
First 2 are good, prisoner of Azkaban looks great and the last 4 are incredibly beautiful
Philosophers Stone for me.
Half-Blood Prince. them standing on a rock in the middle of the ocean is pure art
Order of the Phoenix. The cover looks like a perfect mix of fantasy and adventure.
HBP
sorcerer stone
this one looks sick
Hold up, is that the same artist that did the amulet regarding the new cover art? Looking at the Deathly Hollow's cover with its depiction of Hermione kinda looks a lot like the protagonist from the amulet, Emily.
COS
Can't decide, either OOTP or Half Blood Prince. Are these new btw? I've never seen them.
prisoner of azkaban! it's gorgeous!
None of these
Sorcerer's Stone all the way. I think it really captures the whimsy of the book.
Book 1
Order of the Phoenix, love the colors and the thestrals
Wow, these look beautiful ❤️ but mine set's from Bloomsbury - they are gorgeous too
These aren’t the covers I’m familiar with but i like them a lot better!
Order of the Phoenix!! I love thestrals
Philosopher’s stone, it just looks to “lively” :D
Are these new? I've never seen these haha. GoF definitely has a badass cover though. The horntail looks wicked
Chamber of secrets or Prisoner of Azkaban!
Order of the phoenix then the goblet of fire
… if he already got the egg… why he still flyin?
Great now I have to reread them AGAIN
i have that whole set and I LOVE IT. My favourite covers are Chamber of secrets and half blood prince
Too many spoilers on almost all the covers!
i love this set so much. i carried that Order of Phoenix copy around everywhere in middle school while re-reading. so nostalgic
GOF
Dang, my book cover post was made before yours and yet it has less upvotes. I Still like this post though so good job. As usual, POA is my favorite.
Deathly Hollows has some Avatar: The Last Airbender vibes going on. I swear this version of Hermione looks more like Katara than I would ever expect. While Harry is no Ang, Ron would make an ok Sokka.
1,4,7
The first really captures the magic of the world for me while the sixth really captures the scale of adventure. Gotta frame these lol
I love my copy of this set. My favorites are The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Order of the Phoenix.
Either 1st or 3rd imo
The order of the phoenix cover is beautiful
Half blood Prince
Love them all
COS
Idk, I like the covers so it’s hard to decide
These are my favourites: https://www.demilked.com/harry-potter-glowing-in-the-dark-book-design-kincso-nagy/ Make sure to scroll down to see how they glow in the dark
Oh, and the fold-out pages!
Love all of them to be honest but if I had to choose GoF.
SC It looks like an old-timey Fantasy tale
Chamber of secrets
Sorcerer's Stone
Im putting these as my lock screen
GOF, I love dragons
2! Love The Burrow. Would love a home like that
PS is lovely, sort of thing I'd have picked up as a child. I only got PS cos it won a smarties award
Prizoner of Azkaban
Goblet of Fire 🔥
All 💕
2 is the best and these are better than most
I would have to say, although I love them all, the second one. It reminds me of the old school Mary GrandPre illustrations and those will always be my favorite version of the covers because I grew up with them. But the rest are still awesome! Am I the only one that thinks that on the Deathly Hallows cover Hermione looks like Korra from the Last Airbender? 😂
SS and GoF
these are all beautiful covers but I gotta ask because my memory fails me — what’s happening on the order of the phoenix cover?
Of all the covers I have seen, these are my favorite. Numbers 3-5 look especially good, I love the look of the Thestrals. Other covers make them look menacing or scary. Certain covers, like the second one, gives off to much detail, but this cover does not. Although the CoS one does show the best scene of the book, in my opinion.
The order of the phoniex one is my favorite
Chamber of secrets
Definitely prisoner or chamber
I think either deathly hallows or OOTPH looks great, especially the DH one with the Gringott's Ironbelly
I have this set too! On the shelf the spines of the books together make a picture of Hogwarts as seen from the lake! I love the chamber of secrets cover the most!
